Chapter 15: Wreckage

Julianna I woke up to the smell of frying eggs and bacon.  I opened my eyes and stared at the unfamiliar ceiling.  In a moment of panic, I fought with the fuzzy throw blanket wrapped around me and fell off the couch with a thud. James came into view, holding a spatula in hand.  “Hey, are you okay?” I looked around in confusion.  I had no idea how I had ended up in James’s apartment.  Had I been there all night?  I untangled myself from the blanket and got shakily to my feet.  I raked my hand through my messy hair and nodded to indicate that I was indeed, okay. Except, I knew I wasn’t.  I’d really made a mess of things last night in the ED.  I shuffled off to the bathroom.  I didn’t need to ask where the bathroom was, because I could see that his apartment was the exact mirror image of
