CHAPTER NINETEEN At the sound of the assault rifle being primed, Remi froze. There were four of them now, arranged in a semicircle around the door on her side of the cab. The other two were still on Mekonnen’s side. Their contact said something in Arabic, hopping out. Suddenly everyone was talking at once, a flurry of words that meant nothing to her. She held up her Bible, tried to put on a smile, and climbed out of the cab. The officer barely looked at her. Instead, he pointed to Daniel. “You! Out!” Daniel hurried to obey. Remi glanced in the cab and noticed that the plastic bags containing their guns were clearly visible under the seat. All the soldiers would have to do would be to get curious enough to open one. The officer grunted and nodded his head toward the concrete building
