Chapter 7
I was frozen, a statue on the outside, yet my mind was racing. My eyes wouldn’t leave the bathroom door. I didn’t want to go in there, but I also knew that I didn’t want whatever was in there to come out. I kept my gaze on the door until a loud knock from across the room sent me flying off my chair.
I heard the front door open and someone running towards me. “Oh my God, are you okay?” It was Carmen. I had called her the moment I saw that thing in the shower, but she didn’t answer. I assumed the message I left was incomprehensible, which is why she was here.
Carmen took me by the arm and pulled me back up onto my chair. “Are you hurt? What happened? Was it a break in?”
