Asher's POV
"Asher!" Sierra's screams wake me from my sleep. I sit up and look over at the hospital bed to make sure she's okay, but she's not. She's sobbing into her hands, shaking uncontrollably. "What's wrong Sierra?" I question, walking over to her slowly.
"I remember," she says sadly and my heartbeat picks up. "Remember what?" I question, sitting besides her. "Everything." Her one word leaves me relieved and saddened. She remembers me but she also remembers all the hell she's been through.
"I, uh, also seen who hit me. I saw the man so clearly before my eyes closed. I could easily describe him," she whispers and I stand abruptly. "Who was it?" I ask, my anger rising once more. My patience has been thinning more and more over the last few days.
Knock knock
"Hold that thought," I tell her and she nods, leaning back against the bed. I make my way to the door and open it slowly, shocked at who I see standing there. "What are you doing here?" I ask Pierce, giving him a hard look.
"I came to see the girl. See what she knows about you. About our world. About what happened with Austin," he tells me while attempting to move around me.
"She literally just got her memory back after losing it temporarily. You could cause her brain to go into overdrive and she could forget again," I tell him and he shrugs. "Pierce, it's not a good idea," I growl out lowly.
"Not my problem, now move and remember your place," he growls and I clinch my jaw, stepping aside. "Fine."
Pierce may be above me, but he answers to someone as well and nobody likes it when Dimitri gets angry. He follows me into the room and I close the door behind me quietly, taking a deep breath.
"Who is it Asher?" Sierra questions and I see Pierce swallow hard. "You good?" I ask him and he nods, narrowing his eyes. "I'm above you, don't forget it," he mumbles. "It's Pierce, my boss from my second job," I tell her, stepping into view.
"Sierra?" I question, watching as she goes rigid. "Asher, I think the two of you need to leave," she tells me and I furrow my brows. "What? Why?" I ask and she shakes her head angrily. "Now! Leave before I call security!" She nearly yells and I look at her with hurt.
"It's okay Asher. I'll leave," Pierce informs me and I nod, paying him no mind. Once he's out of the room I step closer to Sierra, but she recoils. "Don't you come near me. Was this part of your plan? Were you secretly wanting me dead? Wanting me to forget everything?" She asks weakly and I shake my head in confusion.
"What are you talking about? Are you okay? Do I need to get the doctor?" I ask and she laughs dryly. "Really? Do you not get it?!" She snaps and I frown. "No I don't apparently," I tell her and she groans in annoyance.
"f*****g Pierce is the piece of s**t who hit me! I didn't know it was him at the time because I never met him," she says nastily. I look at her in disbelief and shake my head.
"No, it couldn't have been him. Why would he do that? Why would he hurt you and then show up here wanting to know what you know about everything?" I question more to myself.
"I don't know, but what I do know is that you need to get me the hell out of here and to somewhere safe. I have nobody but you and Ross who care about me. So find out when I can leave okay?" She asks and I nod, my mind still elsewhere.
"Was that Pierce I just passed up in the hall?" Ross questions as he walks into the room. Sierra sighs and nods her head. "Yes it was. Care to explain?" She asks me with an attitude and I roll my eyes. "Stop Sierra. I'll figure out what's going on," I mumble and motion for Ross to follow me out the room.
"What's going on?" Ross asks and I rub my hands over my face. "f*****g Pierce is the one who hit her!" I yell and quickly shut my mouth. Nurses give me weird looks and the security guard raises an eyebrow. "Everything okay?" He asks and I nod my head. "Yes sir. Sorry for the outburst," I tell him with a forced smile.
He gives me a tight lipped smile and nods his head before continuing on with his previous journey. "What the hell? Seriously?" Ross asks and I nod, anger racking my body.
"Why is the f*****g question. Do you think he came to finish his job? Do you think Dimitri is hiding something from us?" I question and Ross shrugs.
"Your guess is as good as mine. We will find out though. I'll go check with the nurses about Sierra's discharge. Just stay with her Asher and let her rant in anger. Just be there for her while I settle s**t out here," he tells me and I sigh. "Fine, but Pierce is mine. I want that fuckers head," I growl and Ross smirks.
"Calm down Asher. We both need you level headed. Don't lose your cool dude. Now go," he orders and I roll my eyes. "Dude, I'm above you," I mumble but head back inside of her room anyways.
My girl needs me and I'm going to be there for her regardless.
