Killian’s P.O.V.

“I am really impressed with the courageous nature of Alpha Albert, Killian. He is brave enough to go against you, and tried to form an alliance with the alpha of the Night Howl Pack. He proposed her daughter’s hand in marriage,” Noah, my beta told me in a bitter tone. I narrowed my eyes in confusion. “How can he propose a minor’s hand in marriage? His daughter is still 17, right?” I asked him, and he immediately looked back at his laptop.

I was now curious about this alliance. So, I waited for Noah to tell me exactly what I was missing here. His eyes widened in shock, and then a hint of disdain appeared on his face. “He actually has a human daughter from his previous human Luna, who was not his mate, but his lover. He later found his fated mate, and,” he paused while narrowing his eyes, and I furrowed my brows curiously.

“Bastard… how can he do this to his chosen Luna?” he was infuriated, and I dragged his laptop towards me while looking at him curiously. “No wonder his pack is the weakest pack in our world when he has most of the natural resources inside his pack land,” he muttered angrily, and I read the report.

The anger also arouse in my heart when I read what he did to his first human Luna. It was inhumane, and now I understood why we had no information about his elder daughter. She was a human and had left the pack seven years ago. She had separated her lives from them. How could he propose her hand in marriage? This is utterly insane.

“We are going to his pack,” I announced, and Noah immediately looked at me while knitting his brows. “Why? What is the fun in going now? We should go there at the time of marriage,” he replied to me while smiling sinisterly, and I stared at him in disbelief. “Let’s see what the alpha of the Night Howl Pack will do after seeing us in his wedding,” he continued in the same tone, and I huffed. He was really childish sometimes.

Suddenly his phone started ringing, making him pick it up from the table. I resumed reading the report. Alpha Albert Rosewood was indeed a scumbag. His first Luna, committed suicide because he didn’t want to let go of either of the women in his life. He ruined two lives for his selfishness, and even his fated mate was ill-treated by him.

“What? Are you out of your mind? What rubbish are you talking about?” I looked up when Noah yelled aloud in shock and almost jumped to his feet. We were both in our early thirties, and he still behaved like a child sometimes. I waited for him to finish the phone call first so that I could give him a piece of mind.

“How can a human defeat an alpha?” he yelled once again, and his statement piqued my interest. “Keep your eyes on them. We will be there shortly,” he instructed the person in a hurried tone, but he was still in a state of shock. “What happened?” I asked him when he hung up. “I can’t believe. What exactly is going on in our world?” he murmured in a daze instead of listening to me.

“Noah,” I called his name in an angry tone this time in a stern tone. He looked at me in a daze but recomposed himself immediately. He smiled sheepishly. “It was from Alfred,” he told me, and I raised my brows questioningly. Alfred was our spy who was keeping tabs on the Blood River Pack. “You won’t believe what he reported?” he said, trying to sound mysterious. “Will you tell me in a normal tone?” I asked him in a frustrated tone this time.

“His daughter…. His human daughter defeated him, Killian,” he yelled, and I raised my brows in shock. “What are you talking about?” I asked him in a tone filled with disbelief. “Yes, Killian… his human daughter challenged him, and defeated him…. She not only defeated him, but beat him into a pulp,” he answered me in the same excited tone. I just stared at him while processing what he said. “I am really curious to meet this girl. Either that alpha was an alpha on name or she has some skills,” Thunder chimed in.

“Let’s go,” I said while standing up from my chair. “Where?” Noah asked while standing up with me. I closed everything on my table, and put them on their respective places. “To Blood River Pack,” I answered him while finishing my world. “You are no fun, Killian, but I am also curious to see that girl,” Noah whined, and I glared at him. “You have a mate, Noah. Don’t forget that,” I threatened him, and he jerked his head while giving me a look.

“I said that I am curious to see that girl. I don’t have any other intentions,” he defended himself, and I just scoffed. “Give me an hour to prepare everything,” he said in a serious tone this time, and I nodded to him. He then walked towards the door. “Noah,” I called him, and he stopped. “Ask Alfred to send a picture of that girl to my phone,” I instructed him, and he raised his brows in surprise. “Okay,” he responded, and then went out of the room.

I sat down on the chair once again and looked out of the window. The sky was getting dark as it was already evening. I was a ruthless alpha, and the whole world knew my hunger for power. Was I really that power-hungry? I knew the answer very well. I was already 29, and I still hadn’t found my mate. I went all the packs all over the world, but it seemed that the Moon Goddess had no intention of giving me a mate, just like she didn’t give me anyone who loved me with a pure heart.

I felt that this human girl was in the same boat as I am. Both of us lost our mothers when we were young and our fathers were nothing but jerks. She left the pack in the age of 15, and I took over the alpha position in my pack in the same age after killing my father. My father took his mistress as his chosen mate, and everything went wrong for me after that. Although my father’s chosen mate, my stepmother was good towards me, she was distant and never tried to show motherly affection to me.

My father was abusive by nature, and he punished me severely whenever I made a mistake. He often locked me in dungeons and beat me mercilessly. I endured every pain until I had enough of his abuse. So, I challenged him for the alpha position as soon as I got Thunder at the age of 15, and I killed him. I went through so much hardship after taking over, as everyone around us wanted to take over the pack. I became what I was known today, but deep down, I still craved someone’s love.

I came out of my trance when I felt a presence outside my office. I scoffed and looked in the direction of the door. She opened the door and entered the office. She had a seductive smile on her lips right now, but I didn’t find it appealing. Her smile was like an eyesore to me. “Did you forget that this is my office, and you have to knock before coming inside, Catherine?” I asked him in an angry tone.

She halted in her tracks and gulped hard. Fear…. I could see fear in her eyes, and to be honest, this fear in other eyes gave me immense pleasure. “It has been a few days, Alpha, since you summoned me. I thought I could help you get your release,” she said in a seductive tone, and I grimaced. Catherine was one of the she-wolves with whom I bedded whenever I wanted to fulfil my s****l urge. They were nothing but bed partners to me.

“I don’t need anything from you. You can find your way out,” I said to her in a cold tone, and I stood up. At the same time, the phone on the table vibrated. I picked up the phone and opened it when I saw an unseen message there. I lifted my head up when Catherine didn’t move from her place. This woman was now getting on my nerves. “Leave,” I demanded in a cold tone, and she immediately trembled in fear. “Ye… yes, alpha,” she stuttered hard in fear, and fled while tugging her tail in between her legs. I scoffed and looked down at the screen once again.

It was Alfred who had sent a message to me. I opened the message, and a picture of a beautiful woman appeared on the screen. Her eyes were cold and distant but she was beautiful. “She is really beautiful. Beauty with not only brain but strength too. Impressive,” Thunder praised her, and I immediately agreed with him. According to what I learned about this girl from the report, She had been in the human world for seven years, alone. She was well-versed in so many martial arts skills, and there was no dirt on her records.

“She is a perfect Luna material,” Thunder spoke again in a serious tone this time, but his statement took me off guard. “What do you mean?” I asked him in a confused tone. “Call Alfred and ask him why she challenged her own father?” Thunder demanded, and I rolled my eyes in annoyance. My wolf was a pain in the ass sometimes. I knew that I couldn’t win over him, so I dialled Alfred’s number.

“Good evening, alpha,” he immediately greeted me after picking up the call. “Why did she challenge her father? Is she planning to take over the pack?” I asked him in a cold tone while walking towards the window. I asked him while sliding my other hand into the pants pocket. “Alpha Albert is nothing but a d**k, alpha. He beat his Luna and locked her up in her room instead of treating her injuries. His elder daughter, Ariel, when she demanded the presence of her stepmother, he threatened her with her stepmother’s life. In order to save her stepmother, the Luna of The Blood Moon Pack, she challenged his father and defeated him. Alpha Albert was not a skillful fighter, yet he fought with all his strength. Still, she not only managed to beat him, but also put him in dungeons,” he reported everything in a calm tone, but I could feel that he was impressed with Ariel.

“We will be there in the next three hours. Make arrangements for our stay,” I informed him in a cold tone and hung up without listening to his response. “She beat her biological father for her stepmother? Impressive,” Thunder once again praised Ariel, and now I was really curious to know why he had an interest in a woman who is not our mate. “Are you okay, Thunder?” I asked him curiously, and he glared at me. “I mean…. It is strange that you are taking an interest in a woman,” I clarified and he scoffed. Thunder never got involved with any she-wolf all these years. He always blocked me whenever I bedded someone.

“We are going to meet your crush tonight,” I winked at him, and then walked towards the door. He growled but didn’t say a word. So, he really had a crush on that human? I went out of the office, and locked it. Only I and Noah had access to my office. No one could enter the office in our absence. This was the rule, and no one was an exception. I walked towards the living room, my hands in my pants pockets.

“Alpha,” I stopped when Catherine called me. “What is it?” I asked her in a calm tone. She stopped in front of me, and batted her lashes, feigning innocence, that irked me again. “If you have something to say or else get lost,” I said in a cold tone, and she showed a hurtful expression. “I heard that you are going to the Blood Moon Pack. Can I tag along?” she asked me in a timid tone while looking at me with puppy eyes.

“No,” I immediately refused and then started walking towards the stairs. She didn’t utter any other word after that, knowing her place well. Catherine wanted to be my Luna, but I never promised her anything. I had decided that if I didn’t find my mate till 30, I will announce Noah’s son, Theo, as my heir. I didn’t have any intention to take a chosen mate.

“I don’t mind if you take that girl as our chosen mate,” I stopped in my tracks when suddenly Thunder announced in a light tone. My heart skipped a beat, and I blinked harder while processing what he said. “What?” I uttered with great difficulty, and he rolled his eyes on me.
