Tanya walked back and forth inside her room. It was already midnight yet she’s still too awake. She just can’t get Riley’s backstory out from her head. She was already aware that Samantha became her enemy in this world, but she did not expect her to be this type of enemy. The way Riley described Samantha is just too way impossible for her to process. Her friend sounded like a cold-blooded criminal for P’s sake!
“No. It’s not true. Samantha isn’t like that.” Tanya murmured to herself. “Right. Riley must have mistaken Samantha for someone else. She said that the building was dark, right? She can’t possibly see clearly. That’s right. Riley was just mistaken.” Tanya nodded to her own conclusion.
She just can’t force herself to believe the kid. After all, Samantha should only stay as a company rival enemy of hers. That’s what the rule of this world is supposed to be. Her enemy. Not a criminal who’s creating every victim, her own enemy.
With a conclusion that somewhat calmed her mind, Tanya walked towards her bed. She finally decided to sleep. She looked at her analog clock at the top of her bedside table. It was already past 1am. She really has to sleep now.
Tanya was about to fix herself on bed when she realized something. She looked back to the analog clock once more to confirm and she was right. The hand for seconds is not moving. And this meant only one thing.
“Forgive thy intrusion, dear Tanya.” A voice from behind her appeared. She was right.
Hearing this, Tanya slowly turned around. And there, right in front of her is a female kid version of the guardian.
However, Tanya slowly recognizes this face of the guardian. It was the face of her friend. The young Samantha.
Realizing this, Tanya can't help but be annoyed. “What are you doing guardian? Why are you using my friend’s face?” Tanya furiously asked. “Are you seriously mocking her, right now? Isn’t it enough already that you made her a criminal in this world?” She yelled.
But the guardian’s face was unfazed. She just looked back at the furious Tanya and shook her head. “I am not.” She replied. “I know we had an agreement to see each other again after 100 days, yet I am here yet again.” She calmly stated instead.
Tanya clenched her fist. “Yeah? And why is that?” She asked in gritted teeth.
But the guardian just flicked her fingers, instead of giving a reply. In an instant, Tanya was brought to a place unfamiliar to her. “I already told you dear Tanya. I am you. Thy doubts are my doubts, too. However, as the heavens provided me truth, you were provided with oblivion.”
“What?”
Noticing the guardian’s benign behavior towards her, Tanya slowly calmed herself down. The guardian is not enemy. She now knows that.
“Thy doubts and denial about thy friend’s acts are also reflected in me, dear Tanya. But as you have your own free will, I also possess mine. Thus, these events that I will show you is a product of thy own will.”
“What are you talking about guardian?” Tanya can’t help but ask.
“This is an advice from me to you, dear Tanya. Toughen up your heart. As the oblivion given to you by the heavens, was deemed to be a present in disguise.” After hearing that last words, the guardian vanished and Tanya was left alone in that unfamiliar place.
“Where am I?”
Tanya walked around the place she's in. She guessed that it might be the back side of a bar judging from the loud music she is hearing behind her.
Everyone was busy walking from here and there. Tanya knew that the people won’t see or even touch her but she still tried her best to avoid bumping into people. She just finds it weird that people are just passing through her like she’s a ghost.
“Move away!”
Tanya heard that loud voice behind her. When she turned, she saw a person dashing towards her with both hands carrying huge pots. In a rush to avoid the man, Tanya was forced to move pass by the wall and be sent to the other side.
She’s now in a dark hallway. The place was kinda eerie so she wanted to go back to the other side quickly but the flickering lights on the end of the hallway made her curious. She decided to check it first.
'A door?'
“Have you heard? Tanya’s at it again. She captured Lando’s group yesterday and sent them to the police.”
Tanya heard someone spoke from behind her. She took a glance and saw two people on their way to the door in front of her. But wait. Did she hear it right? They're talking about her?
“Yeah. Damn that woman! She’s always getting on the way with our business. If only boss will do something about her.”
“The boss can't harm her you know. She’s our camouflage. The boss won’t risk losing her. Being close with that woman will prevent the boss from falling under any suspicion.”
Tanya’s brows furrowed. Being close with her will make their boss unsuspicious? What does that even mean?
“Yeah, you’re right. Boss @#?!#asdsf… is so smart.”
Tanya was not able to hear some part of what the other guy said since gunshots suddenly echoed from inside the room. Tanya was surprised yet the two people, whose about to go inside that same room, did not even flinch.
When those guys went in, Tanya can’t help but to follow.
“The boss is not in the mood again. Tsk.” Tanya heard one guy murmured beside her.
Tanya turned her gaze around the room. She saw those two people earlier on the other side. The room is a bit crowded yet the middle part is quite spacious. Tanya hates being passed by with people but in this crowded place, she has no choice but to move forward. She wanted to see what’s going on in the middle, too.
She slowly walked towards the middle and finally reached the front. And there, she saw a pool of blood coming from one guy on the ground.
‘What’s this? What’s going on? Is he dead?’
“Bring this i***t out!”
Tanya suddenly heard a familiar voice. Isn’t it…?
“Samantha?” Tanya voiced out the name of the person who came into her view. Then she noticed something from her friend’s hand.
‘A gun?’
Tanya’s eyes can’t believe what she’s seeing. She looked back at the dead guy on the ground then back at Samantha.
Did her friend kill this man?
‘No way!’
