Chapter Six: Venice's Struggles.

The next day.
Audrey was the first one to come to the office. She went straight to Venice's desk because she needs to drop by some documents for her to proofread. A certain black USB caught her attention. It was just lying on Venice's desk...
One idea suddenly came to her mind. She looked around the office, and once she made sure that nobody's around, she picked up the USB and hid it in her pocket...
She then walked straight to her private office as if nothing happened... And once she sat down on her desk, she quickly plugged the USB on her laptop's portal, and she looked at the files one by one. She opened a folder which is titled "Manuscript Folder" and read its contents...
Audrey suddenly got interested with one of the scripts there...

After a few days...
Venice took a deep breath before she knocks at the door of her Boss' private office.
"Come in!" she heard her voice.
Venice immediately opened the door and went inside the office.
"Please take a seat, Venice."
She was secretly surprised when she saw her Boss smiling at her.
"Why did you call me, Boss? Is there something that I need to do?" she curiously asks her.
"You've been my loyal Assistant, so I think you deserved to hear the good news first before everybody else." Audrey began talking, and she's obviously excited.
"What is this good news Boss?" Venice's getting more and more curious.
"I've finally finished my script! And I'm confident that it will pass the Director and the Producer's standards!" Boss Audrey happily spilled the news.
Venice was genuinely happy for her Lady Boss. Miss Audrey seems to be in a good mood, so everyone in the office will be happy as well.
"That's good news, congratulations!"
"I've already set up another appointment with them. And as always, you will come with me to the meeting." Audrey reminded her.
"Of course, Boss. No problem." Venice nodded approvingly.
"Okay, that's all I want to say. Go back to your work." Miss Audrey finally said.
When Seira returned to her desk, Lara immediately approached her.
"Did the old hag gave you a whiplash again?" Lara asked her, while frowning.
Seira shook her head in response.
"Our Boss just talked to me about the script. Her manuscript is done and she looked really happy about it. And she's really nice and kind today..."
Lara gasped in utter shock when she heard her...
"Really? Wow, that's something new! Don't you think she's being possessed by a good spirit?" she unbelievably spat out.
Venice laughed in return.
"You're just overreacting, Lara. Maybe she really changed for the better."
"I hope she really changed, my friend. Our world will become a better place." Lara replied, in a matter-of-factly tone.
"Let's cross our fingers on that." Venice said, while feeling hopeful.

Venice and Boss Audrey are now back at the MBN Building to pitch her new script to the Producer and the Director.
Venice couldn't help herself but to feel worried about her Boss because she's clearly nervous while waiting...
Both of them stood up when they saw the Producer and the Director entering the conference room.
"It's nice to see you again, Audrey. I cancelled all my appointments when you said that you finished a brand new script. We are really excited, and I hope we'll not be disappointed." the Director began talking.
"We can't wait to read the script, Audrey." the Producer added as well.
"I promise you, this script will be worth your time and money." Audrey informed them, while looking confident.
"Well, where's the manuscript?" the Director asked them.
"Please give them the copy of the manuscript, Venice." Audrey commanded her Assistant.
Venice stood up and gave each of them copies of Audrey's new manuscript.
The Director and the Producer started reading the manuscripts.
And after thirty minutes, the Director spoke again.
"Wow, the first chapter of the manuscript sucks you right in!"
"I agree with the Director 100%, Audrey. This is such a masterpiece! I really like this part-- "I closed my eyes, as I hoped I would forget the painful things that happened in my life in an instant..."
Venice suddenly froze from her seat when she heard that line.
"Did I hear right? Those lines... It was from my manuscript!" she thought to herself.
"Audrey, is your Assistant alright?" the old Director suddenly asked, while looking at Venice.
"Oh, my goodness! You look so pale! Do you want to drink some water?" the Producer asked her, in a worried tone.
Venice looked at her Boss, as her eyes widened in shock. How can this woman steal her work?!
Meanwhile, her Boss just continued having a conversation with the Producer and the Director as if there's nothing wrong...

Their meeting with the Director and the Producer is finally over.
Her Boss asked her to wait outside of the MBN Building while she's having a last-minute chat regarding the new movie project ...
Venice thought that maybe the right thing to do right now is to go home and calm herself down. And when she calms down, her mind will become clearer and she'll be able to think of what to do on this complicated situation. Even if she confronts Boss Audrey infront of the Director and the Producer, they would probably believe that old woman's words because she's already a veteran in the scriptwriting industry.
Her mind is flying elsewhere that she didn't even realized she's already out of the MBN Building.

After a few minutes...
Venice suddenly changed her mind. Instead of going straight home, she decided to wait for Miss Audrey to confront her.
She's now waiting at the parking lot where Audrey's car is parked. She wants to know why she stole her very own manuscript. All she wants was to know the truth, apologize to her and give back her script.
Few moments later, she saw her Boss walking towards her direction. She didn't even show any remorse, and the old woman's still looking at her straight in the eye!
"Does this woman even have a conscience?!" she unbelievably thought to herself.
"--So you're still here, huh?" Boss Audrey spoke.
Venice wanted to confront her right there and then, but she can't open her mouth... She's secretly shaking inside, and now she's having doubts if she can express her anger towards this old woman...
