EPISODE 37- Desperate

Karl who has now stood in front of the crimson phantom looked at his enemy with disdain. He then points his sword, at the crimson phantom who still has his creepy and terrifying smile.

Karl then answered the question that the phantom asked previously, “Even I'm killed by you we will still win this fight. ”

The crimson Phantom then spoke, “From the sound of your tone, you're very convinced that you would still win.” He then points his index finger at the magic circle and continued his speech. “Look at that young knight. Your friend there is struggling to fight with my minions. And there are those girls who will be completely engulfed by my army. So how could you confidently say that you would win?”

Karl didn't reply to the phantom instead he went into his combat stance. The Phantom let out a sigh of disappointment after seeing Karl's action.

“Good grief, humans are truly foolish.” spoke the phantom. Karl, on the other hand, looked at David who was just behind him a few inches and was on the verge of dying. “Just hold on longer, David. I'll make sure that everyone here survives.” Spoke Karl to David.

However, as Karl returned his attention to the phantom, he was immediately met by a powerful s***h that came from the phantom's sword. Gladly Karl was able to block it with his tower shield. The phantom then gave Karl a barrage of stages, creating multiple unpleasant ringing noises that would make you cover your ears.

If David was overwhelmed by the Phantom's strength this time, Karl had a disadvantage in speed. But even with that, Karl stood his ground and did not show a sign of giving up.

Seeing that Karl was not astounded by his overwhelming speed, the Phantom then started to speak to Karl. “What's this, you said you can win but you haven't even done even a single damage swing at me. Or what you just said before was just filled lies. Was that to give hope to your comrades? Then wouldn't you be bringing them to their demise? Then they will loath you for giving them hope after they die, and I'll make sure that you will be the only one to survive, so you could feel how much they loathe you.”

Karl suddenly loosens his blocks against the attack of the Phantom. After hearing the mocking words of the crimson phantom. Karl then spoke unto himself, “Am I in the wrong way of tackling things.”

The Phantom was surprised by this sudden reaction from Karl causing him to stop attacking and to speak these words to himself. “T-that was easier than I had thought.” The Phantom then continued to talk to the confused Karl. “I thought knight had more perseverance than that, I guess you truly are a failure.”

Karl suddenly dropped his sword and shield which he dropped above David's suffering body, creating a clank as the shield hits David's armor. It was very disrespectful to treat a dying friend. answered the Phantom, “Your right, I have failed as a knight and I even failed my comrades.” Karl then started crying after speaking those words. He then started to begged desperately that his face started to look like some ill-mannered child crying, “Please just kill me swiftly and painlessly along with my allies.”

Karl even took a step further, as he started to prostrate in front of the phantom. “Please! Please! Just kill us painlessly.”

“Then I shall do that, but I will start with you.” spoke the Crimson Phantom with a sly smile. The Phantom then raised his sword up high and was prepared to chop Karl's head off. “Then this will be quick, hehe…”

The phantom then swings his sword downward directly at Karl's neck. But as his sword was halfway through he immediately changed the direction of where he will hit Karl, which is Karl's right foot breaking his promise to kill Karl painlessly. The Phantom's sword which is in the range of the Phantom's sword.

However, as the sword was just a few inches in slicing Karl's foot, the Phantom was suddenly pushed away causing his sword to stop advancing in slicing Karl's foot.

Then the Phantom also let out a screech of pain as he was pushed away from Karl, who suddenly went from crying to showing a smug smile on his face. Karl then spoke, “It took you long enough to get the gist of the situation. ”

The Crimson Phantom then looked at his left side. He then had a dumbfounded look after he saw that an oversized sword was the one that struck him.

“I-Impossible this sword!” muttered the Phantom in a surprised tone, because of this he looked behind him. “YOU AGAIN!” screamed the Phantom as he saw David.

“It's a prank, bro!” spoke David which he immediately followed by yelling a skill. [Heavy Swing!] David then pulled out his sword from the Phantom's body and followed another but more powerful swing.

Causing the Phantom's injury to worsened as David's sword almost cut him in half. David then yelled, “This is your end, you bastard.” He immediately followed another strike using the same skill,[Heavy Swing!] However, the Phantom immediately countered it by using a skill for the first time, [Ghost!].

The phantom's injured see-through body became even more transparent. David's powerful strike using his sword just passes through the now transparent body of the Phantom.

David then clicked his tongue after seeing his attack fail, “Tsk! Why don't you just die already you fool.”

The Phantom then returned to his original almost see-through body. He then looked at David and Karl, he then asked then spoke. “I see now, you shitty knight you've been tricking me this whole time. So that's why you have chosen to throw that shield of yours to cover this berserker's body. So, I wouldn't notice his body's sudden disappearance. But I have one .ore question that I haven't figure out.”

“If you want to know how I didn't die, well I'll gladly answer you.” Spoke David with confidence.

“Oh, then I would be willing to list….” The phantom who was about to finish his sentence was suddenly attacked by Karl using his shield. The Phantom was now being pushed towards David who has already swung his sword towards Karl's direction.

The Phantom was quick as he immediately activated his skill [Ghost] to evade the incoming swing. Causing David's sword to hit Karl's shield with his sword, creating a loud clanking sound.

“You were too slow David, ” yelled Karl as the Phantom immediately went away from the two.

“Shut up! Karl, I was almost close to striking him down, but this guy's a slippery bastard.” Yelled David as he faces the Phantom and proceeds to dash.

Karl also did the same, both of them were now going in to kill the Phantom. The Phantom seeing the two, spoke with a vexed voice. “You two will pay for this humiliation!”

The Crimson Phantom then chanted a new skill, [Crimson Rage] the Phantom then started to become bulkier, and his hands which were turned into swords suddenly became bigger, it was almost the same size as David's. As David and Karl were near the phantom they were immediately greeted by a more powerful Crimson Phantom. Who attacked them both in one swing. Karl blocked it using his shield, while David used his sword to intercept the attack. This caused them to be both pushed back.

Their boots even left a trail on the ground after receiving the powerful blow. “Damn, he's even more powerful now,” spoke Karl who felt his left hand holding the shield shake. “You truly are a weakling Karl,” muttered David as his hands also shake.

“Just shut up, David!”

However, as they were prepared to attack the Phantom once again. Lucy suddenly yelled, “Guys! We can not keep this any longer, the girls are almost completely swallowed by the magic circle.” After telling the others, Lucy continued her fight on the crawlers.

Lucy's face already showed a sign of exhaustion, below her feet, where the body of crawlers whom she slew. Nonetheless, more crawlers were starting to pop up more and more. “They keep appearing my body is almost reaching the limit. ”

Karl and David whose attention were caught by Lucy looked at the magic circle. They then saw the girl's body was almost eighty percent inside the magic circle.

“Karl, what are we gonna do now!?!” Asked David with a desperate tone. “I don't know David, even we try to rush there, this guy would definitely be in our way.” Answered Karl to David's question.

As they were talking the Phantom suddenly launches an attack. Thankfully for them, they were able to react on time to block the enemy's attack.

David immediately complained at the Phantom, “Hey, that was rude can't you see we're talking here!!” The Phantom suddenly swings again his crimson swords towards Karl and David. Both of them were starting to become desperate as their strength was also fading each second passes.

David looked behind him, to see if Destroyer was still there. He then saw Destroyer still fighting. “Looks like mister Destroyer is not finished fighting the other guy. Damn it, we really need his help right now.” Spoke David after looking back at Destroyer.
