Logan's POV
We hurriedly follow nurse Aaliyah as she guides us to the Boor church that they converted the half of it into a hospital.
There we saw lots of survivors like us, eyeing us from head to foot then face each other ushering, whispering to one another.
We just ignored them and made our way to the bed where Kiel is.
Upon entering the door, I saw an old woman, probably in her late forties, came from Kiel's room.
I motioned Meaghan to stop and she just gave me a blank stare. I pointed at the lady and let me drag her to the seats.
"Excuse me madam," I politely said. "Do you know the person in that room?" I asked and pointed at the direction she came from.
She sadly nodded and kneel on the cushion. She started praying that's why I urge Meaghan to do the same.
We kneeled and ask for his guidance.
'God," I said, facing his statue. "Please save our friend. He did so much for us. I know he's a good man, even though our other friend tells otherwise. Please heal him so we can know what really happened. We need him to find Benj, and become complete again. Please hear us oh Lord, and may you give your grace. Amen.' I made a sign of the cross before sitting back on the chair.
Meaghan follows after me, and a few moments later, the lady finished praying and seat with us. She tried brushing away her tears when Meaghan suddenly gives her a handkerchief that she slowly accepted.
She retouch a bit before facing us.
"Thank you, but how are you related to my son?" she asked, seems confused.
My eyebrows arched before my eyes went wide after realizing what she said.
"S-Son? You're Kiel's mother?" shocked is written all over my face. I eyed at her from head to toe, and recognize his resemblance with the latter.
"You're Mrs. Ferida?" Meaghan suddenly interrupted, looking shocked and confused at the same time.
The woman just gave us a small smile.
"Yes, I'm Stellar Ferida, Ezekiel's mom." she slowly said then nods.
"Ezekiel?" curiosity covered me as a scenario flash inside my head.
"Ang mga Beauford! Mga walanghiya sila! Maayos ang pamumuhay namin ng Kuya Benjo ko kahit mahirap lang kami, pero anong ginawa nila ha?! Lalo na ng lintik na Don Beauford na yan! Pagkatapos silang pagsilbihan ng kuya ko, anong ginanti nila?! Pinapatay nya sa anak na tinawag nyang Zeke!" Benj started shouting angrily. I just stood near him, calming him down.
"Dinig na dinig ko ang usapan nila kung paano sya papatayin! Kitang kita ko kung paanong tutukan nung hayop na Zeke na yon ng baril sa ulo ang kuya Benjo ko! Hinding hindi ako titigil hangga't hindi ko sila napagbabayad!" he added before crying.
I just snap back in reality when I heard Kiel's mother speaking.
"Yes hijo, he's Ezekiel Ferida Beauford. Are you his friends? Did he not tell you about it?" now she's the one confused.
I just move my head sideways, removing the thoughts that is running in my mind.
I turn to Meaghan and our eyes met. It looks like we do have the same idea in our head.
'I guess it's true...' I faced the ceiling to think.
'But why, Kiel?' my mouth formed a small smile before standing up.
"It's nice to meet you madam, I hope we could talk again sometime," I told her while holding her hand.
"We'll check on our friend now." I said as we bid our goodbyes.

We entered the room and see the scenario happening in front.
Doctors are surrounding him, reviewing his vital signs.
"They're here doc," nurse Aaliyah informed. They turned their gaze and eyed us.
"I'll be frank on this one. You're friend needs immediate medical attention, and the machines we need to perform surgery on him is located on an island in Batangas," he said with a hint of sadness in his voice.
"It's okay doc, as long as our friend will be safe," I answered. I look at Meaghan and saw that her eyes are still red, probably because of the drama we caused earlier. I just shrugged away that thought and focused and Kiel when I saw his fingers moving.
"Oh my, doc! Is he waking up?" I asked panicking.
Nurse Aaliyah went on his side to check on his vital signs. She reported it to the doctor using medical terms I am not yet too familiar with, before facing us.
"We really need to move now, as soon as possible. His vital signs are getting worse and --," she has been cut off when Kiel slowly opened his eyes.
I went to his side to check. He's not fully aware because of his unresponsive pupil.
"B-benj..." he groaned. He's like in a trance or something.
"Benjo..." he tried his best to speak but we could only hear inaudible sounds.
"...alive."
His last word hit us. Meaghan step forward to check on him, but he's no longer responding.
The doctor and nurse Aaliyah push as aside as they tried to stabilize his condition.
We started to panick when Kiel suddenly convulses.
I grab Meaghan into my direction as Kiel's body starts to shake frantically.
Some medical staff tried pulling us out of the room but we did not bulge.
"I'm sorry sir, ma'am, but you need to go out. Medical policy," he said politely. He start to call the other staff to get us out that's why a commotion has been created.
Everyone went silent as we heard the sound coming from the monitor. I stood frozen, unable to move upon realizing what is happening in front of me.
I slowly turned my gaze to where Kiel is and saw that he stopped moving. The doctor and nurse Aaliyah started to prepare the defibrilator unit.
My breathing becomes heavy and my hearing suddenly became impaired when I saw how they tried to revive him.
I feel my head spinning when the monitor does not even move or add a beat.
Nothing.
Everything crumbled when the monitor beeped and show a long flat line.
Meaghan suddenly lost balance because of what happened, which I easily caught. I saw how nurse Aaliyah cry which made my heart shattered into pieces.
'Kiel bro...'
The doctor sympathetically looked at us, before checking on his watch.
"Time of death, 4:16 pm."
