"And I promise to treat you right, love you as Christ has loved you and still loves you, stand by you in good and in good," the congregation laughed once she said that, but she was just trying to be positive. She had heard a lot about couples divorcing and it was the last thing on her mind. She didn't ever want that for herself or Rotimi. Her man sobbed as she said her vows looking into his eyes. And then he said his own vows. It was a perfect moment, just as they always both imagined it would be. They were both glad their parents weren't the type hounding them or forcing them to do things their own way. For once, the thick african-ness of parents taking over their children's wedding was kicked out of the way. Her wedding gown was the simplest wedding gown anyone at the wedding had ever seen. It was straight, long and had an attachment beneath it that made it flow. It was sleeveless, yet it exposed nothing. The warning from the church was stern and clear, not to mention that Tosin herself was a guarded woman, who had faith in God and wouldn't even succumb to the temptation of skin showing. Fine coral beads ran through the back of her dress forming a charade sleeve that held her arms properly to her body so that her armpit was well covered. Her hair was long enough, it needed no formal attachment as she had given it a thorough wash a day before and called the stylist to come in early and style it up in the morning. She was beautiful, no doubt and without an iota of ado, anyone would know she was blessed. Without asking, her mother in law had gotten her a lady Wang shoe and dress for her reception party and those gorgeous babies, she dauntlessly loved. That was the blissful memory of their wedding day. They were sure God had a hand in their marriage. They had prayed, fasted, gotten different strong convictions and confirmations about their future home and had joyfully shared it. Purity was a pillar they held on to and indeed, their waiting had not been in vain. Rotimi was the most amazing and romantic man on earth, it made Tosin want to repeat their first night together, but that was impossible, the first time was always the first time. Nevertheless, not being a virgin anymore made love even sweeter and enjoyable with her adorable husband. Until after their first year and no child came. Not that they thought it was late, but they just wanted a child badly. "I am still seeing my period." Tosin told her husband as she stood in front of the toilet in their room, her head resting on a side of the entrance. "My love, don't worry, it has just been a year and there's nothing impossible for God to do." He assured her giving her all his attention even though he had his glasses on and files scattered in front of him, he knew better than not to give his wife his attention at this time. "But he promised us," she continued. Rotimi sighed, got up from the fine leather seat that sat at a corner in their room and took a short walk to his wife, dragged her from where she stood and sat her back on his lap on their bed. "I can't say I know how you feel, at least I am the man and you are the woman but one thing I am sure of is that God does not lie, if he said it then he will do it." He told her and landed a kiss on her shoulder. She smiled weakly and thanked him. He was the most supportive man she had ever seen all her life. She had at first felt inadequate not being able to give him a child, but his support and the love that came from his praying parents
