But his appearance was deceptive, as a glance into his grey eyes would show. He had been a brilliant Service prosecutor in his younger days, but for reasons he never chose to divulge, he abandoned his assured career at its height and became an equally capable Human Rights lawyer, an action which brought double odium down on him.
