“Can you describe this man?” the police officer asked Daniel twenty minutes later.
“No. I told you, he had a flashlight shining in my eyes the whole time he was there.”
“So he just appeared, threatened you if you didn’t do as he asked, and left. What exactly does he want you to do?”
Daniel and Griffin had come up with a reply for that question as they drove into town.
“He wants me to find a book that he knows my grandfather had. One that Gramps got from his father. I guess it’s supposed to be rare or something.”
“And he’s supposedly coming back tonight to get it. Doesn’t he think you’d be in contact with us about this?” the officer asked.
