CHAPTER FOURTEEN For some reason Remi couldn’t understand, Daniel’s mother didn’t meet them at her hotel, or at a restaurant, but at the café in the British Library in downtown London. It felt as if they were being summoned to a work meeting. Remi had been in the library and its treasure trove of rare books on a number of occasions, and she felt at home walking across the broad courtyard toward the red brick building in central London, passing the giant bronze statue of Sir Isaac Newton bending forward with his compass to figure out the dimensions of the solar system, and onwards through the glass doors.
