Malekai and Cassie strolled down the block to the diner. Aunt Sam waved to them from the kitchen when they walked in and headed to their regular booth. Cassie slid in first, followed by Malekai, so they could both see the door. Aunt Sam came over with a smile and winked at them, making Cassie wonder what her aunt had up her sleeve. “You two are early,” Aunt Sam stated. “We are,” Cassie admitted. “I needed to take a break, and Malekai promised me a milkshake.
