The Fairy & The Thug #4

2940 Words
Daisy looked down at her cup, a little bit concerned. Was sparkling water supposed to be a soda? The girl who had given it to her said it was fine, but no matter how she looked at it, it was really fizzy for something that wasn't a soda... It smelled sweet, too. The young fairy sighed and tried to squeeze her way into the kitchen. She had done everything as Eric said! She had picked up some nice and cute clothes, an off-the-shoulder puffy top that she really liked and a long pair of jeans, both with some cute flower embroideries. With her older sister's help, she had put her pink hair in a big braid over her shoulder and even applied a little bit of makeup, just like human girls do. She wore a pair of platform shoes, too, to be a little bit taller and not be the tiniest one in the room. When she arrived, she had actually felt really good. Her class representative had welcomed her nicely, though she was surprised Daisy wasn't costumed. As it turned out, no one was! Daisy was a bit relieved to have followed Eric's advice to put on normal clothes, only letting her wings out. One thing Daisy hadn't thought about, however, was how walking around in a crowd with fairy wings would be so complicated. Her wings were long and transparent and as she walked around, she had to focus on keeping them folded against her back instead of extending them like she wanted to. At school, she was okay because she usually tucked them under her jacket. Here, it was as if she had to constantly keep her shoulders high or keep her elbows against her body. It felt very unnatural and uncomfortable. The place was very crowded, too. She hadn't thought there would be so many people present! She recognized almost every face from her class, but a lot of other sophomores were there, too. Some were giving her weird looks, surprised to see her there, but Daisy did her best to salute them politely and smile. She was glad the music was so loud. It wasn't really the kind she was used to, but at least since the room was so noisy, she didn't have to force herself to talk to people to not stand out. Most of the young people were loudly chatting in groups, dancing, or playing games with balls and beer cups. There were so many people moving all the time that no one had time to pay attention to her. First, Daisy thanked the person who had invited her, but the girl was already with her friends and didn't seem to want to talk to her for too long. Hence, Daisy politely left for another area of the house. She found her first destination: the little buffet! She grabbed some baby carrots to nibble on and a clean, empty cup. Daisy remembered Eric's words so precisely that she could have recited them by heart. Hence, she was very careful to stay away from the alcohol and only helped herself to what was water, even checking the taste with her tongue first. After a while, she had found a game to watch, with the two teams being quite involved and a little crowd cheering. Daisy actually had some fun watching and cheering for them, even if she couldn't really understand the rules, aside from every loss resulting in a shot of alcohol. The teams switched several times until two boys started fighting over one of them cheating. The game was somehow forgotten to watch the fight, aside from Daisy, who had walked away the second they had grabbed each other's collar. After a quick stop by the bathroom, she realized she had lost her drink, and when she had tried to get another one, her classmate had given her this sparkling water... She couldn't even tell by the taste if it was okay for her to drink it or not... "Hey, pretty, don't you want to dance?" Daisy raised her head, a bit surprised. Two boys, not from her class nor from her school, were facing her with wide smiles. As a reflex, Daisy smiled back. "No, thank you!" "You're really a fairy? I've never seen one! Is that your real hair? The color is so... pink." "It's pretty, he means; really pretty!" "Oh, thanks," replied Daisy, brushing her hair with her fingers. She really liked her hair, too, so she enjoyed getting compliments about it. She started explaining how she took care of it with some natural oil and both boys kept nodding, though she couldn't tell if they were really listening. They looked a bit... drunk. She frowned a bit. What would Eric say in that situation? They weren't being too mean or intrusive, though. Daisy was a bit unsure. "What are you drinking?" Asked one of the guys. "I think it's sparkling water." "Sparkling water?" He laughed. "It's a party! You have to drink something better than that, fairy girl!" Daisy didn't like being called a fairy girl. She frowned, but the guy took her cup away, and before she could react, he started pouring something that reeked of alcohol in it and forced it back into her hands. "Here you go! No need to thank me!" "I don't want to thank you," said Daisy. "I didn't want alcohol, so why did you do that?" "Come on, it's a party! You need to drink at parties!" "Who said that?" "What?" "Who said you have to drink at parties? I didn't know there was a rule like that. I don't like it." The two boys exchanged a glance, confused by this fairy's weird reaction. Her smile was gone, and now, Daisy was almost glaring at her cup, clearly unhappy. However, drunk as they were, they didn't think anything of it. One of them even raised her cup a bit. "Come on, don't be like that! It's fine if you drink a bit, no one is watching you! It will help you relax a little, too! You'll feel much better, trust me! Look at us! Don't we look like fun, cool guys?" "Not really," said Daisy in pure, blunt honesty. "You just look drunk to me. You're not very funny." "Hey, you're a bit rude, fairy girl! I didn't think fairies were so stiff!" Daisy pouted. She had enough. She ignored them and turned away, going to the kitchen. There, she poured the contents of her drink in the sink and filled it again, this time with pure tap water. She was upset. She had tried so hard to be careful, but now, people took her drink to fill it with alcohol! So rude of them! "Hey, why the heck are you throwing away this vodka! We paid for it, you dumb fairy!" Daisy turned to them, angry. "I am not a dumb fairy! Dumb yourself!" She shouts back. "Why did you put it in my drink when I didn't ask for it? I don't drink alcohol, and I don't like it! I didn't want it! This is all your fault, why are you getting mad at me? You're not funny at all, you're very annoying!" They obviously hadn't expected her to argue back and they were both stunned at Daisy's angry face. However, a lot of people had heard her high-pitched voice yelling at them and getting yelled at by a fairy was so embarrassing! They exchanged looks, annoyed. Why was that stupid fairy talking back to them? They had thought she would be amusing to mess with a little, not that she would actually have the balls to argue back and get mad at them! One of the guys stepped forward and grabbed Daisy's arm, unhappy; he wasn't fine with being scolded by a fairy at all! He thought that acting angry and scaring her a bit would have Daisy regret her actions and apologize. Maybe she'd cry, but he didn't care at all. He was mad and wanted to save his reputation before everyone made fun of them for being scolded by a fairy! "Hey, don't you talk back to us like that! Who do you think you are? Huh?" He yelled at her. Daisy looked at the hand on her wrist, upset. Was this guy trying to hurt her now? She didn't like violence, but somehow, she didn't want to be a helpless, dumb fairy! She took a deep breath. "Aim, close your eyes, and kick," she muttered for herself. "What are you... ugh!" Daisy had done exactly as she had said. Fixing on his private parts for a second, she had then closed her eyes and quickly kicked up. She knew she had hit her target when the tip of her compensated shoe had met some thick fabric with something inside. Moreover, the guy's muffled cry was also a pretty good indicator of her success. His face turned red, then completely white. When Daisy reopened her eyes, he was holding his crotch and biting his lower lip; his cheeks looked as if he had eaten two big balloons. Daisy felt a bit sorry as she really hated violence, but this guy had started it! At least her arm was free now. While the other boy was trying to help his friend up, she squeezed to the side, trying to find her way back into the crowd, where there were too many people for anyone to care about her. Moreover, she thought it would be best for her to avoid those guys for now... She got outside, to the little terrace, where everyone was hanging out around the pool. Some boys and girls were actually in their swimsuits and enjoying the pool. Daisy wasn't very fond of this kind of artificial water place. She didn't understand why humans put so many chemicals in their ponds instead of going to natural sources and taking care of them. She tried to be forgotten a little bit, watching the little balloon game taking place in the pool. Just as she found a little spot to the side where no one really seemed to care about her, she saw a couple of people rushing in her direction. She felt a bit worried. The girl who had invited her was followed by the friend of the guy she had kicked... Daisy wondered if they were going to try and yell at her too. She was right. The girl was actually furious. "You dumb fairy! How dare you go and kick someone! We may have to call the medics because of you! Did you do it on purpose? To ruin my party? I was nice enough to invite you, and you do this? Really?" Daisy felt a bit sorry for ruining this girl's party, though she felt like it wasn't ruined at all. She didn't want to stay quiet. She had understood that staying quiet would only solidify her reputation as the "dumb fairy." She shook her head. "No, I don't want to ruin your party. I didn't want to kick him, but his friend put some alcohol in my drink and I didn't want it. So I went to get water instead, but they got mad at me for throwing the vodka away. They grabbed my arm and called me a dumb fairy, so I reacted by kicking him in the chestnuts." "Who do you think you are to kick him! If you're handed alcohol, just drink it! This is a party, you can't even understand that much? Huh? Why did you come if you don’t even drink?" "I didn't know there was an obligation to drink alcohol. I wouldn't have come if I knew you wanted all the guests to drink alcohol. I really don't drink alcohol. I think it's a bit lame to have everyone drink what you want. It would be more fun if we can drink whatever we want." The girl was red from listening to Daisy. Actually, other people at the party had started listening, too. Daisy's composed and honest voice didn't match the girl's angry tone at all. The other seemed completely crazy and irrational. Some of the young people in the pool thought so, too. "Hey, knock it off. They were wrong for making her drink in the first place!" "You can drink whatever you want, fairy girl, it's cool!" "Thank you," said Daisy, turning to them. "My name is actually Daisy, though." "Hi, Daisy!" Giggled a girl in the pool. "Don't listen to her, she's just mad because it was her boyfriend that was hitting on you. Come on and play with us!" "Ah, sorry, I don't really want to..." The other girl, who was still there, reacted immediately. "You don't want to drink, you don't want to swim. You're so dumb and boring, fairy girl! Don't you like pools? There you go!" She suddenly went to push Daisy into the pool, but by doing so, she had underestimated Daisy's balance and hers. She pushed too hard and was too close to the edge. Daisy fell over, but her reflexes took over. Her wings suddenly flapped wide apart, and she flew above the pool, while the girl, who had tried to push her in miserably fell face first into the pool. Everyone around laughed loudly or cheered for the fairy. Daisy was now using her wings, flying above the pool, watching the poor girl trying to swim and screaming. Finally, some nearby boys took pity and came to help her get out of the pool. However, she was now drenched and the whole crowd laughing at her, while Daisy was still flying above them and getting a lot of attention for her graceful wings. "You get the f**k out of my party!" Yelled the girl before running back inside. As soon as she was gone, Daisy sighed and came down to the ground. A lot of other people immediately ran to her, impressed by her wings or her calmness when talking back to that girl. However, Daisy was very uneasy about all this. She felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. As soon as she could, she got out of the little group gathered around her and tried to find her way back to the front door. A few people were actually smoking on the front porch, so Daisy didn't stop and just walked out to the street. She didn't know what time it was. She didn't own a smartphone, but she remembered where the closest shop was from what she had seen on her way there. It was a typical little corner store open late into the night, where people would grab a late coffee or some snacks. Daisy kept walking, and sure enough, found her way inside that shop. Now that it was night time, she felt a bit colder. She only had a little bit of money on her, enough to buy herself a little tea to warm herself up. The lady working the counter was actually nice enough to give her a little glazed donut too, as a freebie. Daisy thanked her and found a little spot by the window to sit and drink her tea. A little TV displaying the news showed it was barely ten o'clock. Daisy sighed. How long until Eric would arrive at the party, not find her there, and come here to get her? She felt a bit lonely and really wanted to see him. She was also a bit worried Eric would think she had acted recklessly at the party or made some mistake... After a few minutes of absolutely nothing happening, and Daisy only nibbling on her little donut and sipping her tea slowly, some bikes showed up at the end of the street. A whole bunch of them, actually! They parked in front of the shop, and Daisy had her eyes opened wide. Real bikers! With tattoos, big bikes, and beards! She almost wanted to run outside and watch them from up close, but her current spot was pretty good too. However, she saw a handful of them get off their bikes and walk inside. She then realized one of them was younger and very familiar to her. "Eric!" "Daisy... What are you doing here, sweetheart?" He asked, worried, walking up to her. Daisy was all smiles as soon as she spotted Eric. She ran to him, putting her arms around his neck as if it was the most natural thing in the world and hugged him. The young man was a bit worried, but hugged her back. "I'm so happy you're here," she said. "Yeah..." Eric was about to ask again, but before he could, Daisy kissed him, leaving him speechless. That fairy was getting blunter every day! However, this time, he didn't let himself be as surprised, and answered her kiss back. Eric had somewhat grown accustomed to Daisy's odd reactions, and he actually enjoyed doing his share of kissing. Moreover, the young fairy hadn't experienced a real kiss from him yet. This time, he took the lead, forcing her lips to keep up the wild rhythm, making her blush and her heartbeat flutter. Eric smiled against her lips when he felt her going weak and trying to get away a bit. He ended the kiss with his tongue and a smile. This time, Daisy was the one all flustered, a bit out of breath and blushing. "You bad girl," he chuckled. "You're the bad boy," she answered, her cheeks as pink as her hair. "Come on, let's get out of here. You'll tell me what happened and who I need to beat up."
