"He what? I hope you are not one of the victims of the mad man we are going to look for! How serious is the bite?"
She decided not to lie to him. Her very life was in danger.
"It is very serious. I need to go to the hospital because I am losing my blood like crazy and I am too weak to do anything about it. I will probably be dead by the time anyone finds me."
"Don't talk like that. I will be right there, let me call the captain and inform him of this. I am coming with the other policemen."
"I will be waiting for you, please."
"In the mean time, you can try to do something to stop the bleeding," he suggested.
She was about to tell him once more that she was too weak to do that when she noticed that she wasn't alone in the house. A tall, dark figure loomed over her bed.
She almost got a heart attack at the shock. Who entered her house without knocking? Heck, she never even had visitors who knocked!
And she never heard when the man came in.
"Lance!" she screamed in the mouth piece. "There's someone in my house! Please hurry over here!"
As soon as the last word left her mouth, her phone was knocked out of her hand by the large man.
