EPISODE 2- ACCEPTANCE OF THE NEW REALITY

Inside dark hallway flashes from my AUG gun were visible. As I shoot down my enemies which has been identified as ghouls by system X. Each ghoul had had a level of 2, which help me increased my level significantly.

I thought I was unable to kill a single monster as I move deeper, was completely bs. It was actually the opposite of my thoughts that was happening right now. I was mowing monsters left and right, which I thought were kinda weak for the 35th floor of the dungeon.

Most of the monsters on the floor were one-shotted by my assault rifle, which boasts a .70 caliber bullet. All assault rifles in the game Destroyer were in the 40 caliber category, as the armor was too big to handle normal firearms. So the designers went crazy about what kind of weapons can be used.

The armor is heavily based on a juggernaut armor. Which explains it's bulky build and oversized body. But the armor can also be seen that it took inspiration from classic games, such as H*LO, and Crys*s.

According to the developers of the game each Destroyer armor, weigh around eight tonnes and has an average height of eight feet. The weight is explained by the sci-fi metals used in building the armor in the game.

This armor also has a sci-fi material Exoskeleton, to improve its balance and durability. The armor also follows the philosophy of tanks, as it uses composite armor, using fictional metals. It is said that a destroyer armor could survive a nuclear bomb, that is directly dropped on top of the armor.

This sounds very overpowered, but I think it was too early to say that. As I haven't tested the armor against an opponent who uses magic, which I think is the Destroyer's possible weakness. Most of the mobs I run into are weaklings and dumb.

I was now entering the 35th-floor boss den, where a door is the only one separating me from the boss. System X then spoke as I stood facing the door, “Philip, the place you are standing right now is a safe zone.”

“Safe zone?”

“A zone where mobs cannot attack you, it is normal for any dungeons. So adventurers could take a rest or prepare when they plan to stay longer in the dungeons. I suggest you use this zone to upgrade some of your skills, and stats before you approach the next floor boss.”

“You do have some point.”

I then open my status and saw the following.

Which skill should I upgrade first? Most of my skills are actually focused on stealth. Which is entirely the exact opposite of my status, which has clearly shown that I'm a tank, with my HP and strength.

This is very confusing what should I do? Wait, maybe system X can help me with this.

“Hey System X, do you have any suggestions which skill should I upgrade first.”

System X happily answered me and even explained each skill.

“I suggest your Crowd Control immunity from your passive Philip. This allows you to be immune to stuns slows of the enemy. ”

“Another is the Snipe, as it increases your chance to hit a critical attack on the enemy. It is also helpful, as it applies to any long-range weapons. Which is clearly your style of fighting.”

“Your overpower is also the best third choice, it grants you to increase all of your stats about ten percent for an entire minute. It also reflects ten percent of the enemy's damage, while it is passively activated.”

Wait, the last one is very useful especially against a boss. So I should put some points into that one, and then the other point to snipe. Why I choose snipe as the one I should upgrade, along with my passive skill overpower.

Because snipe is my only high damage skill. I then choose the two using my mind. I then used two skill points to overpower, and one skill point to snipe.

I noticed a sudden change in my status.

After upgrading my skills, I then went to my inventory and got some healing kits, as well as an anti-tank gun. I was not gonna be merciful against a boss, so in my mind, a boss might have tanky build. So I decided that the way to end the battle quickly was using this.

I can actually use my inventory while in combat, but I wouldn't be able to focus on my enemy if I am too busy checking my inventory. Plus it takes time for the items to materialize that I took out from my inventory.

I just took two anti-tank guns, which took about an eight-seconds each to materialize in my hands. So, therefore, I deduced that my abilities also have flaws. I also took some grenades and some suicide drones.

After all the items that I needed materialize, I then proceeded to walk towards the door. I then pushed the two giant doors effortlessly, which was kinda turn off, as I expect it to be heavier.

As I enter the room I then saw the first boss that I was gonna fight. It was a mummy, which was standing about a hundred meters away from me.

I dropped one of the anti-tank guns that I have brought out from my inventory. I then asked System X to assess the boss that I was facing.

One of System X's capabilities is being able to see the enemy's stats and skills. But she isn't able to know what are the details of the enemy's skills. But she can tell whether it's an aoe, buff, or a cc.

“Enemy assessment complete, here's what I found.”

A message board then appeared in my line of sight again.

What kind of joke is this? This supposedly boss is a level 35 but has lower a status than me. What the heck is going on? I'm only level three but my HP is higher than this boss, I guess I'll make this quick.

“But why hasn't that thing attacking by now?”

“Because you are still standing in a safe zone. You see that line in your feet. If you moved to the other side of the line then the battle will start, and you cannot return back to this safe zone.”

After hearing System X, I immediately got the anti-tank gun that I dropped. I then took a deep breath before I took one step, moving my feet to the other side of the line. But when that happened I saw the mummy dashed towards me with incredible speed.

The mummy's attack connected as he pushed me a few feet backward, using his entire body. I then tried to retaliate but was outspeed by the mummy, as he attacks me using his hand that is wrapped in cloth.

His attack scratch my armor, which left a mark on my chest plate. I then saw my HP dropped down to 31789. But I did not feel any pain after being attacked, I actually got kinda relieved after that. Why because I hate to feel pain, but yet I should not get cocky, as I am not invincible.

I then retaliated and shot my rifle at the mummy, which suddenly wrapped himself into a ball. Which made me dumbfounded as it successfully deflects my bullets, as he is in a ball form.

“What the hell! How am I supposed to kill this thing!”

“Philip, I think he is using his skill protection wrap and bounce.”

I then reloaded my rifle after I emptied my magazine. All that bullets wasted on an enemy that hasn't received any damage.

But as I was observing the mummy, it suddenly started to bounce aggressively. The mummy was bouncing so fast that my tracker in my HUD wasn't able to keep up.

It then started to bounce towards me which System X warned me. “Incoming attack.”

I then successfully avoided the bouncing mummy, by moving to my right. But I suddenly felt something hit me on my side. It was too powerful that I was thrown off balance, and fell. I did not feel pain but saw my HP go down again.

When I dropped down to the ground I immediately tried to stand up. But saw something from above coming at me with incredible momentum. It was too late for me to avoid it, so I tried attacking it, instead of evading it.

But I was too slow to aim my rifle, so I was struck hard by the ball. As the ball hits me, my armor or in this case was buried a few inches to the ground. Creating a c***k on the floor as dust flew in the air caused by the impact.

“Philip! your armor received a critical hit, your HP is down to 25000, and armor mobility is down by 20 percent. You must not receive another hit or the damage will completely downgrade your capabilities by 60 percent.”

As System X was talking the second strike was about to happen. The bouncing mummy that turned himself into a ball, was now ready to commence his second attack.

I looked at the mummy which would definitely completely make incapacitated, in its upcoming attack. Even knowing that I did not do anything, as I felt it was hopeless.

“WHAT ARE YOU! AN i***t! DO YOU KNOW IF YOU DIE NOW! YOU DIE! THERE ARE NO SECOND CHANCES! THIS IS NOT A GAME THIS A REALITY NOW!”

System X what are you talking about this is just a game. I would probably wake up back in my real world if I die here. Maybe that's just what I need to do to get back home.

“Sorry to say but that won't happen,” spoke an unfamiliar voice. The voice seemed to come from an old man. I then noticed that everything stopped, it's like time stopped.

I was then shocked after hearing the voice and saw everything stop. I then asked who was speaking to me.

“WHO ARE YOU? WHERE ARE YOU?”

The voice answered me, “I am the one who has sent you here, I am the one who you call God.”

“Then if you are the one who sent me here, then you can also send me back!?”

“I can, but this isn't the way Philip. If you want to return back to the old world. You must complete my task, which will provide you with the clues on how to return to your world.”

“Why don't you just tell me what is my task here?”

“That is for you to figure out, if you choose to die you die. There is no respawn and retry if you die here you die.”

I was then taken aback by what he said, I don't know how to feel about dying after hearing him. But I then asked this voice who called himself God.

“Then if I complete your task, then promise me that you will definitely return me back.”

“As you wish Philip, I God who is supreme to all, promises this man, a way back home after he finishes his task. Is that enough mortal Philip?”

“Fair enough!”

“Then I will take my leave, and try to survive in this battle, Bye-bye”

Suddenly everything returned and the flow of time continued. I then saw the bouncing mummy was just a few feet away. However, I still did not move an inch and let the mummy hit me again.

As the Mummy's attack connected again, I was buried again a few inches down the floor. However, the mummy wasn't expecting this. As the mummy who turned into a ball hasn't bounced up. I immediately grabbed him.

I then inserted my hands into the layers of cloth that he created while he was in a ball shape form. I then grabbed as much cloth as I can. I then gripped the mummy's cloth tightly.

“If I can't beat you with my weapons, why don't I beat you with pure brute physical strength.”

The mummy was taken by surprise after I completely immobilized him. This made him lose his advantage in speed and agility. My armor's capability might be down, but my physical strength hasn't downgraded.

“I am more physically powerful than you!”

The mummy then unwrapped himself from being a ball. I was surprised that I was able to get a hold of his arms. He was now showing his first form when I first saw him. I did not know what the mummy was doing but he moved backward and caused his arms that I was holding to stretch.

I felt something bad about it, but I still did not let go. After the Mummy reached the limit of his stretching capabilities. He then catapulted himself towards me.

But I took it like a man, and to my surprise the mummy received damage. Not only that but he was also stunned after he attacked me directly. I then saw a small Icon appear in my HUD. I then saw what the small icon was, it represented my passive skill overpower has been activated.

I did not waste any time in exploiting my passive while the mummy was stunned. Without any hesitation, I released my hands gripping the mummy's arms. I then grabbed the mummy's shoulder as fast as I could with my left hand. I then pulled him towards me and used my free fist, to punch him to the face.

Combine the momentum of my pulling power and punching power, I created a powerful strike that connected in the mummy's face. I then punched him in a downward motion, forcing the mummy's head to hit the floor.

Which created a hole in the floor, not only that but I also created a small earthquake. The mummy was still stunned, while its head was now buried in the floor. I then used this chance to finally end the boss. I immediately got a grenade and put it inside the mummy's mouth.

After a few seconds, the mummy's head exploded and I saw his HP disappeared along with his head.

A message board suddenly popped up in my field of view. “Congratulations! You have cleared floor 35.”

System X suddenly spoke, “You can use Skill evolution points to evolve your current skills, but they must be maxed out before you can evolve a skill. You can also use it to purchase skills, but you haven't unlocked the skill shop yet.”

“Wait I have a skill shop?”

“Yes but you must unlock it first, you also have to meet the requirement before you can open it. You have already reached one requirement that is to achieve level 10.”

Thank you, I thought I was gonna have to suffer from these compatible skills I have. Most of the skills I have are stealth-based and not compatible with someone with tanky stats. Also, most of my current skills are useless in combat if I'm outnumbered.
