Sleep never came, and Kevin was scratching to let loose.
I knew where he wanted to go. I knew what he wanted to do.
Except for us blowing off steam, we needed to think. And the only place where we could think without anyone interrupting or the walls trapping us like animals was in the cave at the waterfall. The same place I had fallen in love with our mate the first time
We didn’t even ponder it. I mind-linked Xavier and told him that I would go out for a run and that he shouldn’t expect me back any time soon. Then I scribbled a few words to my mate on a piece of paper and told her where I was off to.
She will know where to find me. That I was sure of.
I gave her a quick, gentle kiss goodbye, careful not to disturb her sleep, and made my way out of the door.
