Guilt

1186 Words
This is all made up; please don't hold anything against me.   Ryder’s P.O.V While I’m dragging Grayson down the hall to our first class of the day; I see that there are multiple girls giving me different looks. A couple looks say, ‘What the hell is up with her?’, ‘Aw, they are so cute together!’, and ‘Aw, I thought I was going to be next to be with him.’. I just about growl at the last that I heard, but then I feel a tingling sensation on my cheek making me stop in my tracks in the hallway, knowing fully well what or who is causing this feeling. I close my eyes taking it in, and calms down in almost an instant. I open my eyes and see my mate standing right in front of me with loving eyes that I just melt under, and I wish that I put on some perfume or something like that because I am starting to sweat like crazy. I blush and look away then start pulling him away towards our class again a little quicker than before. When we get to class, we get to our assigned seats, but the only problem is that they are on the opposite sides of the class. Well, I guess it’s a good and bad thing. Good part is that I can at least ‘try’ to focus on my studies, but the bad part of it is that my mate bond is really not like being away from him. Even like this. “Okay, class is going to have a change of seating, and this will be the seating for the rest of the semester or the year. I haven’t decided yet.” Our teacher tells us the guidelines of how things are going to work, and that this may take all class period to do this; which she is going to have to repeat since not everyone is here yet “Oh, Mr. Skylar you are actually here in class. Will I be seeing you more often in my class?” she says with a nice, sarcastic voice after she looks around the room and spots Grayson. The guidelines are that there will be two desks next to each other, and then our teacher will assign us a desk mate. Then your desk mate will be your study buddy for the rest of the time that we are paired up with forever long that is. The desks are set up in three aisles, five rows on the sides, and four in the middle. To be a little honest it looks a little like a little V. Grayson and I get in line to take a look to see where we are going to be sitting; we’re pretty far back, so I look out the window while we wait. When we get up to there, I look at the board to see that I’m in the middle row in the middle lane of the class. I took a quick glance at Grayson then looked back at the board to see where he is because I didn’t really bother to see who was all around me not noticing his facial expression. When I realized that we weren’t desk mates my heart dropped knowing that I won’t be able to be right next to him in class. I looked at him like I was about to cry when I heard the teacher call out to the whole class. “Hey class I guess I made a mistake on the seating arrangement. Give me one second, and I will fix it.” All our classmates that were seated stayed that way, and same to the ones that were standing up while she fixed the board. Grayson and I move by the door, so we are out of the way of our teacher as well as the other students coming into the room for class. I can’t believe that it’s my second day, and we already have new seats. This has Never happened at any of my other schools; they never changed seats in the middle of the semester, quarter, or anything like that. I must have looked down for a second because Grayson squeezed my hand softly to let me know that he saw, and that he is here for me.  It hurts that I never had a permanent place to call home over the years, but now I think thoughs years are over now. Now that I have found Grayson. He is my home now, and that’s all that matters now. I squeeze his hand back then lean my head on him with a smile. Once the teacher was done fixing the seating arrangements everyone takes turns to look at the board to see where their new seats will be this time. Grayson and I walk up to the board to see where we will be, I take a moment to look up there because I’m afraid that I’m not sitting next to him again. I take a deep breath, then look up, and I find both names immediately. Mainly because Grayson is pointing them out with his other hand; we’re sitting right next to each other. I look up at him with a huge smile on my face then back at the board to actually see where we are. We are in the middle Aisle, and the second to last row from the back; as we walk to our seats, I notice our teacher bow a little bit to me. It was one of those that not just anyone would notice it. I smile at her then I turn to look at Grayson with a questioning look on my face wondering what is going on. Our teacher must be part of Grayson’s pack; well now my pack, but not yet at least. But how doesn’t she know about me and him already then it hits me. He must have told her so that we could sit together, let alone he didn’t want me to cry then asked her to change things around so we could sit together. I am the happiest girl in the world to be blessed to have such an awesome mate.  I wonder who else in the school is part of the pack, and who knows about me. The next people that came into the classroom were Avery, Noah, and Quinn. I haven’t seen them since I left them at the café; I suddenly feel guilty for my actions last night. They walk up the board point a little bit without touching the board then start walking towards us. I then notice that there are three spots empty around us. I smile at them all then it falls, and I look down at my hands on my desk remembering about my guilt.
