The Mafia Don's Affection

CHAPTER 4

AFTER the meeting with the three Mafia families who were still supporting him as the Mafia Don, Joseph thought of walking into the park. Si Andrew ang kasama niya habang si Austin at ang iba nilang tauhan ay pasikretong nagbabantay sa kaniya.

There are five Mafia families in the Philippines. Before, they were all supporting him as the Mafia Don, but now two families from the five Mafia families had stopped supporting him. Ang sinusuportahan na ngayon ng dalawang pamilya ay ang kalaban niya… ang Manzo family.

Though they are an organization, and he was the head of the entire organization, there is internal conflict within the organization. May ilan sa mga pamilya na kasapi ng organisasyon ang may ayaw sa pamamalakad niya kaya ang kalaban niya ang sinuportahan nila. Mula kasi ng pumalit siya sa sa kaniyang ama bilang Mafia Don, may ilang batas siyang idinagdag sa mga matagal ng batas ng Underground Organization.

The Manzo Family is one of the strongest families. Matagal na nilang kalaban ang Manzo Family. They wanted to take his position as the Mafia Don, and they are doing everything they can to kill him. But as if they could kill him. Ayaw ng Manzo Family ang pamamalakad niya kaya naman naging kalaban nila ang mga ito.

Narinig ni Joseph ang ingay ng mga bata kaya naman napatingin siya sa mga ito. A small smile appeared on his lips while watching the kids playing. Some of them are playing with their parents and some are running around. He suddenly remembered his childhood days. He never had any chance to go out and play like this. Because he was the heir of the De Luca Family and next to his father to inherit his position as the Mafia Don, every day, he was forced to have his training. And then, since his sister didn’t want to be the heir of the Auclair Multibillion-dollar company, as the older brother, he also became the heir of Auclair.

Joseph sighed.

“Milord, are you upset?” Andrew asked and sat on a bench.

Umiling si Joseph. “I’m not upset. Naalala ko lang noong kabataan ko. We belonged to a Mafia family, and we never had a normal life.”

Tumango naman si Andrew bilang pagsang-ayon. All their lives, they had undergone training to fight. So, that they could be qualified to become the Mafia Don’s bodyguard.

“Milord, may I ask you something?”

Tinapik ni Joseph ang espasyo sa tabi niya. “Have a seat first.”

Umupo naman si Andrew.

“Milord, I’ve been serving you for one decade and saw how you treated your subordinates. You always treat us with genuine kindness, but you’re cruel to those people who will betray you. Also, you never hurt innocent people. But those other Mafia families, I saw how they abused their power to gain fame and money.” Wika ni Andrew.

Natawa ng mahina si Joseph. “Because my mother was the Queen of the house and my father respects her.”

“What do you mean, Milord?” tanong ni Andrew. Hindi niya masyadong naintindihan ang sinabi ng Mafia Don.

“My father was obedient to my mother. It’s not because he was afraid of her. It’s because he loves her and he respects her. It was maybe because I saw the loving and harmonious relationship of my parents, that’s why I don’t hurt innocent people.” Aniya.

Andrew looked at the Mafia Don. Sa loob ng sampung taon, nakita na niya ang mapanganib na bahagi ng pagkatao ng Mafia Don. Yes, the Mafia Don does bad things. Name it, illegal arms trade, killing drug lords, stealing, car and house bombing, and many bad things, but he never sold narcotics, abused women, and hurt innocent people. And those bad things he did were only for those people who would stand in his way. He never hurt innocent people. Because of that, he highly respected the Mafia Don.

Joseph roamed his sights in the park until his eyes landed on a beautiful lady walking in his direction. The woman is wearing casual clothes and her hair is tied into a bun. May backpack rin ito. She’s also wearing earphones. In his eyes, the woman looks cool.

“Bellisima.” Beautiful. Sambit ni Joseph sa kaniyang habang nakatingin sa babae.

Nakatingin lamang siya sa babae hanggang sa dumaan ito sa kaniyang harapan. He even smelled her sweet and alluring scent.

Kakaibang pakiramdam ang naramdaman ni Joseph sa mga oras na ‘yon. And this feeling is new to him.

“Andrew, find out about that girl. I want concise information.”

Tumayo si Andrew saka yumukod. “Yes, Milord.”

IN JUST two days, Andrew already had the information about the woman. “Her name was Iris Fontanilla, 22 years old. She’s currently working at a Research School as a Research Specialist and at the same time she was taking her Master’s Degree. Ahmm, her parents died in a plane crash and then her elder brother went missing, and she already assumed that her brother was dead. That’s all, Milord.”

“Give it to me.”

Agad namang ibinigay ni Andrew ang hawak na folder sa Mafia Don.

Tumaas ang sulok ng labi ni Joseph. Itinabi niya ang hawak na folder saka sumimsim ng alak.

“Milord!” Austin came into the room, and he was in a hurry. “Milord, the Fallorina family were requesting backup. They were having a heated confrontation with the Llanes family, then they started fighting. According to Lucas, the two families were now determined to kill each other. Ilan na sa mga tauhan nila ang namatay.”

“Llanes family?”

Austin nodded.

Mapanganib na ngumiti si Joseph. “They are now supporting the Manzo family. I think it’s time for me to visit them personally.”

Mabilis na humarang si Andrew at Austin.

“Milord, it’s dangerous. This is too sudden. What if they do something to you?” Sabi ni Andrew.

“It’s okay. I won’t die there.” Sabi ni Joseph saka tinapik ang balikat ng kambal. “Let’s go.”

Wala ng nagawa ang kambal kundi ang sumunod sa Mafia Don.

“Austin, protect Don Joseph.”

Tumango si Austin.

Sumakay sila sa van at nagtungo sa kanilang destinasyon. Pagdating nila doon, kasalukuyan ang nagaganap na labanan sa magkabilang grupo. Gunshots could be heard all over the place. Gabi na kaya naman walang masyadong tao sa labas.

Joseph withdraws his gun and shoots the members of Llanes's family. Sunod-sunod niyang binaril ang miyembro ng Llanes family. Lahat ng bala na lumabas sa baril ni Joseph ay tumama sa mga kalaban. He’s the Mafia Don, no wonder. That’s why he was feared by everyone in the Underground Organization. When he killed, he didn’t hesitate.

Then the Mafia Don saw the second-in-command of the Llanes family at mukhang hindi siya nito napansin. Mabilis niya itong binaril pero mabilis rin itong nakailag.

“What a waste of bullet.” Wika ni Joseph saka pinalitan ang magazine ng hawak na baril.

The second-in-command of the Llanes family looked for the one who shot him. Nagulat siya nang makita ang pamilyar na mukha ng Mafia Don. Minsan niya lang itong nakita sa personal noong pumunta siya sa Italy kasama ang Boss niya at talaga hindi niya nakalimutan ang mukha nito. The Mafia Don wears the most dangerous and evil smile he saw.

“It’s Mafia Don!”

“The Mafia Don!”

“Retreat!”

“Austin, never let anyone from the Llanes family escape. I have not had enough fun yet.” Aniya.

Mabilis na tumakbo si Austin saka inutusan ang right-hand man niya pati na ang mga tauhan na hawak niya na huwag hayaang makatakas ang kahit sino sa Llanes family.

The Mafia Don’s subordinates surrounded the whole place before the Llanes family could escape.

Iniharap ni Andrew at Austin ang second-in-command ng Llanes family sa Mafia Don.

“Milord, should we kill him?” Austin asked.

“Don’t be too impatient, Austin. Darating rin tayo diyan.” Sabi ni Joseph saka tinignan ang second-in-command ng Llanes family. Tumaas ang sulok ng labi niya. Kapagkuwan napatingin siya sa binatilyo na kasama ni Lucas at Rocco.

“Don.” Lucas and Rocco greeted him.

He looked at Andrew. “Who is this?” he asked.

“He is the Young Master of the Fallorina family, Milord.” Tugon ni Andrew. “The Llanes family kidnapped him. That’s why the Fallorina family attacked the Llanes family.”

Pinagmasdan ni Joseph ang binatilyo. “Do you know me?” he asked.

Tumango ang binatilyo. “I’m the Young Master of the Fallorina family, Edzel Fallorina. Greetings, Mafia Don.” He bowed his head.

“Masyado ka pang bata para mamulat sa magulong mundo ng Mafia.” Komento ni Joseph. “And you’re too young to know about me.”

Ngumiti lang si Edzel.

Joseph let out a sigh and looked at the second-in-command of the Llanes family. “Your Boss had already supported the Manzo family. So, we’re enemies now. Should I kill you? Or should I send you back to your Boss without your body, only your head?” he asked in his nicest voice.

The second-in-command felt a cold feeling run down his spine. The Mafia Don may have asked him with his nice voice, but his nice voice was dangerous. His nice and cold voice could make anyone freeze.

“Just kill me, Don,” Saad ng second-in-command ng Llanes family. It would be a disgrace if he would go back to his boss. He failed his mission and the Mafia Don was also involved.

Coldy, Joseph chuckled. “Huwag kang masyadong magmadali. May hinihintay pa ako. The main actor hasn’t acted yet.”

Nagulat ang second-in-command ng Llanes family. “Nakakaintindi ka ng tagalog?”

Tumaas ang sulok ng labi ni Joseph. “Yes. At hindi lang ako. Pati ang mga tauhan ko.” Aniya.

Then Joseph saw the red dot on his chest. Mabilis siyang umilag pero ang braso niya ang nadaplisan ng bala.

“Milord!” Nag-aalalang wika ni Andrew.

“Finally, the Manzo Family.” Wika ni Joseph saka binaril sa ulo ang second-in-command ng Llanes family. Wala ng buhay na bumagsak ang kalaban sa mismong harapan niya.

“Don!” Lucas came running towards them. “They’re here—” Hindi pa man niya natatapos ang kaniyang sasabihin nang may magpaulan sa kanila ng bala.

Mabilis silang nagtago pero ilan sa mga tauhan ni Joseph ang natamaan at bumagsak na ang mga ito sa semento. Nakita ni Joseph ang kalaban na babaril kay Edzel kaya hinila niya ang binatilyo patungo sa likuran niya kaya naman siya ang natamaan. He was shot above his shoulder.

Nakita ni Andrew ang bumaril sa Mafia Don kaya binaril naman niya ito.

“Milord, are you okay?”

“I’m fine.” Kalmadong tugon ni Joseph na para bang wala lang ang mga sugat niya. He already expected this before he came here. The Manzo family wanted to kill him, and they schemed this so that he could meet his demise.

“Andrew, Austin, protect the men of the Fallorina family. They’re loyal to the De Luca family. This is the only thing that I could do for them. And also, sent the young master of the Fallorina family back to his family safe.” Utos ni Joseph.

“What about you, Milord?” Austin asked, worried.

“They only wanted to kill me. They would never go after you. I’ll distract them.”

“But—”

“Andrew, Austin, don’t dare to disobey me.” Seryosong saad ni Joseph.

Wala ng nagawa ang kambal kundi sumunod sa utos ng Mafia Don.

Nahiwalay si Joseph sa mga kasamahan niya at talagang siya ang target ng mga kalaban dahil sinundan siya ng mga ito. He fought against his enemies and continued to run away. He ended up in an alley.

Meanwhile, the sniper was following the Mafia Don’s movement. He focused the rifle on the Mafia Don’s head and placed his finger on the trigger.
