“AHHH!!”
Kayleen put her hand over her mouth and screamed in the bathtub out of embarrassment. Kingston’s claim to f**k her when he finds out the reason behind his feelings shook her heart, mind, and soul. Never in her wildest dreams had Kayleen thought of being physical with a man other than Wallace even crossed her mind.
The carefulness of Kingston’s dominance was something that Kayleen could not ignore.
He kidnapped her and did all those dirty things, never wanting to stop in Wallace’s presence as well. In the corner of her heart Kayleen felt as if Kingston had put that spell up only to protect her honor, as she was the one who did not want to be exposed. She knew that Kingston had not given a s**t about Wallace finding out about what they had done.
“Why am I noticing him so much?” Kayleen grumbled, slipping beneath the water completely. It was like he wanted to show Wallace who Kayleen actually belonged to but respected her wish. “This is crazy,” she admitted.
Kayleen took an extra long bath. When she exited the bathroom in a towel, she spotted a half naked Kingston in her room. His hair was wet but he had changed into a fresh pair of pants. A few drops of water shone on his eight pack abs as he slowly slipped into his black shirt, spotting Kayleen as well.
“Want to see more?” Kingston asked. Kayleen’s ears perked up as embarrassment caused her cheeks to flush. She was staring at him like a creep.
“Sorry,” she raced over to her clothes that Kingston picked up before she could grab them. She stood on her tip toes trying to reach them.
“Hey!” Kayleen complained when he raised his hand up higher above his head.
“What?” Kingston raised his brows, loving her annoyance that was mixed with shyness.
“Give me my clothes,” Kayleen jumped up, trying to grab her clothes.
“But I prefer you like this Kayleen,” Kingston blinked innocently. “Naked and ready to eat,” he added. Kayleen gritted her teeth. Who knew this lycan that seemed so cold and deadly and had the ability to kill a person with a mere glance was such a pervert.
Kayleen stopped jumping, dropping her hand down quickly. Kingston knitted his brows together at her sudden defeat that was not what he expected from her.
“Kingston,” Kayleen called softly, wrapping her arms around herself.
“What’s wrong?” Kingston c****d his brows as she lowered her eyes.
“I am cold,” Kayleen looked at him timidly through her long wet lashes.
Kingston held his breath, his heart was in disarray over hearing Kayleen’s coquettish voice. He worriedly took note of her eyes that did not seem weak and her nose that was not bleeding. But the sudden cold was a cause for concern.
“Come here,” he gently pulled her into a hug to warm her but he felt her clothing being snatched from his hand as Kayleen slipped from his grasp.
“Hehe… thanks for the clothes, your highness the Lycan Prince,” Kayleen waved her dress at him with a victorious grin.
“You little!” Kingston frowned. She was pretending?! No one had ever been able to fool him yet this little she-wolf played him so easily. “Stop right there!” He reached his arm out to catch her.
“EHHH…” Kayleen screamed and laughed, then slammed the bathroom door behind her, leaving Kingston outside growling.
A few minutes later, Kayleen stood at the door afraid of exiting the bathroom and confronting the beast that could be on her hunt.
“Kingston, are you there?” she called sweetly.
“Yes”
Kayleen put her hand over her heart in panic. He was right on the other side of the door. He had taken her little antics seriously.
“Come out. I need to talk to you,” Kingston proposed.
“No, you will take revenge,” Kayleen did not open the door.
“If you don’t obey me, then I will surely take revenge.”
After a couple of seconds, Kayleen opened the door, peeking her head out to find Kingston standing a distance from the door. His expression was normal with no hint of him seeking revenge, but she could tell from his sharp gaze that had not forgotten anything.
“What do you want to talk about?” Kayleen asked as they stood face to face. Reading his expression he seemed serious, it worried Kayleen that he would talk about those strange feelings again.
“After visiting King Basil, are you free tonight?” he asked, taking her hand in his.
“Tonight?” Kayleen blinked. “Yes, I am free,” she nodded. For a long time, Kingston remained silent only staring into Kayleen’s eyes as his thumb gently drew circles on the back of her hand.
“What’s wrong?” Kayleen smiled. He seemed to be debating something heavily.
“Do you want to have dinner with me?” Kingston kissed the back of hand.
Kayleen’s heart began beating fast. Dinner with her mate? They touched, they kissed, they even engaged in foreplay, so dinner should not be a big deal, but still Kayleen’s heart was moved. Why did she feel as if Kingston had never asked a woman to dinner before? She was his first.
His lips felt so soft and warm on her cold skin, but he kept his eyes locked with hers. There was patience there but also desperation for her answer. It was that look that Kayleen could not ignore, she said, “Yes.''

Kayleen quickly arranged things for Basil. It was already evening and Basil's treatment would commence in an hour. They needed to withdraw from the room for the healers shortly. Kingston let Kayleen spend a little more time with her grandfather because she would be away from him for days.
"Grandpa, I will be back in a few days, but I promise to send over food for each of your meals. So please don't skip any," she smiled, tucking Basil in one last time.
"Don't worry yourself too much," Kingston wrapped his arms around her waist from behind. "Elder Basil was a King once, an Alpha blood like him can endure the pain no matter how old he is. He will be alright," he explained. Kayleen slowly turned to face Kingston.
"You promise?" she asked, looking up at him through her lashes. Kingston's heart beat faster at her innocent, hopeful gaze.
"Yes," Kingston nodded. "I promise," he smiled. “I will be present during the treatment to make sure everything goes well.”
Kayleen's gaze got stuck on his charming smile. It was the same smile that played with her heart. She never felt that way towards any man other than Wallace. Kingston's smile was warm and just for her. Spending time with him like they were in that moment, in the soft moonlight that filtered through the window, she found him absolutely adorable.
Kingston's smile slowly faded away when he felt Kayleen's emotions. They were pure like a river and the numerous emotions in her blue eyes had a pull that he could not name. The pull seemed holy, making it so that he could not bear to stand still. "Don't look at me with those eyes," his chest let out a possessive growl as he pulled her into a soft kiss.
Kayleen placed her hand on his broad chest as she slowly closed her eyes. She gently kissed him back, granting him access to all he desired. When the two of them lost themselves in each other, the world around them seemed to fade away. Soon Kayleen was left breathless in his arms.
In King Basil's courtyard Beta Kane stood patiently. His curious eyes kept darting back and forth to Lycan Prince Kingston's people who had taken over the former King's residence. If one was not aware that the Prince’s reason for being there was to attend his father's wedding, then they might misunderstand that the Lycan Prince was attacking the Werewolf Kingdom. Their mere presence and domineering personalities would make anyone feel insignificant.
He did not wish to stay another second around the lycans, but then the man standing in King Basil's bedroom window had drained every single drop of his courage with a single glance. Kane looked everywhere but at Prince Kingston.
The sound of Basil's bedroom door opening caused Kane’s ears to perk up. The doctors and wizards entered the room and the door was closed once again. Kane immediately rushed over to find Kayleen, who appeared with Kingston at her side.
"Lycan Prince. Princess Kayleen," Kane bowed to both of them before he turned to Kayleen. "Where have you been? Alpha Prince Wallace has been trying to mind-link you. He even went to your residence. You were nowhere to be found."
Kane stated, sensing a deadly coldness coming from Kingston’s direction. He did not dare look at him but found that the aura coming off of him was quite murderous. Could it be that the Lycan Prince was displeased over his presence? What had garnered this type of negative response from him?
Kayleen paused for a moment. Wallace had come to her home a few hours ago and now Kane had come looking for her as well.
"I was busy with some personal matters," Kayleen quietly replied, taking close note of Kane's troubled face. "What's wrong? Why is Wallace looking for me?" she inquired.
Kane stared at her in confusion. Her calmness over hearing Wallace's name was unexpected. Her eyes were no longer shining with unshed tears. Normally, Kayleen would have run to Wallace's palace so that she could apologize to him for not answering his mind-link. However, at that moment the Princess was talking casually about Wallace like he was one of her subordinates.
"Umm, there is an issue," Kane had to focus in order to get to the point. "I think you should take a look at this invitation," he passed her the card.
Kayleen silently read the invitation, finally realizing the reason behind Wallace's panic. "Queen Orla's birthday party.”
"Yes, it is tomorrow. I am well aware how things stand between you and the Alpha Prince. However, the Queen really does not seem to care. If you don't attend Queen Orla's birthday party, then Alpha Prince Wallace will be in trouble," Kane quietly explained.
For Orla, Kayleen was more than a beloved adopted daughter that she raised along with Basil. She had believed in Kayleen's positive influence on Wallace's ability to rule the Kingdom, which was what had prompted her to make Wallace Crown Prince. She viewed Kayleen as the future Luna Queen. She had been over the moon when she learned that Kayleen would be her daughter-in-law, until Anne's entry into their lives changed everything.
Orla hated the low born Omega who snatched Kayleen's husband. However, when she turned out to be Wallace's soulmate, the Queen could not do much else.
After Wallace's birthday party, Kayleen had stopped visiting Wallace's residence. No one could approach her. This was the first time she had not planned on participating in Queen Orla's birthday party celebration. All of this would generate in will from Queen Orla that could backfire on Wallace. The divorce between Wallace and Kayleen was still only a rumor, the crown could still slip from Wallace's head at any moment. Kayleen was the shield that Wallace needed most at this time.
"The Prince wanted to confirm your attendance at the birthday party tomorrow," Kane explained.
Kingston’s eyes grew sharper with understanding. Wallace was using Kayleen. He remained calm. She could not be that stupid to remain unaware of Wallace’s tactics.
Kayleen folded the invitation and smiled at Kane. "It's my Queen mother's birthday. I will definitely be attending."
Kane's nervous expression brightened in an instant. He let out a deep sigh of relief at her response. After Wallace's displeasure over being unable to find Kayleen, he had nearly burned his skin with growls and glares. Kane had run around all day in search of Kayleen. His hard work had finally come to fruition.
“Lycan Prince,” Kane lowered his head, handing over a birthday party invitation to Kingston. “Nate said you missed the breakfast appointment with the King because of your busy schedule. So please, the Lycan King is looking forward to your…”
Kayleen watched Kingston from the corner of her eye. Her eyes widened when she witnessed him tossing the invitation. She immediately grabbed his hand to stop him from doing so before Kane could see.
"Then I shall take my leave," Kane lifted his head and smiled before walking away. When he had disappeared Kayleen turned to Kingston.
“Do you dislike my Queen mother?” Her eyes were full of emotions.
“I don't have a reason to like or dislike her,” Kingston replied, turning her to walk to their dinner destination.
“So why did you want to throw away the invitation?” Her eyes were filled with curiosity.
“Because I am not going to the birthday party,” Kingston remarked.
“Why?” Kayleen kept looking up at his face, never realizing where he was leading.
“I don't go anywhere that person is going to be present,” Kingston reasoned.
“That person?” Kayleen stopped in her tracks. “You mean the Lycan King?”
“Hmmm…” Kingston just nodded. Kayleen blinked.
He called his Father ‘that person’. A strange feeling rose in Kayleen’s heart but the sudden chill in the atmosphere attracted her attention. Kayleen slowly tore her gaze from Kingston, when she looked around she found herself in a place that looked like a different world,a beautiful one like she was in a dream.
“Kingston, what is this?” She gasped when she turned to face him, he was only an inch away from her.
Kingston wrapped his arms around her waist and gently pulled her into his chest.
“Dinner with a lycan.”
