It was a wonderfully beautiful day, when all of a sudden it wasn’t. The sky was cloudy and the weather was perfect for a cup of tea and a book. I had just gotten my cake, biscuits, tea, and book sorted out, and I was just getting settled in when there was a loud roar.
“Erik, be quiet!” I yelled at my dragon. Nope. not Erik, wasn’t really catchy.
I poured my tea, went to take a sip.. And spilled it all over the front of my dress. Thanks to the dragon roaring once again, then all of a sudden the castle shook, and I held on for dear life.
“What the hell” I whispered to myself, “what is going on out there?”
I ran to the window, coughing on the dust that shook loose from the stones when the dragon decided to remodel the place. I fanned my hands and squinted my eyes, trying to see what was going on out there. I could see my dragon pacing in the front of the gate and a figure in front of it. They weren’t attempting to get in, they were merely looking, huh, odd.
“You there, state your business!” I yelled as loud as I could.
“Aye, couldn’t hardly see you there, miss, what with you being that far up there and all. Say have you seen my companion?” he asked. His accent was weird, but who are we kidding? I don’t really socialize.
“No, no, I can't say that I have.” I said back to him
“Are ye sure," he went on and on about a fair maiden locked in a tower. Needing to be rescued from a hungry fiery dragon.” He put his hands on his hips and c****d his head to look at said dragon.
I could see the slightest hint of a smirk on his face from here. Was he pulling a prank on me before he tried to conquer his obstacles?
I burst out laughing. “That is quite funny. I assure you that I have seen no one here other than you and my pets. If he did manage to make it past Gerald, then he would either have piranha food, or wall décor by now.”
“Gerald? I did not meet anyone else out here other than the dragon.” He stated.
“Oh yes, the dragon. His name isn’t Gerald really. I am trying a few names out and seeing which one sticks,. Anyway, that does not matter. Other than the dragon, no one has been here, I assure you.” I said to him with finality.
He placed his hand on his chin and looked deep in thought before he snapped his fingers suddenly. “Aha, I have it! a brilliant idea.”
“Yes, and what is it? Shall you leave me in suspense this entire time?” I asked. I was quite tired of standing here when all that delicious cake is behind me, tempting me with its mouth-watering scent.
“I shall come in and look for him myself,” He said.
Well, this is going to be either very funny or very sad. I can not tell which one it is likely to be.
“There's a problem with that,” I yelled down to him.
“Aye, and what is that?” he asked.
“The dragon..” I trailed off. Surely he can put the pieces together!
“Never mind him,” he said.
I was in shock. Not only is he not heading my warning, but he is climbing over the gate. i***t, just like the rest of them. He must think this ruse of his is some kind of act of a sort. I don’t think he will find it funny once he is burned to a crisp, eaten as a snack, and then s**t out for fertilizer later on.
“You can't come over the gate, he will insinerate you!” I yelled at him. I am trying to help him and he isn’t listening.
“no, no he wont harm me. I will only be a moment. I'll pop in and out and then I'll be out of your hair!” he said.
He jumped over the gate. My nerves were on edge and the hair on my arms was standing on end. I was holding my breath without the knowledge of doing so. I have never had a conversation with one of the men who showed up here, and now I feel like if I watched him being eaten I would be watching a murder!
He approached the dragon and I knew it, it was coming, and he was going to be dragon poop by tomorrow morning. Then, then, then nothing, the dragon stood there and let the man pet his snout. He lowered his head and let him pet him on his face! The very face that has consumed animals and people of all sizes. The very face that is covered in blood and ash ninety percent of the time and the other ten percent is because he is sleeping.
“Aye, see I told you he would not harm me,” he said, “he knows his own kind.”
“you? You are not a dragon. You are merely a man. I am looking right at you.” This was the weirdest day yet, and the most entertaining.
“Aye, that is because I can shift.” He continued to pet the dragon. “You see here, If i was to shift he would feel threatened, and we wouldn’t want that. Not when I have so many plans for us love.”
Then he looked at me and smiled. A smile that was mischievous and malicious. A smile that makes you tingle between your legs, even though you know he is up to no good.
“I'll be coming up there to have a chat with ye here in bit. Hang in there love, it will be a long night.” He said. He dropped his hand and started walking toward the castle. The bridge was over the mote, so the last defense I had was the traps on the inside. He will never make it through there.
“Aye, if you are up there scheming on a way to get out, then id advise you not to. I have tricks up my sleeve, love that I have been waiting to use on this place ever since I set my eyes upon it. I watched you tiptoe and leap through the halls and corridors. I know all the nooks and crannies this place holds and all the traps as well. Did myself right planning, I did. Mighty proud if I do say so. Alas, I will be coming up there.” Then he winked! He freaking winked at me!
“Ugh! I swear if you disturb my peace I will take vengeance!” I yelled to him.
The response I got was laughing. What an ass!
Today could have been such a wonderful day. it all went to hell and it was all HIS fault, that arrogant ass!
