EPISODE 25- THE INN OWNER AND HER DAUGHTER

I looked at Sazar hugging her crying daughter tightly. This was probably very traumatic for Maya, seeing her mother thrown like that. I walked towards them and asked, “Who are those people, Miss Sazar?”

Miss Sazar who seemed to be still scared looked at me with a confused face. She probably wasn't able to recognize me due to my new look. Miss Sazar rubbed the tears in her cheek using her hands, after that she spoke.

“This voice! Mr. Destroyer!? What happened to you!?” She then created a forced smile, seeing her smile like this made me feel sorry for her.

“Yep, it's me miss Sazar, but who are those people? ”

Miss Sazar answered me, “Those are the people of the loan shark whom I borrowed money. They were here to collect my already late payment.”

Loan sharks, I guess they also exist in this world. But forcing a mother to give away her child was definitely wrong. “Why did you even loan from them miss Sazar?”

Miss Sazar showed me another forced smile and spoke, “Let's get you something to eat first before tell you the details. ” She then turned around and crawled back to her INN.

Maya followed and I followed her, after entering the INN, I immediately sat down to the chair in one of the tables. I then saw miss Sazar go towards the kitchen, Maya on the other hand, sat on the chair facing me.

I can see in Maya's eyes the fear and sadness after that event. I then pulled out of the bag of meat skewers I carried, I then gave Maya a skewer which I remembered that she loves so much. But Maya shook her head and looked down at her hands where she laid on the top of her lap.

Seeing this I still persuaded in giving her the skewer, “Come on Maya, I know you like these, don't be shy now. You still need to eat a lot to become strong.” Maya still replied with a shake of her head, I then saw her hands clenched her skirt.

Maya suddenly looked directly at me and spoke as she bowed her head, “Please mister! I beg you to train me!”

This caught me off guard, a girl asking to be trained, I only saw these things in movies. But how should I reply to this girl, who seems determined in learning combat? Her eyes were even licked unto me, meaning she was expecting to hear a reply immediately from me.

“Uhh…Maya you see fighting is not that easy, you have to train for years before being able to fight,” I spoke, and those words came from a gamer who spent his entire time playing in computers and consoles.

“I don't care how long it takes mister! But I would like the fastest route to achieving power as fast as possible. To protect mom and dad's memory from those people! ”

Maya seemed to be desperate, but the way she is acting is not the greatest way to learn. Her reason may be a good thing, but I fear her determination might lead her to danger.

“Maya are you…” Brrr~ as I was about to speak that sound interrupted causing me to stop. I then looked at the source of the sound which leads me to Maya, I saw her face turned red from embarrassment. After seeing this, I immediately grabbed the skewer again and offered it to her again.

“Here you go Maya, you should definitely eat before talking, especially when you're hungry. Just don't force yourself not to eat to look cool in front of people.”

Maya's face was still completely red as she receives the meat skewer. Maya then started to eat the skewer without looking at me due to embarrassment. As Maya ate the food, I immediately stood up and walked up to my room.

But before I went straight to my room I paused in the stairs and spoke to Maya, “Maya please tell your mother that I went back to my room if she asks. Also, tell her that I'm not gonna eat dinner, but I will have a private talk with her after dinner.”

Maya gave me a nod as she continued to devour the skewered meat I've brought. I also added, “Maya leave some for your mother.” After that, I continued to walk towards my room.

When I got into my room, I immediately dropped down to the bed that I haven't used, ever since I started living here. This caused dust to suddenly rise up in the air, giving the impression that my room does really need some cleaning. I then stood up again and cleaned my body from the dust.

I then opened my window which allowed me to see a great view of the street. I then saw the bloodstains and trails of blood that were dropped by the arms that I cut off. This suddenly gave me an idea, I know that this loan sharks wouldn't stop bothering Sazar and Maya.

So I'm gonna teach them a little lesson about instilling fear. “Xyra can you trace where that blood trail goes?”

“I can send the insect drones which are equipped with GPS, and a camera that can broadcast the live footage that is captured by the drone. ”

“Insect drones? Are those drones that look like an insect?” I asked Xyra, who replied, “Yes, it doesn't look like an insect it also captures the size of an insect, which is great when infiltrating enemy bases when you want to do it stealthily. This is one of the Z01 Assassin exclusive features that separates it from the MK IV.”

“You're really praising this new suit Xyra,” I spoke, where she Immediate replied, “No, I'm just telling you the facts about this armor, I'm still analyzing it though.”

“Whatever, just send in those drones to search those thugs.” Xyra then simply replied, “Affirmative!”

After that in my front, green glowing dust suddenly appeared out of nowhere and started to take shape. Few seconds pass by the drones were finally completed, their shape was of a Beatle. Suddenly a mini screen appeared in my HUD, the screen showed me looking at it. I then realize that the bugs were facing me, which explains why I am seeing myself in the mini-screens.

“This is fine Xyra, now go and locate those thugs, cause we're going to give them a visit.” The bugs then flew away after I spoke.

Xyra then asked me, “Do you want to observe the bugs yourself by seeing the mini-screens? Or would you rather have a notification telling you when we have located the target?”

“I would prefer to get notified when you find the location of the target. It's kinda annoying if I see the mini-screens always popping up.”

“As you wish sir,” the mini-screens in my HUD suddenly disappeared after Xyra spoke.

After that, I sat on my bed and started to examine my capabilities in this armor. I have become intrigued by the armor after I heard the word exclusive features. Surprisingly the armor had a virtual manual, but I got bored reading the manual for a few minutes when reading it.

But I did get some knowledge about this armor after reading that. For example, the two katanas behind my back are still the sword of Sol Invictus, it just got thinner smaller and was divided into two. Another is about the composition of my body. Another is the buffs that my body will provide to my skills, which was weird as I am used to skills being the one's buffing the body.

Now I am bored, but I realized that I still need to talk with miss Sazar, so I went back downstairs. I then saw miss Sazar cleaning the table while Maya carried the plates to the kitchen.

Sazar noticed me so she spoke, “Oh! Mister Destroyer I heard from Maya that you wanted to talk to me. ”

I then walked down the stairs and went straight to miss Sazar. I grabbed the stool and sat in it, miss Sazar also did the same. After placing ourselves comfortably, she then asked.

“What do you want to talk about mister?”

“Why did you take a loan from that loan shark, I know you don't want to tell me about it, but I'm here to help you miss Sazae, as I owe you for allowing me to stay here. Also, I can't lose the current INN that allows me to stay, so you can say that I'm not helping due to my kindness, I'm helping because my personal interest is affected.”

After hearing me miss Sazar thought for a bit, before giving a reply. After a few seconds, Sazar let out a sigh, before speaking.

“I guess I can tell you about it. I loaned from those people to save this INN, which I and my husband built together after we retired from our Jobs. I was originally an assistant herbalist to a court doctor before, while my husband was in the military.”

“We actually met during a war where my master was assigned in treating the soldiers. There I saw a wounded soldier laughing with his comrades, but I knew he was in pain from seeing his wound. So I immediately treated him, but I was surprised at what he spoke to me as I got close to him. It was quite strange that a human would call a demi-human beautiful at the first meeting, especially when we barely knew each other.”

Why'd you started from the love story of you and your husband? I just want to know how you got a loan from the sharks. Please don't tell me how you mated to, cause I don't wanna hear how a human got it on with a snake.

Thirty minutes passed miss Sazar finally got to the part where she loaned from the sharks. “After my husband died, I was forced to take the loan offered by the sharks in order to save this INN. I don't wanna lose this last memory of my husband and Maya's father. I tried my best to earn, I even hunted costumers to stay at our INN. But because I'm a demi, some humans started to feel uncomfortable staying in my INN. Because when my husband died, a new war actually happened it was between the war of the human kingdom and demi-humans.”

“A war between human and demi-humans? How long did that happen?” I asked to miss Sazar.

“It was four years ago, that war left a bad impression on demi-humans, causing the for humans to develop a distaste of our existence. That's also the start of the downfall of my INN, humans have never step foot once again at my INN. I then tried saving the business by loaning at some legal merchants, but all of them turned me away due to me being a demi.”

“So you have been denied by the legal loaners, so you have been forced to take the risk of loaning to the sharks, in order to save this business that you and your husband built?”

“Yes, that's how you can summarize it, so sorry if I took the long way of explaining the details,” spoke Sazar with a sad expression on her face.

After that Xyra suddenly spoke, “Sir, I have located the thugs.” She then filled my entire view with a map with a trail leading to a pub.

I stood up from seating and spoke to miss Sazar, “I'll be going out miss Sazar, be sure to not let anyone in except for the tenants.”

Miss Sazar asked me with a worried voice, “Where are you going? Don't tell me you are planning to go there…” Miss Sazar immediately dashed toward the door and blocked my exit.

“Please do not involve yourself any further, this is completely my fault Destroyer. ”

I let out a sigh and held miss Sazar in her shoulders. I then moved her easily to the left so the door could be opened. I then turned to my left and spoke to miss Sazar who was worried and scared.

“I told you, Ma'am Sazar that this was also affecting my personal interests, so I have the right to get involved in this problem of yours. Also, you don't have to worry about my safety, as I am going there to talk with the boss of those goons.”
