Diana's POV

Being a doctor was always the plan for me, even when my parents told me that they don't have the money to send me to school, even when I didn't get funding I never gave up on my dream of becoming a doctor. I just wish that it was not this expensive. I am drowning in student debts and they are going to take me years to pay up. I have always been so focused on being a doctor that I hardly had time for relationships, I was just too focused on getting what I want.

Besides that, the men I got together with were all losers. Then my mother told me about Theodore, she was friends with her father. I had seen his pictures on the internet a few times but I didn't really care much about him. I still don't but there is one thing I care about more than anything else in this world and that is money and Theodore has a lot of it. That is when I started to do my research on him. I didn't get much about him but I knew that he had been separated from his estranged wife. I told my mother that I had to meet up with him.

I had to play my game right if I wanted Theodore in my life, I knew that a man like that doesn't need a woman who is going to throw themselves at him, I wanted to be with him but I had to get him exactly where I wanted him. I had to play hard to get, that is the only way to hook a guy like Theodore. I had to make him appreciate me and I think that I have done that. I must admit that after the Gala dinner I thought that I had lost my chance with him.

I thought that he was going to give up on me but then the flowers came into my run down apartment. I think there was a thousand roses in my apartment that day. It was a sweet apology but I wanted him to know that I am more than just a few bunches of red roses in my apartment. I didn't call him back, then he gave me chocolates, those were lovely but still, I needed more from him, then the diamonds came and I knew that I had hooked him.

No man was going to spend that much on diamonds for a woman he doesn't want to be with. I still didn't call him, I wanted him to make another move and this time he outdid himself, I was sure then that this was going to be easier than I thought. I want Theo to marry me, being with a man like that is going to set me up for life, I need to pay my debts, all of them. Abigail was a fool to let a man like that go, she had everything she could ever dream of and she walks away just like that? You know what they say, another woman's misfortune is another woman's fortune.

I have been sitting in my apartment trying to figure out what I am going to wear to dinner tonight. I have a good feeling about tonight. I don't even know where he is taking me but I know that I want to make an impression. I look around my apartment with a heavy heart. I deserve to live in a high rise building like the one Theodore lives in. I deserve to be the woman of the house in that place. My phone rang on the table and I went to pick it up. I tought that it was Theodore.

"Hello..." I said.

"Mi Amor..." Steven said. This was the last person I wanted to talk to, I don't even know how he got my number.

"Steve?... " I said in a scared voice.

"Surprised to hear my voice? " he saod.

"Yes... I mean no." I said.

"Well I am happy to hear your voice, I thought that you had died, turns out that you only changed your numbers." Steve said.

"It's not like that... I have been busy. I had so much to do with school and work." I said.

"Diana don't patronize me, you know why you changed your numbers, are you trying to get out of paying me what you owe me? " he said.

"Not at all... " I said.

"I want my money Diana, you have missed the last two payments." he said in an angry voice.

"And I will make a plan, I will get it for you." I said.

"You know, I told you that there is other ways to settle the score, you can pay me everything." Steven said.

"No, I am not going to run drugs for you, I am a doctor and not a drug mule, what if I get arrested? I will lose everything I have worked so hard to get." I said.

Steven is a lot of things to a lot of people, to me he is a bank, he was able to help me with money to get my education, I had run drugs for him before, but that was because I was saving up for my education, I made as much as I could and quit soon after. The money ran out and I needed help. I asked him for a loan and he gave it to me, he paid for my education and I have been doing all that I can to pay him back his money. The last couple of months have been hard so I missed a couple of payments.

"You would do well to remember that it is the drug money that gave you that education, Diana you were the best runner I have ever had, three years and you never got caught even once, just one more time." he said.

"The answer is no! I have left that life behind." I said.

"Fine, then you leave me no choice, you have three months to get me my money, all of it, with interest of course. Failure to pay might be lethal and fatal to you. " he said in a serious tone. I know Steve and a lot of people have died for a lot less, if he wants to take me out then he will find a way to do it.

"Where I supposed to get that kind of money in three months, don't be unreasonable." I said to him.

"Three months Mi Amor, that's all you have. " he said and hung up the phone.

"But... Hello! Steve! Damn it!" I said in frustration. This is not what I have been expecting.

I looked at the time and realised that I only have a few minutes left to get ready. I was even wondering if I should just postpone the date and tell Theodore that I came down with something, that I am sick or something. Then I had a brilliant idea. I was going to go to that date and I will be the perfect date, I will charm him and that is only the beginning. I went through my closet and I finally found a dress I could wear. Steven just hit the last nail on Theo's coffin. Three months he said. Three months to get the money or he will kill me.

I am too pretty to be a corpse, I am not ready to die just yet. I have three months to get Theo to marry me, it shouldn't be that hard, I have gotten him to take off his ring and now he is ready to go get a divorce, that means that he is ready to move on with me. I know that I can do this. I chose a little black dress, it was a bodycon dress, I loved it because it was perfect for every occasion, this is a must have for every woman. I took my good pair of black Louboutin pumps and wore them. I took the matching purse.

My phone rang again and I went to see who was calling, it was my mother and for a moment, I wondered if I should even answer it. I have missed Steven's last two payments because I have been sending my mother money for her cancer treatments and it is expensive. I looked at the nightstand saw the pile of overdue bills laying there waiting for me to get to them. I am under so much pressure and I don't know if I can live like this. I am at a point where I feel like selling the diamonds that Theodore gave me. Right now that money could go a long way but what would I say if he asked me about it.

I didn't pick up my mother's call, I already had so much on my mind and I didn't want to stress myself even further than I already was. I can't afford to start this date on a bad note, that won't do for me. Tonight is the beginning of a new era doe me. I made it perfectly clear that I don't want to be a temporary fling that I need stability and he knows that I want something more permanent. Which is why I am confident that I will be able to get him make me his wife in the next couple of months. My phone rang and this time I had a smile on my face, it was Theodore.

"Hello..." I said

"Hello beautiful, how are you doing?" He asked me.

"I am good, what's up? " I asked him.

"Are you done? The driver will be there in a couple of minutes." He said.

"Yes I am done, I will go and wait for him downstairs." I said.

"Wonderful, I will see you in a few minutes." he said.

"alright then. " I said and hung up the phone.

I took a look at myself and decided that I needed one more shade of red lipstick. I them took my purse and I went downstairs and waited for the car. A limousine stopped in front of me. The driver came out and opened the door, I was not even sure if this was my ride until I saw Theo coming out with roses in his hands. He had a huge smile on his face.

"Good evening beautiful..." he said.

"Good evening... I wasn't expecting to see you." I said. I thought that it was just going to be driver.

"I couldn't wait to see you." he said and took my hand and led me into the car, I went inside the car and he sat besides me. There was a bottle of champagne on ice and some cut strawberries, he poured me a glass and threw in two strawberries.

"Here you go pretty lady." he said and gave me the glass of champagne.

"Thank you... " I said and took a sip. "This tastes wonderful." I said with a smile.

"Yes, it's from my vineyard, I am going to officially launch it next month." He said.

"So besides being a tech genius and a great wine maker, what else are you good at ?" I asked him.

"Well I would like think I am good at everything I put my mind to. I am so happy that you agreed to this. " he said and took my hand in his and kissed it gently. His warm breathe on my hand gave me goosebumps. You see this moment here, it means a lot to me, it tells me that I can really do this.

"I wouldn't want to be anywhere but here right now... " I said with a smile.

"Well on a more serious note, I want to tell you that I meant what I said, I am ready to move on, ready to be you and show you the world. I promise you that I will never forsake you nor will I let anything or anyone get between us." he said.

"Kiss me.." I said and I didn't have to ask twice, his lips were on mine in an instant. His hands went to my waist as he hovered over me and starring me deep into my eyes. It's like he wanted his eyes to tell me what his lips couldn't tell me.
