EPISODE 19- STRENGTH & WEAKNESS

Inside the tent, Marcia was treating multiple injured adventurers, that were brought to the white tent that she and other low healer class adventurers were stationed. The injured adventurers were put on a bare-bone bed that was made of flimsy wood and some kind of animal skin.

“Heal,” spoke Marcia as a green sphere appeared in her palm. She then presses the green orb towards the injured part of the adventurer. The wounds did not completely heal, but slowly closed itself slightly.

“There you go mister, I think that should have eased the pain,” spoke Marcia to the injured adventurer with a smile.

“Thanks, little missy the pain is gone now, but I kinda felt my stamina drained a lot.”

“Well, that is normal as healing magic also uses your energy to help in the healing process.”

As Marcia finished healing the adventurer, she was immediately called by one of her co-workers in the tent. Her co-worker had a chestnut color hair that reaches her waist, she had a slender petite figure. Her outfit had some similarities to Marcia, they both wore white cleric robes, the only difference is the color on the edges. Marcia's robe had blue while her co-worker had a dark green color.

“Marcia can you hand me some of those herbs near the table next to you, his wounds need some disinfectant.”

“Sure,” replied Marcia, she then grabbed the wooden mortar that was sitting in the table near her. Marcia then looked at the inside of the mortar and saw a leaf that was almost liquified, the almost liquified leaves smell was strong that Marcia can smell it, it smelled kinda chilly.

Marcia then gave the mortar to her co-worker, “Here you go, Malinda.” Her co-worker then reached her hands and grabbed the mortar and spoke, “Thanks, Marcia.”

Malinda then poured the liquified leaves on the wound of the adventurer. The adventurer who was being treated screamed in pain, as the liquified substance was poured down to his wounds.

“Take the pain like a man will ya! Crybaby” muttered Malinda to the adventurer that she was treating.

Marcia showed a worried smile as she looked at the two, “You sure are still ruthless Malinda.”

“These bastards choose to get injured, so it is only befitting that they should also feel pain for making us work. These guys even keep bragging about how great and skilled they are, but when they are brought here, they all cry like a little b***h. ”

“Now that I think about it, I made seven burly men squeal like a little girl when I treated their wounds. I thought they could handle the burning pain of the potion as their muscles are huge.” muttered Marcia as she looks at the completely knocked out men she treated before.

The two then stopped talking and laughed, the adventurer who was being treated by Malinda looked at the two, “These girls are sadists, I want to get out of here.” muttered the man to himself as he saw the two girls who were laughing as demons, who are about to torture him.

As they were laughing and enjoying their time, a boy with black hair, wearing a cleric robe entered the tent with a worried and scared expression. His face was also full of sweat, his breathing was heavy, meaning he had run from somewhere afar.

Marcia walk near the boy as she grabbed a leather canteen, but the boy slapped the canteen away and held Marcia in her shoulders.

The boy then tried to speak even though he was having a hard time breathing. “Ahh….Ahhhh…. Y-you..ahh..all…run..ahh…aw..ahh..ay!”

“Hey take a deep breath before you speak, you wanna die by suffocating.” Yelled Malinda to the boy.

The boy took Malinda's advice seriously, he then took a deep breath. He inhaled and exhaled as much air as he can, after catching his breath the boy screamed again but this time the words were clear.

“EVERYONE! WE HAVE TO GET THE HELL OUT OF THIS PLACE! ”

“Why?” inquired Marcia to the boy, but instead of explaining the situation, the boy just yelled.

“f**k THIS I'M OUTTA HERE!” he then runs outside the tent, joining the other people running away from the camp.

Seeing the other people panicking as they run away from the camp, Marcia suddenly realized that something dangerous was gonna happen.

Without any explaining, she immediately yelled at the injured adventurers to stand up and run. The adventurers in the tent were shocked by Marcia's sudden behavior, this includes Malinda.

“Is something wrong Marcia? ” asked Malinda to Marcia who was starting to panic. Marcia immediately replied to Malinda, “Malinda! It's not safe here anymore something is gonna happen, so please help me transport the immobile adventurers.”

Malinda was confused but as he looked outside the tent, she also finally realized something bad. Another man walked inside the tent and yelled at the two, “What are you two still doing here!?! Didn't that boy warned you to get out of this place!”

“What's happen…” muttered Malinda

“Don't ask any questions young lady, just move away from this camp.”

Marcia then asked the man with a worried tone, “What about the adventurers here sir?”

“Leave them to us, I will tell my men to carry them out of here,” spoke the unknown man.

Marcia and Malinda then run away from the tent and headed towards the east side of the camp. Good thing that most of the adventurers we're fighting outside the camp lessening the chance of a stampede happening from the panic.

“Wait, why are we running towards the eastside? There isn't an exit there, ” yelled Malinda.

An adventurer with the crowd running away along them heard Malinda and answered, “Well there is one now girlie!”

“What the hell is happening!?!” yelled Malinda in confusion and frustration.

Marcia who was running alongside Malinda looked above the dirt wall and saw the half of a gigantic magic circle. She then told Malinda about this, “Hey Malinda, look over there,” Marcia then pointed her index finger upwards to the sky.

Malinda who had seen it for the first time suddenly turned her confused look into a panic. Marcia immediately noticed the sudden change in Malinda.

“This is bad Marcia, we should get out of that magic circle's range or we would die, so let's hurry up!”

“Yeah!” replied Marcia as she forced herself to dash forward, pushing herself to the limit.

“Ann Marie, shouldn't we do something about this,” spoke Voshkosh to Ann Marie who was gazing at the beast.

Ann Marie turned slightly to her right and answered Voshkosh, “We can't do anything to stop that beast attack, the only thing we can do is wait.”

“I see, we're going to drain that beast of its power by letting it use its powerful skill. But would that work? We don't have any sufficient manpower and mages, not only that we also don't have a grand mage on our side to weaken that beast.”

“That's why we're going to exhaust it until it goes back to its slumber. You're crazy aren't you Ann Marie, but we don't have any other choice do we?”

“We may not be able to put it back to its slumber that easily,” spoke Lyka who was covered in blood.

“This is very frustrating, I wish the kingdom's military took care of this and not us, ” Voshkosh complained.

“But its a good thing that this beast don't have much intelligence and speed, plus its skills can only be used when it's not moving,” Voshkosh added to his previous statement.

An adventurer that came from the east side of the camp run towards the three. Upon arriving he immediately spoke, “Miss Ann Marie, all of the adventurers inside the camp have been evacuated to a safe place. ”

“Good, then we have to wait for the beast to fire its attack. Tell the other adventurers on the battlefield to move away from the range of the magic circle.”

“The adventurers have already done that miss Ann Marie.”

I and the other adventurers have now moved to the rightmost side of the battlefield to get out of the beast's magic circle which shows the range of its attack. According to my sensors, we move two kilometers from my original position.

The magic circle had a diameter of three hundred meters causing the other adventurers to panic when they were still on the battlefield. But as this craziness was going on, Bella and Lucy were fighting over me, which was not good, as the other adventurers looked at me with jealousy. They even see me like I was some sort of monster that they need to kill to save these two maidens.

“I'm so jealous of you young man!”

Of course, there's also this perverted old monk which was probably a mistake befriending him. He kept pestering me and the two girls fighting over me. But when Bella looks at him he immediately turns away, I kinda think he's still traumatized from Bella, but Bella was so sexy that he probably couldn't bear to not look at her sometimes.

I then gazed upon the beast whose spike started to glow immensely that you could even see it in broad daylight. The beast has been on standby for about fifteen minutes now.

[ WARNING! ] I suddenly saw this popped up on my display and then I saw it.

The beast finally fired its skill, the magic circle, and the glowing spikes suddenly disappeared into the thin air. Immense air pressure coming from the beast's mouth escaped, then within a blink of an eye, a beam of light suddenly escaped from its mouth. The light beam melted everything on its path with ease, the mini fortress that we built in the middle of the plains disappeared, as the structure was on the beam's path.

Not only that, but the beam also had air pressure crushing everything in its path. The soil was even dug down by the light beam's air pressure, according to my sensors the air pressure of the light beam was able to make a two-meter deep canal with a length of three hundred meters.

The adventurers looked at the beast's powerful attack with fear after seeing it obliterate everything it hit.

“The beast has been immobilized! ” Xyra spoke to me. “What!?” I asked Xyra in a surprised voice.

“Please allow me to explain, the beast's body has just released a significant amount of energy causing its muscles to lose power due to the recoil of the skill. ”

After hearing Xyra I then heard a tell from afar, “CHAARGE!” it was Lyka who has now running towards the immobile beast. Ann Marie also yelled, “What are you guys waiting for!?! That thing is immobile for a few minutes and will not be able to use any skill at the same time.”

After hearing Ann Marie, the adventurers immediately charged forward following Lyka. The screams of the adventurer dominated the area as they dash towards the immobilized beast with confidence.

Lyka who was the first one to arrive at the beast's foot immediately tried to swing her sword towards the beast. Which ended up in failure as the Megasaurus skin was hard as a rock, Lyka's sword only scratched the Megasaurus.

“Damn! It's too hard for me to handle, then how about this, The wielder of the golden sword, the golden knight I summon thee.” A golden knight wearing golden armor and wielded a golden sword, suddenly emerges the ground behind Lyka. It stood thirteen feet tall, and the sword it wielded has the same size as the knight's body.

The knight was big but it was still an ant compared to the Megasaurus. The knight was imitating the movement that Lyka was doing, she then prepared for another strike using her skill.

“Energy Strike!” yelled Lyka as her sword became engulf with a golden glow, her summoned knight's sword also glowed a golden glow. She then slashed the Megasaurus with all of her strength, her summoned knight also slashed the Megasuarus with its sword, copying her movements.

This time Lyka did more damage along with her giant knight, the damage they dealt may be powerful, but it still only scratched the Megasuarus hard skin.

“It's too hard for me even with my ultimate skill being used,” muttered Lyka as she puts down her sword.

“How stupid of you to even use a sword against that thing?” spoke Voshkosh as he walked toward Lyka.

“That's enough Voshkosh, even what we do we can't kill this beast.” Spout Ann Marie as she walks along with Voshkosh.

“So what now?” asked Lyka to Ann Marie.

“The best thing we can do is to weaken it while it's immobilized, then we wait for it to use its skill again.”

“So you are gonna drain it of its mana? By letting it use its devastating skill multiple times, until it reaches its limit and drops exhausted? ” questioned Voshkosh to Ann Marie.

“That is the most effective plan we can do.”

“But are you sure we can hold this thing that long, Ann Marie? You saw this thing's power, not only that how can we even slow this thing down when it starts to move again?”

Ann Marie then replied to Voshkosh, “That's….”

“We'll take it from here Ann Marie, Lyka, and Voshkosh. You three can just stand back. The two of us can handle this on our own, just go and tell everyone to evacuate to a safe place.”

“Oh aren't you kinda cocky F ranker,” spoke Lyka to Destroyer who had just arrive near them.

“Missy that beauty of yours shouldn't doubt an F-ranker, as he may be powerful than you.”

“Well your also cocky old man, I guess you can be cocky, after all your a C+ rank.”

As I was walking towards the beast, Ann Marie immediately gripped my right shoulder, I then stopped my advance and turned to my right slightly.

“What is it, Anne Marie?” I asked.

“Don't even try playing a hero F-ranker, you may be strong but you still cannot defeat this beast.”

“What if I defeat this beast before it becomes mobile again.”

After hearing me say those words, Ann Marie laughed at me and spoke, “Hahahaha….are you joking cause its kinda funny F-ranker? Don't you know that there is no one who can defeat this beast without an army and a grand mage.”

“I don't need an army in defeating this beast, I only need these.” I then showed her two of my W54 grenades.

“What's a piece of molted tin gonna do with that beast?” asked Ann Marie who seems to not take me seriously.

“I'm going to blow this thing's head with this piece of tin. "

Voshkosh who has remained quiet suddenly spoke, “Now let's say if that thing your holding right now is effective, how can you even get up to its head. You told us that your target is its head, so how can you get up there? ”

“I'll jump up there,” I replied.

Voshkosh suddenly looked at me like I was some sort of crazy person.

“Come on, will you stop with the jokes already, this is a serious problem,” spoke Ann Marie who was literally not taking us seriously.

So I immediately asked, “How much time does this thing become mobile again?”

Ann Marie was kinda hesitant to tell us, but she told us anyway, “I would say within ten minutes, now can you stop pestering us with your jokes and go back with the others.”

After hearing the time, I immediately asked Xyra to put the timer on my heads up display. After seeing the timer appear at my sights left corner, I immediately looked at the old man and spoke.

“Get on my back old geezer.”

“What are you planning to do, Destroyer!?!” yelled Ann Marie.

I then replied to Ann Marie, “Finishing this mission that should have been over.”

“Let him be Ann Marie, a foolish F-rank is not a loss to us. But old man are you sure you wanna go with that guy? Even chances of failure are high.” Spoke Voshkosh with a tone, clearly telling us that he didn't care.

Old man Razor then climbed on my back and answered Voshkosh, “Well, young man do you think I was able to survive this long, if I made bad decisions in the past? ”

After the old man spoke, I immediately jumped leaving a trail of dust from the ground I was standing on before. This made the two girls surprised as they saw me leaped up high in the air by jumping, Voshkosh on the other hand, looked at us like a bunch of fools.

After reaching the highest height that my jump can reach I immediately created a momentum pushing myself towards the Megasaurus body. I then grabbed the scales that was large enough for me to grab with my hands, good thing that the space separating its scales was large enough to help me in climbing.

“Don't drop me kiddo, if I fall in this height I will definitely die.”

“Just don't move too much old man or you will definitely fall.”

After that, I manually climb the beast towards its head, good thing I don't need to worry about stamina and losing strength.
