I couldn’t help but be nervous. The Luna and I were in the elevator that led to the main lobby of the Alpha’s company. Jasper was anxiously pacing in the back of my mind. Never in a million years did I believe the Moon Goddess would bless me with a mate, not after being born rogue.
“Carter, your nerves are justified, but come on, man. You’re a trained and agile bounty hunter. I didn’t think you type of guys got nervous,” the Luna teased me.
“Luna, please, I’ve never been in a situation like this before.”
“What kind of situation is that, Carter? Having to woo a woman?”
“Yes.”
“Wow.” The Luna rolled her eyes and tried not to laugh at me, but I knew she wanted to.
“Luna, I don’t think you understand how easily I was able to obtain women.”
