(Lawrence's POV)
I can not believe the way those triplets nag and bicker with each other. Sometimes it is hard to imagine they are related, other than the fact they look so much alike. Then to see that the twin tasmanian devils snuck out on the trip with us. I feel as if I am being punished for something I haven't committed. At this point, I can only pray that Queen Adelia will come and take the twins back.
As I arrive in the kingdom, I see everyone running in different directions, as if something horrible has been bestowed on them. I watch as magic sparkles at the fingertips of the witches, the werewolves phasing out in panic, the vampires running and looking under anything and everything. Did they lose something? Are they under attack?
No, that would be absurd. There have been no attacks or threats since the Sun God, though no one is allowed to speak his name. I burst into the castle, walking straight to the meeting room where I sensed Queen Adelia. I need to know what is happening and, hopefully, this is all just for the search for the twins. Yeah, that's what the panic is about, it has to be.
"Hello Queen Adelia." I said as I bowed in respect once I entered the meeting room, which was more like a hall. It is huge. They expanded the room when the colonies started being made, so every colony could be involved. It is quite amazing, really.
"Hello Lawrence." Adelia said sweetly, I could tell she was stressed though, from the wrinkles on her forehead, dark bags under her eyes and the way she was rubbing her hands over her face. "Wait." She shot out of her chair, eyes wide. Panic was written all over her face. Damn it. "Why are you here? You are supposed to be with the triplets. What is wrong?"
"Where are our daughters?" Ace, Alerious and Antonio said as they shot out of their chairs in unison. Great.
"They are fine. We have reached the Light Colony. The thing is, though, the twins snuck off with us and we just realized. Lily asked me to come back and inform you guys. That either you could come and get them or let them tag along, the girls don't mind. Though you already knew that, right? The uproar is because the twins are missing?" I informed them as I waited for an answer.
Queen Adelia fell back into her chair, sighing in exhaustion. I watched as it seemed she aged a hundred years right in front of my eyes. I snap out of my thoughts as Ace and Antonio seem to start freaking out.
"We have to get them back now, let's just bring all five of them back." Ace said as he paced around the room. The last time I saw my brother this worried was when Queen Adelia gave birth to the boys and was told she may die. That was a horrible day and, by the sounds of the doctor, none of us would have been able to bring her back.
"We need them here, we can't have them out wondering around when we know what is now being planned. There is a threat lurking around out there and it is not a warning anymore." Antonio said sternly, trying to convince Queen Adelia.
"Love, you are weak right now, we need the girls and the twins to come back. Don't you see that?" Ace said calmly as he leaned down to her level. As if a calm conversation could ever change Adelia's mind.
"I unfortunately have to agree with them, little one. For your safety, the kingdom's safety and our children's safety, we should all be under the same roof coming up with plans." Alerious said slowly, but I knew he felt there was no winning with her. That is why he didn't move any closer to the conversation. This must be serious.
"Alerious? You know our children are a force to be reckoned with and we are strong," Queen Adelia whispered. I watched as defeat crossed Alerious' face and I knew he was going to agree with his mate now and make them all see her side.
"You are worrying for no reason. We can protect everyone here and the kids can take care of themselves as well. We have trained them well." Alerious said calmly as he sat back down next to Queen Adelia, rubbing her back in comfort.
"Leave them where they are. Lawrence, you need to go back with them. Mother, Father, could you please join Lawrence? Just make sure they are alright. You do not need to stay." Queen Adelia said, shocking me to the core. She wants Selene and Darius to join us and for us to keep the twins? I can't believe this. Wait a second.
"What threat? Why would the Queen be weak?" I asked in confusion. Why was I not informed about this? How can I protect the girls when I don't know what is out there lurking around?
"I am not weak my dear," Queen Adelia smiled at me as she continued. "I am just stronger when my children are here. I had to give a lot to have five surviving children. God's and Goddess' usually only have one child. Sometimes, on a rare occasion, they have two but never five. There are people in the dark forest threatening the kingdom again, nothing to worry about. Just keep my children safe, all five of them please."
"Not a big deal? They took two of my warriors and killed them. Then they placed them on sticks, like some kind of food and stacked them inside the Kingdom." A guy at the table exclaimed in disbelief.
"ARON!" Queen Adelia yelled sternly.
"What colony are you from?" I asked slowly, waiting for an answer. Ignoring the glare from my brother and the rest of the kings.
"Dark colony." Aron answered, with a sad look on his face.
"s**t, I have to go. I am sorry, Queen Adelia." I told her, right before leaving, hearing her sigh in exhaustion. As I ran back to the girls and the twins, I thought about what I should do. Should I tell them or not? They are so close to where the creatures from the dark forest attacked.
As I approached the spot I left them at, I looked around in confusion. Where could they be? I saw a light flicker in the distance and headed towards there. The sky begins to sparkle and the ground starts to morph. I stop moving as I feel the earth beneath me crumbling apart. What is this?
"LILY? LAVENDER? LOBELIA? WHERE IS EVERYBODY?" I screamed into the fog - filled woods. I can't see anything anymore and I am starting to worry.
"Lawrence? Is that you? We all got separated, though this is the light colony, known for illusions," Lavender whispered as she came into view.
"Wait, are you real?" I asked in confusion. She looked so real but if we are were she says we are, then she could be an illusion. I placed my hands in front of me, trying to keep a distance between us.
"I am real, do you want to do our hand shake?" Lavender asked as she hid her face with her hair. We haven't done this hand shake in years because of how shy she is. I nodded in agreement and walked towards Lavender.
Fist bump.
Clap.
Side slap.
Hand grab.
Kiss on the cheek.
Thank goddess, she is real. I pulled her into my arms as I saw the flush take over her face. "Lavender, it is only a kiss on the cheek, nothing to be embarrassed about. Now how do we find everyone else?"
"It is embarrassing. I don't know why we ever came up with that handshake. I don't know how to find everyone else. I don't feel well though," Lavender whispered as her skin began to pale. What the hell is wrong with her? Before I can even ask her, I watch as her eyes roll into the back of her head and her body goes limp. I scooped her up into my arms and felt for a pulse. She's still alive.
Alright, back to square one, but with baggage now. "GIRLS? TWINS?" I yelled out as I walked around trying to find anyone else. After almost thirty minutes of searching for them, I sat down in exhaustion. I don't feel right. Almost as if something is weighing down on me. I feel my body relaxing and losing all function as I slowly fall to the ground. My eyes are closing. What is happening?
Wait, I read about something like this. It's the fog, a sleeping gas, is the last thought I have before falling into a peaceful sleep.
(Lavender's POV)
I got separated from my sisters and my brothers as soon as the fog hit. Before we got separated, we were running away from the three - headed beast that was chasing us. Now to think about it, I wonder if that was a hallucination. I tried screaming out for them and searching everywhere but there was no luck with finding them.
I started going into a panic attack. I hate being alone, I hate noises that I don't know and I hate not being able to see around me. My sisters and Lawrence usually take care of me. They always make sure I don't get stuck in small spaces. Making sure I can see even when it is normally impossible. They are the best and now, instead of having any of them, I am alone. Oh no, I am going to die alone aren't I?
Then, by some miracle, I stumbled upon Lawerence. Thank the gods for that. I don't know what I would have done if I was home any longer. After proving to Lawrence I am who I really am, I felt off. No more than off. I felt as if my body was taking on water and being dragged down by rocks.
"I don't feel well though." I told him right before the lights went out and everything went black. I know I am asleep but I feel so awake. What is happening to me?
I think I am dreaming. I saw a guy with eyes like fire staring back at me from the darkness. His features were hard, his eyes lifeless but with a fiery shining in them and his smile gave me the chills. He didn't have any resemblance to anyone I know, though I felt I knew him. His expressions and thoughts were nothing I had ever seen before. He was stunningly beautiful, I admit, but it was a wicked kind of beauty. He had the type of beauty of a siren that would lead creatures to their deaths.
His powerful aura was so dark, it felt like you were drowning in it. Suddenly, an evil grin made it's way on to his perfect face.He looked at his hands, laughing because they were covered in blood. His laugh was addicting but also terrifying. I looked around and saw layers and layers of dead bodies piled in front of him.
I couldn't decide if I wanted to get to know this terrifying stranger or if I wanted to run and hide away from his piercing eyes.
