Chapter 8“What do we do now?” Melina asked in a whisper. “We get the hell out of here!” Bing replied grimly. He jumped out of the car, saying as he did so, “I’ll have a look round and see if the coast’s clear.” Melina suddenly felt terrified of being left alone. She scrambled out of her side of the car and tried to run after Bing who was already climbing up the rocky incline that rose sharply behind the car towards a number of stunted trees. As the ground was sandy, Melina’s satin shoes were soon full of grit and sand, and by the time she reached Bing’s side she was limping.
