On the Mediterranean coast twenty kilometers east of Málaga, Spain
The next afternoon
Remi rubbed gritty eyes as she and Daniel sat in the back of a Spanish police car. Just a few hours before, Detective Chief Inspector Gupta had tracked down Sergio Ramon-Diaz via the Spanish antiquities office, where citizens had to get permits to import ancient artifacts. The office had given him Sergio’s address, which they forwarded to the local police.
An hour later, they received the news that he had been found murdered.
