“Dinner with a lycan.” Kayleen held her breath, locked eyes with Kingston but could not control her frantic heartbeat when not just Kingston but his lycan proposed that she have dinner with him. His chocolatey eyes had grown darker with a slight hint of redness, hiding endless secrets and emotions in their depths. When they peered down at Kayleen instead of freaking out, she got lost in the depths of their beauty. Countless powerful Alphas and princes had knelt before her, begged for her attention, offered their hands and laid their hearts at Kayleen's feet, yet Kayleen's heart only beat for this lycan. Kayleen managed to get her heart and mind under control enough to open her mouth to speak. “I wonder what dinner is like with a lycan? There is no table, no candles, and no food. What is the Lycan Prince about to feed me?” She raised her brows slightly. “My Mana,” Kingston remarked. “What?!” Kayleen’s face blanched right away. He wanted to feed her his Mana?! Mana was personal, few had the supernatural powers to manipulate it as it was one’s lifetime source and turning it into substantiation was not something everyone could achieve. The substance itself had unimaginable power, it could even bring life to the dead, swap souls, and create a path for reincarnation. “Are you ready?” Kingston gripped tighter around her waist. Kayleen did not have time to react before she found herself flying in the air with him. “Kingston!!!” she cried in fear, wrapping her hand tightly on his coat. With a glance she found herself standing in the air. If one fell, their death was fixed, but the man holding her like his life had no hesitation or fear. “Don’t be scared you will not fall,” Kingston assured her while looking deep into her eyes. “You…you can fly?” Kayleen's eyes became perfectly round, not understanding how much power Kingston held. He was a living monster in the world. He had both lycan and wizard powers. Some bright divine energy had surrounded them like a shield that was emanating from Kingston’s body. Like a slave, that energy had been obeying his command. “It’s a spell,” he chuckled, brushing the hair back from her face. “What if we fall down?” Kayleen’s chest rose and fell in panic. “The first time I held this hand I decided that I would hold it even in after life, Kayleen,” Kingston smiled. Kayleen blinked at how breathtakingly handsome he was under the moonlight. His arms were around her like a shield around her that could not let a single scratch on her body. Kingston felt Kayleen’s body shivering less. She also loosened her grip on his coat and just kept looking into his eyes, leaving her life in his hand. “You believed me,” Kingston’s lips raised into a smile. The energy around them got brighter and stronger because of Kayleen’s trust on Kingston. “I just….” Kayleen's cheeks blushed as she looked away from him. Soon the weather seemed to want to rear its ugly head but the moonlight was shining directly over both of them. “What is happening?” Kayleen looked at the area around them that changed. “It’s my Mana,” Kingston raised his hand up to absorb the energy that appeared to be coming from the Moon. “In order for me to share it with you, I will have to keep you close to me. Any kind of interruption would cause you death, so bear with me,” Kingston explained, but Kayleen had caught him using every bit of his wizard powers for her sake. What if he ended up hurting himself? “NO! That’s crazy!” Kayleen exclaimed. Her heart threatened to jump out of her chest over the fact that his lycan had pushed all his energy towards her like an insane beast. “Why are you doing this?” Kingston looked down at Kayleen, shaking her head to stop him. Her worried blue eyes were full of concern for him. “I refuse to let you die, Kayleen,” Kayleen’s jaw dropped at the insane smile that came over his handsome face. So he had been planning to share his Mana with her since the day he discovered that she was dying. “Sharing such divine power with no one like me is absolutely absurd!” she argued. “No one, you say? You are my everything Kayleen,” Kingston touched her cheek. Kayleen’s heart skipped a beat at his confession. She held her breath at witnessing the possession and obsession in his eyes for herself. Since birth she had just been a burden, tossed from one person to another. This was the first time she was someone’s everything. He wanted to pull her from the gaping mouth of death. “Why do you want to share your Mana with me?” Kayleen whispered as she raised her hand, placing it on Kingston’s cheek. If only she could lie to herself and say that this man was playing with her like Wallace. If only she could call his possessive gaze an act. If only she could proclaim it just lust, not something that she saw in him. Their faces were a mere an inch apart from each other , their lips almost touching. “Because you are mine, Kayleen,” Kingston raised her face up, gently capturing her lips. “Mine, so you have to live,” he declared. Kayleen’s eyes remained open in surprise, she could not tear her eyes from Kingston’s Lycan’s eyes. They had claimed her as theirs. To a divorced, scandalous she-wolf like her that was still stuck on her first love. However, Kingston seemed to be dominating Kayleen’s past feelings for Wallace. What was this feeling that she had been experiencing in her heart? She was scared but at the same time wanted to remain like that in his possessive hold for as long as possible. Kayleen closed her eyes, kissing him back as she felt her whole body under his spell. Kingston grazed her soft mouth, slowly entering her hot mouth. His fingers dug into her hair and her nails into his chest as the heat between them increased. “It’s a full moon,” Kingston broke the kiss. As soon as Kayleen looked up at the shining moon she felt her body falling. She bit her lip and tightly closed her eyes. They were about to fall to the ground but no fearful screams escaped her lips. Kingston grabbed her from a waiting death but she felt her body dropping onto something soft. Kayleen opened her eyes slowly only to find herself on a king-sized bed that had mysteriously appeared. Her heart rate was still in a mess as she watched Kingston climb on the bed and hover over her. “Kingston…” “Don't be scared,” Kingston hooked a finger on the neck of her dress and pulled it down slightly. Kayleen’s chest was nearly exposed but all of her attention was on Kingston’s long claw that was making its way to her chest. “This will be painful Kayleen,” his sharp claw dug into the skin in the middle of her chest. “AHHH…” Kayleen cried in pain as blood came out of her chest and the bright divine energy made its way inside. His finger was so deep that she felt as if she could die any moment. Kayleen dug her fingers on the bed, her chest raised up and tears continuously flowing out. Kingston hated the tears that he brought to her eyes. She was in a lot of pain but did not ask for him to stop. Kingston’s chest tightened, he immediately pulled her into his chest. “Shhh. Don’t be scared. It is almost over. I am here with you,” Kingston kissed her head, speeding up the process of placing his Mana inside her. Kayleen’s eye lashes were heavy, her vision grew blurry as she began falling into darkness. “Kayleen, don't fall asleep,” Kingston pulled his claw out and lightly tapped her cheeks. She could end up in a coma if she lost her senses. “Kayleen, can you hear me?” Kingston used a spell to help her get a hold of herself. “Yes…” she nodded weakly. “Good, I am healing your wound. The pain will be gone soon, so talk to me,” he kissed her forehead while his hand was busy stopping the bleeding. “Talk?” Kayleen asked weakly but knew she had heard him clearly. “Yes, ask me anything you would like,” he remarked, trying to distract her from the pain. “Is there anything you would like to know about me?” “Then…” Kayleen paused to take a breath, gathering her strength and wits to speak. “Would you ever… Regret this day?” Kayleen looked at Kingston with her blurry eyes. “What if someday you find out I am not worth your kindness. Will you… regret?” “Regret?” Kingston smiled, brushing the tears from the corner of her eyes. “I would regret it if I lost you, Kayleen.” Kayleen’s eyes widened slightly at his confession. It was crazy. She was using him. Using the mate bond to save her own life. Yet he did not even hold a hint of regret? “Do you feel better…..” Kingston paused when his ears perked up at an unexpected noise. He tucked Kayleen into his chest as he quickly grabbed a man’s neck that was about to attack them from behind. “AHHH!” The man screamed in pain as Kingston dug his entire claws into his neck. “Who are you?” Kingston turned to face the man whose soul had almost left his body at the sight of Kingston’s lycan’s eyes. The three men behind him froze in terror. How had he sensed them even though they had used their most powerful spells? “Didn't you hear me?” Kingston questioned, his face taking on another level of insanity that scared the s**t out of the other man. “That… that woman….” the man struggled to get free while pointing at Kayleen who heard their conversation. They were after her but had not known Kingston would be with her. “We want…. to kill that… woman…” She admitted that witnessing Kingston’s face was scary. Something inside him snapped as soon as his lycan heard that the woman in his arms was in danger. Those people wanted to kill her, steal her away from him, that he was going to lose her, that she was going to leave him forever. Kayleen’s vision slowly became clear, only to find the corner of Kingston’s lips raised in an evil smile. She shivered at the sight. “You want to kill her?” Kingston snapped the man’s neck then kicked his dead body mercilessly like it was a ball being tossed. The three men cladded in black and Kayleen’s eyes widened in shock when they saw the dead body’s bones being crushed and the flesh tearing apart before it landed in front of one of the attackers. Kingston had not moved nor had he let Kayleen move an inch away from him as he killed a living being. The three men stepped back in terror as they raised their gazes to the beast embracing his woman like an unbreakable wall with the bloody hand that he had dug into their commrade’s neck. “Attack him together and Kill that woman!!” their leader commanded his men. The men charged at the bed, their dark eyes set on Kayleen, sudden black energy appearing in their hands. Kingston remained unmoved but Kayleen’s heart was in her throat when she realized they were all evil wizards and they were aiming at Kingston because of her. “Kingston!!” Kayleen cried, throwing herself over his chest to shield him, not realizing Kingston had already flown up into the sky with her up in his arms. Kayleen had to be close to him for a little while longer as she was still in critical condition, but what Kingston noticed was that those wizards were using black magic. They were trained to complete their mission or die trying and their mission was to kill Kayleen! The wizard on the ground looked up in shock only to be attacked by Kingston's spell that came from all sides. “AHHHH….” With a loud bang their bloody bodies were thrown in different directions on the ground. The surroundings filled with their painful screams. This time they found Kayleen sitting alone on the bed but Lycan Prince was nowhere to be found. “Where is he?'' They looked around suspiciously only to be startled by a big figure jumping to the ground from the sky to stand in front of the bed shielding Kayleen. “He is a lycan!!!” One of the men crawled back in horror when they saw a beast standing two legs in front of them. They had no idea that the Princess had a Lycan protector. “No, that is the Lycan Prince!!” One of the men realized, finally catching a glimpse of what he looked like. “Who sent you to kill Kayleen?” Kingston set his bloodthirsty sights on them, the blood of their comrade dropping to the ground from his nails. “Can’t you hear me?” Kingston began walking closer to them. They yelled in fear, crawling away as the beast moved forward. “RUN!!” They all got up and raced to the woods that they had come from. Kingston did not race after them, instead he took a jump only to get his hands on one of them. “AHHH!” Kayleen screamed when she saw Kingston stabbing his hand through one of the men’s backs, then pulled out his heart leaving him dead before charging at another wizard. For her, he had become a killing machine that did not know when to stop before destroying the whole world. Sweating and frozen in panic, Kayleen witnessed the pleading and fear filled cries of the wizards as their limbs were ripped one by one from their bodies until dead silence fell over the area. Kayleen kept staring at the large beast still standing in front of the bed like a shield, but not once during the fight had he moved more than a hundred meters away because of her critical condition. “King…ston…” Kayleen whispered his name, slowly getting off of bed. Kingston slowly turned his head only to lock his red eyes with Kayleen immediately coming to his senses when he saw her in tears. Her chest had healed but her whole body was shaking. Her eyes were big and she had been scared of him like this when she was six. Kingston’s hands shook at his sides. This had not been what he wanted. He had cleared up years of misunderstanding and only changed head long into the abyss because she saw his true nature. Kingston took a step back, not wanting to scare her further, but Kayleen grabbed his hand. “Calm down.'' Kayleen stood in front of him and slowly raised her hand to touch his lycan. His whole body was hot like he was burning in fire. “I am not hurt,” she smiled while stroking his soft black hair. Kingston’s Lycan instantly calmed down like Kayleen had put a spell on them. His beast never obeyed anyone, but Kayleen’s effect on him was different than others. Slowly he returned to his human form while gazing into her eyes, never expecting a hug from her after seeing this monster part of him. “It’s me, Kayleen.” Kayleen looked up at him. Kingston’s restless heart beat like crazy when there was no fear in her eyes. She did not see him any differently. He had not lost her. He immediately hugged her back tightly. “I know, you are my Kayleen.” Kayleen listened to his heartbeat and was stunned at his statement. He called her his. Kingston lifted her chin and looked deep into her eyes. He was full of obsession as he confessed. “Don't ever leave me.”
