Chapter 6 - The Truth

2048 Words
Kieran ---- I wake up this morning just wanting to imagine the events concerning Tiffany didn't occur from last night but unfortunately I know otherwise. I have decided, though, that I'm not going to let her dampen my mood. I mean, seriously, how can Tiffany really? Shivers go down my spine as I remember Amaryllis in all her glory. Amaryllis and I have agreed to meet again tonight. I'm not sure how well she knows the forest but I'm going to take her to The Lost Pond. Chances are she will never have seen it but even if she has it will still be cool to visit again. It's so tranquil. First things first, time to speak to my father. "Where are you?" I mindlink him. "In the room with your Mother," he replies, it's early. "Good stay put." I reach their door and before I can knock, it opens and my mother leaves fast. "Mother, where are you going?" I call after her. "I refuse to play piggy in the middle of one of your arguments with your father. He's being so pig headed at the moment and I can't listen to any more of it." As I walk into their quarters I hear my Dad. He's sat at their round oak table in his high seat. "Now look what you've done. This is all your fault. Your Mother and I have never argued like this before. Why are you lying? You have no mate. Why won't you just take Tiffany, she's such a lovely girl and would make a great Luna," my Dad spits at me all at once. "Whoa, there Dad. You and mother shouldn't be fighting, I'm not lying, the week you gave me isn't up yet. One thing you need to listen to me loud and clear on, Tiffany is just a f**k and only that when I'm desperate. She will NEVER be my Luna. She is not lovely like you think. Amaryllis is my mate and will be Luna," I roar back in his face. Then a strange thing occurs. I watch the colour drain out of my father's face. He goes deathly white. In all my 22 years I have never seen that happen. Wow. I must finally have earned his respect! With that I turn around and go marching out before he can open his trap up again. I pass my Mother along the corridor . "He will not be arguing with you anymore mother," I tell her with a confident smile. "How can you be so sure Kieran?" my mother asks me softly. "Well, when I told father in no uncertain terms that Tiffany would never be Luna, he seemed to finally understand. Maybe it is because I am able to tell him my mate's name that he finally believes me. Whatever it is I have to go mother, I have duties to attend to," and with that I leave her standing in the hallway mouth open. I didn't want a Spanish inquisition over Amaryllis and that is what my mother was about to give me. ---- Amaryllis ---- "Morning Mum," I cheerily say to my Mum in the kitchen as I grab some toast for breakfast. "Hey, make your own toast sis," Martin grumbles at me. "Didn't realise it had your name on it," I say laughing back at him. "Well it did OK!" "Always a morning person you aren't you," I smile at him. "Pack it up you two!" Mum scolds us. "What have you got planned for today dear?" Mum asks me. "A date with my room," I reply. I will be having dreamy thoughts about Kieran. He's always on my mind. I mean continually, the only way I can deal with it is by hiding myself away. I do feel the happiest that I've ever felt and whenever I'm with my Mum I can feel her eyes burning into me, trying to figure me out. Well, granted, I have changed and if anyone's going to notice, it will be Mum. I left it with Kieran that we will meet up again tonight in the same place. Thinking about him sends butterflies off in my tummy and shivers down my spine. I think tonight I am just going to be me and wear a pair of jeans and a top. "Tonight you must tell Kieran the truth Amaryllis.  He is your mate and Goliath is mine.  I wish to be honest.  It will be up to them whether they accept us or not.  If Kieran chooses to reject you then he isn't worthy of your love and being your mate." Raven comes through to me. Raven speaks only the truth but it is still hard to hear. "I know, I'm just scared of the consequences," I answer sadly. ---- Kieran ---- I can smell the intoxicating palm violets.... she has arrived before me! She looks exquisite in her simplicity. Just a pair of stonewashed jeans and a black t-shirt with a lace back to it. Her long blonde hair falls over her shoulders, down her back. She's wearing trainers this time, rather than sandals, probably for the practicality of it. All the same she looks divine and I just want to get close to her again. "Amaryllis, I've missed you, " I hear myself say, caught up in her scent. "Likewise," she replies and blushes at me. The rosiness across her face makes me wonder what she's thinking. "I would love to know your thoughts but I would love it even more if you would come to The Lost Pond with me now. I don't know whether you know it, very few do, hence why it has it's name." I find myself holding my breath waiting for her answer. "I would really like you to show me Kieran," my little bundle of palm violets whispers back. Oh, just hearing her say my name gives me goosebumps all over. "Shift and follow me then," I peer down at her. Then what do you know, Amaryllis disappears into the trees to shift. She's gone all shy! But out bounds Raven in all her black and purple glory. I quickly undress to shift to Goliath and Raven turns her head. I bet she's blushing right now and it gives me a warm feeling. Goliath goes and nudges Raven and her violet gems focus on him. "Come on, you two can play together later.  Take her to The Lost Pond Goliath," I command him. "Hey! Snap out of it and move!" "She's bewitched me Kieran I swear she has," he finally tells me. "JUST MOVE!"  I roar inwardly at him. With that Goliath takes off with a howl to Raven to ensure she follows behind. ---- Amaryllis ---- Goliath has taken Raven and run with her showing us parts of the forest we've never seen before. I am really excited. Just the name, The Lost Pond, spurs us on. It seems like we've been running for ages when jumping out from between a cluster of beech trees Goliath knocks Raven sideways onto the grass floor in order to save her from plunging head first into the pond. I feel Raven set on fire and a sloppy lick from Goliath on the face. "Urgh Raven, give me my body back!" "Only if you promise to tell him tonight." I can't believe the cheek of her right now. "I promise Raven." She walks back undercover of the trees and does what I ask. As I walk out towards the Pond once more, I take it all in. It's not overly large but is surrounded by trees and reeds. There is no path on any side leading to it which must have helped it get it's name. There are big lily pads on the water and dirt/gravel banks. At night it looks serene. "Over here Amaryllis," I hear Kieran beckon me nearby. Oh, he looks good enough to eat with jeans and vest top on, muscles rippling, manly aura. I can't help but think and I can feel I am getting all moist again. "Coming," I call back. "What do you think then Amaryllis," he whispers and I'm not sure whether he means him or where we are. "I can see you're drooling, I mean the Pond," Kieran laughs. I can feel myself going beetroot again, the shame. "It's lovely Kieran. I won't remember my way back and I really wish I could." "This is the true lost pond." "How do you mean?" I ask him inquisitively. "Well, there are others that call another Pond by this name, but this is the real one," he explains. All of a sudden there is a great noise in the trees. "Crikey what's that?" I ask Kieran. "It's a screech owl. They're harmless just very noisy," he laughs at me. "You could say that, it made me jump sky high!" I say shaken. "Come and sit with me, I need to hold you Amaryllis." Oh my, how can I resist those gorgeous light brown eyes. He runs a hand through his sandy hair and pats the ground next to him. I need to be in his arms, it's all I've been thinking and dreaming about. I sit down and feel his strong arms snake themselves around me possessively. I take a deep breath of his spicey scent and relax backwards into him. I feel him blow down my back which makes me turn my head round and look up at him. Our eyes lock and he lowers his chiseled face to mine and he kisses my plump ready and waiting lips. Opening up I invite his tongue to meet mine and tango like last night. The kiss is full of all our wanton lust and desires. It ignites my body and sets it on fire. Just like last night he pulls away from my mouth but this time he still holds me in his arms. "Amaryllis my darling, what are you doing to me, what have you done to me," he whispers in my ear. "I could say the same," I reply softly. "Amaryllis darling..." "Yes Kieran?" "I need to ask you something.." "You have to tell him NOW!" Raven explodes in my head. "And I need to tell you something Kieran that is very important, but you can go first." "Fool! You should have gone first, too late now," Raven scolds me. "Alright then, well mine is very important too. I have failed to tell you who I am and what pack I'm from. I am Alpha Kieran Knightly of The Imperial Pack in Epping Forest. I am 22 years old and I have 5 days in which to bring you to meet my parents otherwise I will be forced to have a Luna that my father has chosen for me, when you as my mate are the rightful Luna. So, if you feel the same about me as I do about you, will you please do me the honour of introducing you to them?" "Oh Kieran, I would love to but now it's your turn to listen and you may change your mind yet." "Nothing will make me change my mind." "We will see. I too have not told you all about me because I was scared how you would react and now I will find out." "Just tell me," Kieran says kissing my hand. "I am 18 years old, half witch half werewolf." I feel his arm tighten around me and not in a comforting way. "Raven has not long shown herself to me although she says she has been with me a while. I live in a coven, The Crescent Moon Circle which is hidden by fairies in this forest, up above. It is full of witches and wizards and we have a head Warlock Galahad Nox. No one bar one fairy knows what I am, as far as I am aware and she has helped me mask my scent whilst in the Circle for my safety. My Mum is my only true family there. I'm still figuring out the rest but I know I don't belong there. Please don't hate me." Looking at Kieran I can see he has a stupefied face. "Kieran, did you hear me?"
