Chapter 5
Solomon went to bed that night and m*********d, thinking of Mikhail and all their good times and s****l episodes and how they stumbled into love the first time, and so many times after. They were the first for each other, each taking the virginity of the other at sixteen. When Solomon first admitted to himself he was gay, he wanted to kill himself and went to Mikhail to say goodbye, but Mikhail talked him out of it as well as any experienced rabbi. It was always hard for Solomon to forgive.
The next day, he went to the employees’ gym again but didn’t last too long on the treadmill. He lifted a few weights and left to walk the deck and admire the sea. He met other off duty employees, and they ended up in the lounge to play board games and cards. It took his mind off of Mikhail,
