11 You Two Are Destined to be Together

Gina's eyes just about popped out of her skull. "Lucy's family arranged for this blind date!" she roared as she pointed a finger at Rena's face, "and who are you to ruin that?"   Rena calmly lowered Gina's hand away from her. "I don't know who I am," she sneered, "but I do know that Mr. Caswell didn't run after Lucy even though he knew who she was."   Gina glared at Rena but didn't have the chance to reply as her cousin dragged her away in embarrassment. Lucy was woman enough to recognize a losing battle when she saw one.   With the commotion now finally over, the cafe patrons returned to what they were doing, and Rena was left all alone. She collected herself before she left the cafe altogether.   Unbeknownst to Rena, Mr. Caswell had not actually left the cafe. He stood just next to the entrance of it and had heard the whole exchange. He watched Rena's back as she walked away, and he liked what he saw. Indeed, she would be his target.   Leo Caswell was the CEO of Caswell Industries. He did come to the cafe for a blind date, but he did so unwillingly. Last night, his mother tried to show him Lucy's profile on f*******:, but Leo didn't pay any attention. That was why he mistook Rena for Lucy.   Leo got his assistant to reserve a table at Cafe Carrefour that was on the balcony specifically. It was the only table in the cafe with enough breathing room around it so that it made for an easy escape. He had no intention of staying longer than necessary for a blind date he wasn't invested in in the first place.   Besides, his company owned Cafe Carrefour, so Leo was more than familiar with the layout.   When Rena appeared, he was under the impression that she was his date, and he found her to be decently attractive. She had a soft, delicate face and warm brown eyes. Her hair was dark red, like a fine wine, and it contrasted nicely against her fair skin.   Leo looked at this fairy-like girl and wondered if she really was Lucy. It wasn't until a few minutes later that the real Lucy showed up and all was revealed. But, Rena's misunderstanding wasn't a bad thing, as her presence caused the blind date with Lucy to be over in five minutes flat. All in all, he was thankful that Rena was there.   Two hours later, the sun had long since disappeared below the horizon, and night descended on the city. Leo was busy pacing back and forth between the window and the sofa, much to his younger brother Adam's amusement.   "You must be happy that she ruined your blind date," Adam mused as he sipped a cup of tea. "I was the one who asked her out, but she ended up meeting you."   "Do you know Rena?" Leo asked as he paused his pacing.   "We are part of the same f*******: group. She didn't really contribute much to the group, but every time she voiced her opinions, I found them to be quite interesting. So, I sent her a friend request and here we are. She's rather pretty, isn't she?"   Leo frowned, as his brother finished his explanation. "Leave her alone," he warned darkly. Adam was a little taken aback by his brother’s words. Leo never tried to interfere in his plans to try and fool around with a certain girl before, which led him to believe that his brother had a personal interest in Rena.
