Chapter 16 My Aim Is Killing You

“But he is forced upon me by an elderly that I couldn’t refuse. He wanted him to work in our company. To tell you the truth, I can’t fire him even if I want.”

Yolanda was shocked. She asked unbelievingly, “Even you can’t fire him?”

“Right.” Scarlett now felt the unspeakable bitterness.

If she had known that this bastard would bring so much trouble, she wouldn’t have let him come to work in the company. But she just made her father force him to come to work here yesterday, if she fired him today, her father would be furious. Her father would think she was too wayward.

Besides, Scarlett wasn’t the kind of person who would admit failure. It was with this character that she managed the company so well. The bigger the challenge was, the more determined she would be. Now her battle against Marlow had become a long-term cause for her.

She already had a plan when she talked with Yolanda. Those words were just the prelude.

“Though I can’t fire him, I have the say in the company after all. I can arrange for him to do any job. I’ve decided to arrange for him to work in your sales department…”

Before Scarlett could finish her words, Yolanda interrupted her, “No, no, Scarlett. You see even you can’t deal with this bastard, how can I? Besides, he just sexually harassed me. If you let me work in my department, I’m done for.”

Scarlett smiled faintly and leaned forward, her eyes lit up. “Don’t panic, Yolanda. Listen to me patiently. First of all, as I’ve told you, I hate this guy. I wish I could cut him into two parts and bury a thousand miles apart. But the fact is I can’t even fire him.”

She sat straight again and continued, “This situation is a double-edged sword. I can’t fire him, but he can’t resign either, even if the job is a pain in the ass for him. The elderly had said, he wanted him to be trained in my company. He has to work from the bottom position and should be treated as an ordinary staff, without any privilege, except that he can’t be fire. So you can treat him as a newbie who is just recruited.”

She stretched her arms and said, “You know, I can’t be too harsh to him because of the elderly. But you are different, you don’t know him; you have no relationship with him. So you can do whatever you want with him. And I will back you whatever you do. Don’t worry, as long as it isn’t something illegal or against the company’s regulations, I will support you on everything you do.”

Manipulating people is the essence of successful management. Scarlett looked like an unworldly lady in appearance, but she was a master if she wanted to manipulate people.

This time she tried her skill on Yolanda and it proved to be very effective. Yolanda blushed with excitement. Now she could already see Marlow kneeling in front of her and plead her for mercy.

But she wasn’t an idiotic beauty since she could be the right arm of Scarlett.

After a moment of ecstasy, she asked seriously, “Can I really do whatever I want with him?” 

“You can’t attack him physically. I guess you are not able to if you want. But you can torture him mentally. What do you think?”

 “Okay!”

The two women celebrated with a high five and laughed in smug satisfaction.

Marlow had almost finished reading a novel outside when the door opened and Yolanda came out. He found she was a different person from the time when she went in. She was furious earlier, but now she was glowing with pride.

When she walked past him, she snorted. She held her head high and her chest out, as graceful as a swan.

“Marlow, come in.” From the door that was still opened, a familiar cold voice sounded.

Marlow went in with a grin.

It wasn’t necessary for her to ask him to sit down. He felt more at home than she did in her office.

Scarlett ignored his grinning face and said with a businesslike tone and a poker face, “As I noticed that you are quite eloquent, I’ve arranged a job suitable for you. You go to work in the sales department. I won’t assign a specific job for you. The detailed job description will be decided by the sales department. But I have to warn you in advance: You are just an ordinary staff in this company. You don’t have any privilege and you can never expose our relationship.”

She felt so proud of herself when she said those words. Just imagine the scene of this bastard being tortured in the sales department. She couldn’t conceal the excitement in her heart. “I suppose a proud man like you wouldn’t use your relationship with me to mess around.”

Marlow admitted that after he heard her words, he was shocked for a moment. His first reaction was that she was so vicious! A woman’s heart was more vicious than a viper. Then he started to think all women were mean. However, after thinking for a while, he concluded Scarlett was adorable. At this moment, she pretended to be cold and aloof, but she failed to conceal the smug smile in the corners of her mouth. She was more lovable now than when she looked like a goddess.

To cooperate with her show, he first looked shocked and then indignant. He stood up abruptly, glared at Scarlett and pointed at her with a finger, “Are you serious? You know what kind of person that woman was and we have grudge against each other. And you still arrange for me to work in her department. Are you…playing tricks on me?”

“I am not playing tricks on you. I am trying to kill you. Haha! I’m so happy. I can’t wait to see you being bullied by her. Your expression right now is interesting. Keep it. Let me take a picture of it.”

Nobody likes to wear a mask in his life, but sometimes forced by necessity, many people have to disguise themselves.

The period of life Scarlett missed most was when she was in college. She could be her true self then and do whatever she felt like to.

But since she started working, she rarely could be as happy as then. In the company, she was a goddess that everyone admired. So she had to play the role others expected to see.

Now there was a guy in this company who had seen her true self. She felt free in front of him. Since he had already seen her being a mean little girl, she could just be a mean little girl.

Marlow liked this side of Scarlett too, so he adjusted his expression to cooperate with the show they were playing. He acted as if he was partly afraid, partly careless, and said stubbornly, “It’s not a big deal. I will go work in that department. Wait. I will settle with you when we go back home.”

After saying that, he left her office looking furious. Scarlett laughed happily and clasped her hands behind him.
