LINCOLN   Yes, just as I assumed, kissing her good night yesterday was a great mistake and I wish I could turn back the hands of time.   There was this awkward feeling between us this morning when I went to pick her up, she was a bit shy and with every step she took, she apologized. I shouldn't have ignored my guts when it told me not to kiss her, but I guess being tempted by her lips was too difficult for me to ignore.       “Have you had breakfast this morning?" I asked her, breaking the silence between us.       “No, not yet, Jaycee wasn't able to make breakfast this morning. He had some issues at home so I permitted him to come late.” She replied to me, her eyes fixed on the road and I smiled.      “Then if you are not in a hurry, we could stop at a restaurant and grab some food and coffee too," I suggested.  She nodded in agreement with a smile on her face.       "It seems you didn't get enough sleep last night," I observed, turning the rear mirror to look at her more. She didn't apply makeup on her face today but all the same, she still looks stunning as ever.      “Oh my, is it that obvious? I should have applied some makeup on if I knew it was going to be this pronounced,” she exclaimed, looking at herself in the mirror.        “It doesn't matter, you still look beautiful as always… I… I… mean you look good no matter what." I stammered and she giggled       “It's alright, thanks for the compliment. I just have to hide it so that I won't be answering some questions from Miss Karen, she acts more like a mother to me than a secretary,” she complained.        “It's nice to have someone nag you and make you feel like a child again, I love how she portrays a motherly role to you,” I commented.       “Yeah me too, I love it, but I can't tell her that, it will only boost her ego and she won't stop nagging me.” She said and we both burst out laughing.       “So… mind telling me why you weren't able to sleep last night?" I asked.       ”Nothing much, I collected some work from my staff and worked on it all night.” She said and a sigh of relief escaped me.   I thought she was awake because of the kiss, it made me felt bad, for keeping her awake all through the night. Now I'm grateful it's because of work, not my kiss.        “You should slow down, you don't want to break down and get yourself sick or something,” I said.   I worried about her and I know she could tell by looking at me.        “Don't worry Linc, I'll be fine. You know I am a fighter.” She replied.  We stopped at the restaurant, while I was ordering our food, she excused herself and went to the restroom. I knew she was going to apply some makeup to cover those bags under her eyes.    I almost laughed aloud but had to control myself because of my surroundings. I couldn't believe she is more scared of Karen than her aunt.   I waited for her to come back, as the waitress already served the food. I couldn't eat because she wasn't around and soon I heard footsteps coming from the direction of the restroom and I raised my head to see her walking majestically towards our table. With the makeup on, she looked more elegant and classy.      “Sorry for keeping you waiting, let's dig in.” She said and she took the mug of coffee.       “Be careful it's…..” Before I could finish telling her that it's hot she was already dropping it on the table, after which she placed her hands on her ears blowing some air into it.   That's one of the silly habits I love about her that she doesn't know. She always does that when she eats hot food. Another one is, whenever she's seeing a movie, she always folds her legs and grabs a cushion that she hits anytime she is excited, angry, or scared. Another one is she always kicks her feet when the food is delicious and her eyes always twitch when she is eating something sweet.       "Linc, are you okay?" She tapped my hand drawing my attention from my thoughts.      “Yeah, I am fine. Sorry, I was lost there for a minute, what were you saying?” I asked her.        “Dummy, you should have told me it was hot before I sat down. You failed to protect me this time." She said, pouting her lips and I smiled.        “Sorry love, let's eat before it gets cold,” I said and soon we were done with breakfast.    I drove her to her work as soon as we were done.         “Thanks, Lincoln Aiden for driving me to my workplace. I hope to see you soon, especially at the art gallery. I will be pretty busy this week and next week. Don't forget next week Friday, is the art gallery night. Remember white is the dress code. Annyeong." She said her goodbye in the Korean language.   She entered her office building and I drove off to see Mr. Robinson for further discussion about the business.    Well, I have to suck it in even though I know I will badly miss her, I have to allow her to work hard on accomplishing her father's dream. After the gallery night, I'll take her out for dinner and ask her to be my girlfriend. Slow steps because I plan on making her my future and my dream too. CAMILLA AVERY         “Miss Karen, if you get kissed by a friend what does it mean?” I asked Karen the moment I sat on my seat to begin today's activities.   It has been bothering me ever since I was dropped by Lincoln. For the first time, I couldn't concentrate on the meeting.   My mind kept lingering on the kiss we shared, though it wasn't passionate. I could feel the hotness and sensation the kiss did to my body and I couldn't sleep all through the night, thinking if it was a friendly kiss or if there was a meaning to it.    Does Lincoln have feelings for me or is he just messing with me? All this thought has been going through my mind and it was weighing me down.    Today it felt like he was hitting on me. The names he called me and the way he treated me, it was as if he was leading me on to something, or was my mind playing a big deal on me?       “Depending on the situation, I can tell you more if you tell me the situation you were in?” Karen asked and I turned my chair to have a clear view of her.       “It was… hmm don't worry Miss Karen,” I said, shaking my head, I don't want to have hope when I know nothing will come out of it.       “Oh come on ma'am, I want to know, plus you wouldn't have told me if it wasn't bothering you. I noticed today that you weren't concentrating in the meeting, so I had to record it with my phone and I'm only going to give it to you if you share what's on your mind and who kissed you.” She said with a smirk and I knew I had no choice but to tell her.       “Fine, remember I told you I had a date last night, a pretend date with my best friend. So we went to my favorite restaurant and he kissed me good night, when he dropped me off at my place, saying it was a fake kiss. Today he acted like the kiss never happened but he kept teasing me and confusing my brain. Now I want to know if he has feelings for me or not?" I asked her.          “He might be having feelings for you or he might be in the mood of pretending that it was a fake date.”          “Who would fake a kiss with their best friends?” I was confused with what Karen was saying.          “I do and it means nothing, except you have feelings for the said friend, that's why you are allowing it to affect you." She said and I shook my head.           “No!!! I don't, I don't have feelings for Lincoln, he - he - he is just a friend.” I denied.           “Liar you do have feelings for him, you can't hide it. Your nose twitches when you lie and you can't stop playing with your hands when you lie.” She said pointing to my flaws.           “Fine, you got me, I accept I have feelings for him," I replied, surrendering to her. No matter what, she will always find the truth out.            “Since when did it all start?”           “Since the day of our fresher's party,” I answered her.          “No way, you've had a crush on him or you have by that long and you didn't tell him you loved him?” Miss Karen asked, perplexed.           “He was dating, I just found out that he is single now," I replied.           “Hmm, so will you tell him?"           “Yes I have to tell him but not now, it will be a surprise after the art gallery night. I will let him in on everything and then ask him to be my boyfriend." I opened up to Karen and I stood up immediately, giving her a tight hug.           “Thank you very much, Miss Karen, you just made me realize that I want him more than anything. I'm grateful, now my thoughts are clear, can you give me the recordings I need to get to work?”     I asked her and she handed it over to me, thanking her before leaving.      I have to make the art gallery event a successful one if I want to ever confess my feelings to Lincoln Aiden.
