Chapter 02: the beginning!!! “Third person’s POV” Zeevia was seated on a window seat at the back of the almost empty speed boat. She was lost in thoughts while her eyes were fixed at the calm, blue water of the Maldivian ocean. The boat’s direction was from the international airport to the capital of Maldives; Malé. She snapped her head when her phone started ringing. A gentle smile played on her lips as she took the phone out of her black jeans’s pocket. Her lips stretched wider into a sparkling smile as her eyes fell on the caller ID, ‘Pa’. While answering the call, she held the phone near one of her ears. “Hello Pa, already reached Maldives. I am on my way from the airport to Malé,” Zeevia spoke in a low voice while her pupils were dilated in amusement. “When you reach, give me a call. I will come to pick you up. Currently, I am at my office, busy with signing some important documents.” The other side of the line was Zeevia’s father Mr. David William. David William was amongst the country’s well-known billionaires. Willam groups of the company were mostly based on tourism and it was successful not only among the country but worldwide as the company had multiple branches across the world. His wife, Vincley William died during the labor of their only heiress; Zeevia. Since then David hasn’t got married and was taking care of his daughter on his own. Despite handling a huge company on his own, he made sure to look after his daughter and his most important priority were to avail his precious time with his daughter. Zeevia was returning from London after completing her higher studies in business management and was ready to take over the responsibilities from her father’s head. It was a big day for both of them; David’s 65th birthday. The day David would be officially retired and he will hand over the business to Zeevia. Crossing the calm, crystal clear water of the sea; while splashing sparks of tiny drops of saline water, the speed boat brought its journey to an end when it reached the destined island. Zeevia was restless to surprise her father on the special day. Once she stepped into the busy city; Malé, she hurried to get an empty taxi and when she succeeded stopping one, she bulged inside of it. She didn’t give a ring to her father. Rather, she wanted to decorate her home prior to her father’s arrival. On the way home, she grabbed a cake from a bakery, some flowers, and balloons from a shop next to the road. When the taxi’s four wheels ceased to the fore of a large building; her home, she hopped out of the taxi after paying for the driver. She entered the huge empty house while grinning like a Cheshire Cat and started decorating the enormous living room with multiple colors of balloons and flowers. After signing the documents, David went directly to meet the alleged family doctor, as he received a call asking him to review some of the previously taken blood samples. When he entered the doctor’s room, after seeking permission, his eyes fell on the gloomy face in front of him. The doctor was sitting near his large desk placed in the center of the room. Sorrow was clearly written on his face. David began his pace inside and ceased his steps right beside the Doctor. Dr. Malon motioned David to look into the computer screen in front of him. David leaned a little closer to the screen. When he got a glance at the word ‘liver cancer’ he fell off guard to the floor, losing his balance due to a sudden heart attack. Zeevia’s phone started ringing, causing her to tilt her head towards the lavish, brown-colored handbag lying on the luxurious coach placed in the midst of the living room. She took her phone out of the beautiful handbag. While answering the call, she kept the phone on speaker and placed it on top of the transparent-glass coffee table, near the huge black-furred coach. “Hello, Jack. Where’s Pa? I am already at home waiting for him,” she spoke in a hurry while revealing the restlessness she had. After waiting for a bit to hear a reply, Zeevia added in a bit louder voice, “hello? Jack? Hello!” The phone got disconnected. She hurried her work with the hope of, her father would be here at any time. An hour passed, but her father didn’t return. She kept giving multiple rings to her father’s phone, but there was no response. Fully disappointed, Zeevia sat on the coach, supporting her perfect shaped face from both of her hands. That’s when a knock came on the door. She hopped in joy as she thought her wait was over. She went towards the door half running in astonishment. Beaming, she twisted the doorknob and opened it. Her eyes got almost moist to witness Jack standing at the door. There was no trace of David. She stepped out and searched two sides of the huge entrance. Wrinkles formed across her forehead when she couldn’t get to see her father. David never made Zeevia wait this long. Zeevia’s heart was racing faster as she noticed the grief on Jack’s face. Jack kept observing Zeevia’s behavior. His eyes were almost full of tears ready to fall in no time. He deeply cared for Zeevia but at the same time he was forced to obey his father, Sebastian. Jack had no intentions of harming Zeevia. Sebastian’s greediness was causing much damage to Jack. The love Jack had towards Sebastian was making him helpless. Zeevia came back to Jack. The wrinkles formed on her nose became more visible while her lips were pursuing in confusion. Jack’s father, Sebastian Ortiz was David’s closest friend since he moved to the city. Sebastian worked initially as a personal assistant of David for the last 20 years. After Sebastian’s wife’s death, he took Jack with him every time he had to come and serve his master, David William. Jack and Zeevia got to see each other often causing them both to become best friends since childhood. “Where’s Pa, Jack? Tell me,” Zeevia yelled while maintaining eye contact. Jack stood motionless. Soon the tears formed in his eyes betrayed him and started to fall down to his manly cheeks. Deep down Jack knew the news he was about to give will make Zeevia devastated. Zeevia frowned while adding, “where’s Pa? Are you going to tell me or not?” she started begging while tears started to fall from a corner of her eyes. She went closer to Jack, held his both muscular arms, and began to shake him while adding, “I don’t like pranks. Especially which involves my Pa,” she warned Jack, her brows were knitted to one another. Jack kept thinking of a better word to lay the desolating news in front of Zeevia. He kept gawking for a moment, and spoke, “he had a heart attack and due to that.....” he released a long puff of air before adding further, “Master is no more.” Jack revealed. Jack’s words kept echoing in Zeevia’s ears while the whole world kept spinning on top of her. Soon darkness invaded inside her eyes, causing her to lose balance and fall on the floor.
