Quickly, she sat up and pulled her legs closed, covering her naked bottom half as much as she could. Yanking her skirt down, she was mortified to be caught naked.
“I can explain!” Rose pleaded as Mara went around the room pulling objects from the shelves in a rage. Things smashed and crashed on the floor, sending shards of China and other objects flying in the air. Mara yelled “You best have a brilliant excuse for f*****g my husband” as she pulled the curtain down. Phineas was begging her to stop whilst Rose was attempting to get her knickers from the floor so she could try and leave them to fight amongst themselves. Mara stormed over from the window she’d just pushed a vase off a console table and spotting Rose reaching forward, stood on top of the fabric of Rose’s knickers. “No, you don’t!” Mara snarled at Rose, “You aren’t going anywhere, b***h!”. Rose looked up into Mara’s eyes and saw the hate behind them.
“Don’t talk to Rose like that!” Phineas said through gritted teeth to Mara, and the pair started to squabble between themselves. Mara seized an object near her, a paperweight and threw it at Phineas it hit his stomach and bounced back onto the floor. Phineas went down like a lead balloon as the impact of the heavy object hitting him winded him. Mara went over to him and started kicking him continually in the stomach until he stopped fighting back. Rose watched in horror if that was what she could do when she got angry with her husband. Using this as a chance to get her knickers back on, she got them off the floor and dressed.
“I didn’t know the two of you were a thing?!” Rose shouted to Mara once she was dressed to distract her from attacking and shouting at Phineas. It worked; Mara stopped but instead directed her anger towards Rose. Mara pulled out her wand from her pocket and aimed it at Rose.
“Bullshit!” Mara yelled back, as she got closer her wand pointed directly at Rose, “We are married! You must have seduced him with your stupid humanly ways. I know he’s not the brightest spark, but he’d never get with someone of such dirty blood” Mara’s wand tip glowed. Rose thought she was done for but then Mara span away from Rose and aimed it at Phineas. A stream of light came out of the end of her wand and wrapped around him when it disappeared, he was tied up by his wrists and feet with a gag in his mouth.
Mara’s wand was now pointing directly back at Rose’s face, “C’mon then, let’s see what a pathetic Faeman can do. Draw your wand!” she ordered.
“No, I’m sorry for everything but I don’t want to fight about it” Rose refused and attempted to leave the room.
“I said, DRAW your wand!” Mara shouted angrily. Rose was shaking, she wasn’t sure what to do and wondered even if she could do anything in her current emotional state. Rooting around in her pocket for the wand that kept slipping out of her sweaty, nervous fingers, she finally managed to get it out. The copper twisted wood was steadied in her hand the best it could, moving back as far as she could from Mara. Rose fired a beam of light out of her wand but instead of disarming Mara it accidentally hit the roof above her. The ceiling fell around her, Mara screeched, and a huge cloud of dust filled the room. Seeing this as the opportunity to leave, she quickly pulled up Phineas by his arm to his feet, his hands and feet still bound together, Rose helped him hop towards the door to safety.
Outside in the sunlight, it showed how dusty the room had been. Phineas was covered in a layer of dust, Rose’s hair looked white and the pair coughed and spluttered as the fresh air filled their lungs. Rose tried several times to remove the rope with her hands.
“It is magic binding. You’ll need your wand” he said with a very dry throat. Rose was nervous to try her magic again after how terribly it went inside. “Don’t be nervous. Just try, please. They are so tight” he begged.
Rose held her wand over his hands and tried different hand movements using her wand to remove the rope tying his hands together until one worked. The rope disappeared, not just from his hands but his feet too and so did the dust, somehow even though it was unbeknown to herself – she had done three magical things in one. Phineas sighed in relief; he rubbed his wrists were the binding had dug into his skin. He looked at her smiled, didn’t thank her and instead went straight back inside the house, presumably to find Mara. Rose couldn’t believe he had the audacity to have just done that, so she angrily marched back to her mother’s tree. I saved him and he goes back to the woman that just beat him she thought.
