Escape plan

“Dad!” Lilly exclaimed brashly as she immediately followed him on his way out, keeping her neck slightly bent to both look at him and to make him look back at her to see how disappointed she was when he gave that order. “What, Lilly?” he asked in a rough vociferous tone without looking at her face while walking in haste to get into a helicopter few meters in front of him. “He is my friend, I just told you, and now you want to punish my feelings? What are you doing!” She yelled at him with so much energy in her vocals, expressing her displeasure with his attitude and the extent to which she had been pissed off. “I am protecting you, sweetheart. You can thank me later. Now go in and be a good girl. I need to go now. I am giving a speech at the conference meeting right now. Wish me luck.” He sputtered, opening the palm of his hands as he looked at her with a rather pitiful face while taking a step to hop into the helicopter. “I wish you died already!” She exclaimed with arms folded as she watched them shut the doors of the helicopter that was already rolling, ready to take off. Zod looked at her through the glass and shook his head, feeling disappointed because of what she had just said right before one of the men with him shut the door. She closed her eyes on him and turned around to leave whilst the helicopter was ascending into the atmosphere. She quickly followed Paul Frost and the rest of the security agents to find out where they were going to keep him. “Move!” Paul kept rumbling and thundering. Jason was speechless but fearless, despite having cuffs on his wrist and being pushed consecutively as though he had committed a huge crime. They led him through a passage on the left flank of the building, and into a room which had a protector door with no covering but long iron poles, making it possible for anyone to see him wholly and to know whatever he was doing from outside the room. He was pushed into the room and jailed, and without saying a word after that, Paul Frost and the rest of the security men with him all left the premises. All through the time Lilly had been following them, she had been sneaking to ensure she was not seen, and when they left through another exit, she ran towards the room and held the iron pole before whispering, “Hey, Jason!” she said in a whispering tone, the lower part of her eyelids became soaked wet with tears when she saw him. He was sitting on a small bed, his face was towards the painting on the wall of that small room and against her, she could only see his back. “Go away, I should be in class by now, it’s all your fault!” his honey-voice sounded sad toned to her hearing, making her feel guilty-of his present situation, but she was not grieved by his words. “You can say that again, but you need to turn around and look at me. I can’t do this alone without your help, Jason. I need us to think of a way to get you out of here before my dad returns. Please, Jason. I know what he is going to do to you if he returns to interrogate you.” Her voice rumbled and buzzed quietly while she was trying to convince him to turn around and look at her. “Really! You are thinking of letting me out without his permission to have him come after me, searching the entire city to finally put a bullet in my head?” he asked angrily, yet trying to sound friendly because he believed she was not the enemy here. “Trust me, I know my dad very well. He is going to kill you if he returns. Besides, he is trying to see to it that I get married to the son of one of his billionaire friends.” She threw her face aside, keeping an unamused face when she said that. “Then go ahead and get married to one of them if you have seen one already. Why should he kill me simply because he thinks I want his daughter’s hand in marriage?” Jason shrilled, rising up on his feet to approach her. “Keep your voice down, please. No one knows I am here.” She begged. “Then go away if you are also scared of living freely in your own territory,” Jason muttered as he drew closer and stood face to face with her. “You just don’t get it! My father doesn’t kill for a tangible reason, he kills for pleasure, Jason. It brings him joy when he tortures and kills anybody who isn’t related to him by blood. We don't have much time on our side now and you obviously need to have this handcuff off your wrist, don’t you think?” she asked, muttering with eyes soaking wet because she was actually falling deeply in love with him and wish he could just cooperate with her and stop arguing. It was clear that she didn’t want anything bad to happen to him. “You must have been lucky to survive in the hands of a ruthless father.” He quipped and chuckled, finding it funny, everything she just said. With the way she looked at him, he knew she meant what she said, coupled with the fact that he has a relatable history with Lilly’s father: an ugly event of the past which fed his mind with irrevocable hate that would take a miracle to reverse. “It’s not fun, Jason. We need to get you out of here, and I am thinking, so think!” she whispered harshly and shook the iron poles of the protector she was holding a little to express her anger at his becoming almost sarcastic. “Okay, fine. If you want to help, you are not going to do it standing there and thinking. You need to act.” He mumbled, placing his hands on the protector, close to where her hands were. “That’s exactly what I am talking about, Jason. The key to opening this padlock was with Paul Frost and so was that of the handcuffs’… I am thinking of a way to get it from him." She mumbled out of frustration and had this pale look on her face, he was made to believe that she was even more worried or rather troubled at his being jailed than he was. "You know what?" He asked in a way that caught her attention because she was in dear need of an idea that would work. She replied, looking up at him with eyes wide open, "what!" She exclaimed. "I need you to check in any room at all, try to see if you can find spare keys, stiff tool, paper clip, a screwdriver, preferably an eyeglass repair screwdriver, or anything sharp, bring it to me. You can also break into any safe box in one of the offices of these men, see if you can find any shims or a makeshift key for this handcuff. Hey, you know this place more than I do. This is your home, you have the right to go into any room just in case you are caught." He sputtered with so much confidence beaming all over his face to make her believe in herself. "I won't be caught." She boldly declared. "Best of luck, Lilly. Hey, come here!" He exclaimed, breathing slightly hard because he was scared of the plan itself. "Yes." She replied, turning back to look at him, for she had already turned to take her leave and when she came close, she knew he needed to kiss her. She reached forth and kissed him, placing her palm on both sides of his ears from outside while she kissed him before leaving. "Now go!" He ordered fondly in emotional passion and wishes of success, also feeling unhappy that he was unable to touch her when they kissed because of the handcuffs on his hands.
