“Your majesty, I brought your dinner. Permission to come in.”
Zaire’s voice outside the door of her littoral attracts the attention of Princess Lorelei as she turns on her waterbed, waving her hand towards the door and it pulls open for the Stulka.
“What do you have there?”
Princess Lorelei asks, playing with the sizeable aquamarine gemstone in the middle of her pearl necklace.
“Two cuts of Ornate Sleeper Ray, three parts of Sakhalin Sturgeon, and your favourite red sea vegetables and your usual drink. Liquid squeezed out of sea spiders.”
Zaire informs, naming every item on the dinner tray.
“Are the fresh.”
Princess Lorelei asks, and Zaire nods.
“Yes, Your majesty, I selected the edibles myself, plucked out the bones before bringing you the fresh flesh.”
Zaire responds with pride at her intricate preparation of the princess’s meal.
“Thank you Zaire. You can leave the food on the skorpuborð.”
Princess Lorelei responds, letting go of her aquamarine as she swings her leg off her water.
Zaire bows curtly while placing the shell plate on the skorpuborð.
A table like item carved from ocean crust, by mermen who trained specially to swim into the far depth of the ocean in search of durable ocean crust.
“Enjoy your meal. Your Majesty. If you need anything, I’ll be at mouth of the littoral.”
Zaire says, bowing to the princess, and she makes her way towards the exit of the littoral.
“One more thing Zaire. Tell the other Stulkas, I want no disturbance tonight. You can come for the tray in the morning. I don’t want any Stulka hovering around my littoral tonight. I want to be left alone.”
Princess Lorelei says, sounding dejected, and Zaire nods.
“I know it’s not in my place to question your majesty about her feelings, but I do hope you are okay and please remember that your Stulkas love you. Whatever troubles my princess, I know you are strong and would overcome it. I’ll pass your instruction to my sisters. And if the queen comes around, I’ll let her know you slept early.”
Zaire says, and princess Lorelei hid her smile, glad that her plan to sneak out of the palace was coming together.
“Thank you Zaire and don’t forget to eat dinner, you and your sisters.”
“I won’t, your majesty. You are the kindest.”
Zaire compliments smiling as she exits the littoral and the door coral door closed behind zaire while the Princess used her magic to seal it shut from the inside.
Now that she had the first part of her plan out of the way, princess Lorelei sits gingerly at her skorpuborð to eat her dinner before embarking on her journey to the human.
Although she’s swam many times close to the boundary reef separating their ocean from the human ocean, Princess Lorelei had never attempted to cross the reef, because she had no reason to nor have an interest in the human.
Today is her first attempt. The princess doesn’t want to risk losing her strength before crossing over.
She’s heard from old Merfolks who had crossed the reef in the ancient time for one reason or the other talked about how dangerous and strong the tides were.
The gods we formed their word underneath the ocean made the reefs but saw no need to create a boundary until some group of divers got swept on the shore or the Merfolks world by a storm.
It fascinated the humans and the Merfolk at the sight of one another.
Merfolks being the innocent and loving creatures helped the divers treat their wounds, fed them, and helped them back to the human shore.
The Merfolks continued with the daily lives and suddenly they started going missing one after other, only for them to learn that the divers had again led researchers back to their world.
This researcher’s captured Merfolks for various scientific experiments, wanting to know how these creatures, despite being Merfolks, could walk underwater and live an almost mundane life.
Instead of swimming around from one ocean end to the other like they thought mermaids did.
The Merfolks rulers then, out of anger, sought the help of a sea witch, who they combined powers with and created the boundary between the human ocean and the Merfolk ocean.
They erased the memories of the researchers and divers, wiping out everything they knew, turning them to simpletons and sent them back to the human world.
Ever since the ancient rulers forbade Merfolks from crossing the reef unless the rulers sent on a royal mission, but tonight Princess Lorelei is bent on breaking that law and break it she will damn the consequences.
If her parents have the heart to deprive her of having her one true love while they’ve had theirs for centuries, then she, Princess Lorelei, has no problem in shaming their names.
Gulping down the bitter liquid from the sea spider, Princess Lorelei picks up her bracelet made from ocean obsidian, tying the knots around her wrists with the map tied to her curly, long hair.
Princess Lorelei checks the door of her littoral one more time before turning and heading to the secret passage she created in her littoral days after she moved into her pearl palace.
She would only use it whenever she goes out for her adventurous swims and doesn’t want her parents finding out.
Stuffing herself through the passage had always proved difficult, and even now the princess still struggled with crawling out of it.
A few minutes pass and she heaves a sigh as she drops on the far end of the palace, where she knows no mermaid or merman ventures too.
Wasting no time, she walks away from the palace, following a narrow path known only to her that led straight to their ocean.
Once she reaches the wall of the ocean, the princess stops whispering her breath around the map as a proof to prevent the material from getting soaked and she walks straight into the wall of water.
Immediately she steps foot into the water, her hair freely falls below her ass and her legs transform into tails.
Unlike other Merfolks in the kingdom of Ashira, Princess Lorelei has a distinct tail known as the Odyssey tail.
Princess Lorelei, long and bright Odyssey tail, Luminate the water as she swarm, unlike the common merfolk tail hers had large translucent turquoise fin shaped like curved daggers from the side line of her waist down and stops above her Cyan fluke which had a resemblance to angels wings.
Vague Crystal-like shapes cover the scales on the sides and backs of her lower bodies and purple-teal scales covering her breasts.
One couldn’t distinguish her hair colour in the ocean, for it looked like a mirage of different colours as danced in the water with every swift movement of her body along the voice of the ocean.
Princess Lorelei, in her mermaid form, is always a divine sight to behold for she had the glow of a goddess and her slightly tan skinned reflected the glory of the moonlight seeping through the ocean surface.
As she swam closer to the boundary reef, princess Lorelei could feel the change in the ocean temperature and she stop a few distances away from the reef to check her map for what direction to continue her swim.
The marked dot on the map points her towards the west side of the reef and Princess ties the map back to her hair, closing her eyes to reel in her control of the water before she swims further.
The minute her Hydro-cryokinesis ability reels in, the temperature of the ocean cools down to the desire of the princess, and she kisses her obsidian bracelet before turning towards the west of the reef.
Swimming across the reef was easy at first until a sudden current pulls the princess, making her lose control of her direction and she ends up in between two reefs that appear to close in on her.
Princess Lorelei could tell the magic protecting the boundary was doing its job in stopping her from crossing, which also made her aware that she was close to the end of the room.
So she swims faster, controlling the water to push her body forward faster while the reef moved closer and closer to her.
The depth of the reef reeked of darkness and magic. But princess Lorelei willed herself to focus on the tiny light she saw ahead of the reef.
The light soon illuminates a part of the boundary and princess Lorelei swam upward towards it, despite the force of the tide that kept sweeping the princess off balance threatening to pull her down to the bottom of the reef.
The reef on both ends pushed to trap the princess in as she gave one final push, propelling her tail forward and pushes her up to the light and Princess Lorelei gasps as her head pushes above water surface bringing her to the surface of the human ocean.
The vast blue of the ocean and the dense temperature surprised the princess as she swings her head and neck around, enjoying the view of the human ocean surface.
The princess seeks her map for guidance one more time before she continues on her journey.
Now that the reef tides were no more, she could swim faster, and so she did.
Thirty minutes of swimming in the ocean's depth and Princess Lorelei could smell the shore and she smile to herself in victory.
Pushing her head of water and seeing the shore of the beach a few distances from her, Princess Lorelei wills her tail to transform back to legs, and she walks out of the water.
One of the many powers Princess Lorelei possessed that made her distinct from other Merfolks in the last centuries was her ability to shape shift into any image or face she wants.
The princess takes her time to breathe in the cool air of the beach and turns her head as she heard a chorus of laughter. Coming from a group of humans who had their foot wears in the hand as they ran around the bank of the beach.
From where she stood, the princess watched the group of girls chasing themselves and she took in the attire they had on.
Princess Lorelei knew she cannot go into the city walking around naked.
So she searches for the best dressed among the girls and the princess wills herself to transform into an attire alike to the girls own but better.
Now stood the princess in skimpy sequence gown a few inches below her ass cheeks, her curly hair tied in a ponytail and the shape of her faced change to that she knew would attract the men’s attention.
From the look of the sky, the princess could tell the night was she young, and she smiled, she had time.
She walked up to the girls with her heels in hand, imitating the girls, and she smiled as she got closer.
“Hi.”
She greets in the human tongue, and the girls stop laughing, turning to her.
“WOW.”
One girl says, unable to stop herself from the compelling beauty before her.
“Can you show me what direction to go if I want to have fun. I am not from here, but I would love to have a good time with the men here. Where do I find good-looking human men?”
The princess asks bluntly and one girl in floral dress giggles at the sincerity in the princess’s question.
“The perfect place would be a club. There is club close to the beach. Sin city, Sincerely it’s the best in town and I bet you, there are knees dropping sexy men there. “
The girl who had an identical gown to the princess says and princess Lorelei beams.
“What direction do I go from here?”
Princess Lorelei asks, speaking the human English perfectly.
Another supreme ability of Merfolks is how fast they adapt to different languages, one spoken word is all they need to master your dialect, and how they could do that will always remain a mystery.
“Oh, we are also going to the club. Why don’t you come with you. If you don’t mind of course.”
The floral dress girl with cute bangs says and the princess nods.
“I don’t mind.”
“Cool. I’m Neisha, what’s your name.”
The floral dress girl introduces herself with a huge grin on her face.
“I’m Ianassa or Ianthe, both are my names you can call me whichever one pleases you.”
Princess Lorelei says politely. She didn't lie, though. Her grandparents also gave her names of their choice.
“Okay, Ianthe sounds like the name of the goddess I like that. You look like a goddess. Perhaps you are one.”
Neisha compliments the princess.
“You could say that.”
The princess replies, following the lead of the girls as they walk away from the bank.
“I like her, she has humour. I’m Kärla by the way.”
Another girl introduces herself, and the princess smiles, nodding curtly.
If only they know she is royalty and equalled to a goddess, for humans she is a goddess, anyway.
“Time to have the best experience of my life.”
Princess Lorelei mumbles to herself, smiling triumphantly as she walked beside the girls.
