CH.39

Annalynn's pov

After Jakob and I made love, he ordered wings for us and we sat outside and ate our lunch on the balcony. While we were sitting there enjoying the food and the sunshine I asked Jakob about the results and he tensed up. I asked if he had gotten them yet and he said no. he told me he asked Hardin to tell Aspen to wait until tonight because he wanted to focus on me instead of worrying about the results and I smiled and said thank you for wanting to put me first but babe this is something that you have been waiting for and If you want to get them now I am ok with that. He looked at me and said,

" I will ask Aspen to bring them to me but I am not going to open it until after your heat is over sweetheart. I want to make sure my mind is fully on you and not somewhere else. We can open it together after your heat ends." I said if that is what you want to do then that is what we will do. Just want you to know if you change your mind baby I am ok with it.  

Jakob leaned over and kissed me and said "let's not worry about it right now and just enjoy the day sweetheart."

After we finished lunch we sat outside and watched the pack members doing what they normally do and enjoyed the sunshine. I asked Jakob if we could go for a walk later and he said once the pack members cleared out and he didn't have to worry about any of the single males we could go for a walk on the trail. 

Jakob's pov

While Anna and I were sitting outside I mind-linked Aspen and asked if she could bring the results to me when she had time and she asked if I was going to read them once she gave them to me. I told her no that I was going to wait until Anna's heat was done that way I'm fully focused on her and my mind isn't somewhere else. She said she was glad I was taking her advice and said as soon as she had a free moment she would bring them to me. I was looking forward to Anna and I getting out of the packhouse even if it was only for a few minutes to go on a walk. I know she needs it and so do I. don't get me wrong I've loved being locked up with the woman of my dreams and giving her everything she has asked for but I think we both need a little break from the room.  Anna and I sat outside for a few hours and then we went back into the room I got a mind-link from Aspen saying she would be down in about 30 minutes and I told her thank you. Anna asked how things were going with Thomas and Walker and I told her I checked in with them and they said things were going well for both of them. Anna turned the tv on and put it on one of her shows, we sat there and watched it until there was a knock at the door. Anna asked who was coming by and I told her it was Aspen bringing the results I opened the door and Aspen handed me the envelope and ran over to Anna. they hugged and Aspen asked how Anna was feeling. Anna said,

"I feel like a different person has taken over my body and I'm fighting them to stay in my own mind." Aspen said "yeah that is how I felt my first heat. You get used to it by the 3rd or 4th time you have it." 

Anna said, "it is definitely different but I kind of like some of the things we've been doing." Anna looked at me and blushed. 

Aspen laughed and said, "I'm going to get back to the pups before their grandma pup naps them." Aspen hugged Anna and then gave me a Hug and whispered to me, "you're doing just fine keep her happy and the devil will stay at bay." and she left.  

After dinner, most of the pack members had cleared out of the backyard and I figured it would be safe to go ahead and go for a walk so Anna and I headed out back. We headed towards the trail and Walker came out of the woods doing rounds. I asked if everything was all good and he said, 

"Everything is good man. Feels like I haven't seen you in months man is Annalynn's heat over with? I can sense it but it isn't strong to me." I said no it's not it should be over with tomorrow. I told him we were going for a walk just to get out of the room for a few and he said he'd let us get to it. 

As Anna and I walked down the trail I grabbed her hand and put it in mine. We were passing the spot where Daphanie hid in the underground bunker when Anna's grip on my hand tightened. I said it's ok baby try not to think about her and Anna said,

"It's not Daphanie, Jakob I'm sensing something and I don't like the vibe it's giving me." I said stay put and let me go look around sweetheart and let go of Anna's hand. I walked into the woods to see if anyone was there but I couldn't see anyone. I went a little further ahead to see if anyone was hiding and I heard Anna scream my name. I took off back to Anna and when I got to her there was a young male from our pack walking towards her and his eyes were black. I said STAND DOWN and he ignored me. I said AS BETA OF THIS PACK I COMMAND YOU TO STAND DOWN! Still nothing. He kept walking towards Anna and I pushed her behind me. Malachi took over and was about to shift when I heard a roar come from the end of the trail near the packhouse. I knew it was Blaze. He came running full force and knocked the kid down and stood in front of me and Anna. He roared and shifted back. He said,

"As Alpha of this pack I order you to stand down." the kid looked at Hardin and his eyes changed back.

He bowed and said "I am so sorry Alpha I don't know what came over me. Beta Jakob, Beta Annalynn please believe me I didn't do this on purpose I swear to the moon goddess I would never hurt the Beta's mate."

Anna stepped forward and said, "I know you, you are the kid from the greenhouse right before my Birthday." he nodded and said "yes Beta Annalynn I am. I didn't mean to scare you, I honestly don't know what came over me. I was making out with this chick and all a sudden my wolf took over and lead me here." 

Anna said, "Hardin why would he come after me like that?" Hardin explained to Anna about single males being attracted to a female wolf in heat even if they have a mate. 

The kid apologized again and Hardin told him to stay away from Anna. He said he would and took off. I asked Anna what happened in the greenhouse and she said, He came in while she was in there picked some flowers and came up to her, and started talking to her. She said he gave her the flowers and left. She told me she got a weird vibe from him and it scared her so she took off to Aspen's office. Hardin told Anna it would be best if we went back to our room and stayed until her heat was over and she said ok. We headed back upstairs and Hardin followed us to make sure no other males came after Anna. when we got to our door, I told Hardin thank you and he said

"Jakob, I already know if I hadn't shown up when I did Malachi would have surfaced and probably would have killed that kid." I said you're right man he would have. He said keep Anna in here until it is fully over because this could happen again if males can still sense it no matter the strength of it." I said it's weird though because we had just run into Walker and he said he could sense it but it wasn't that strong to him and then all of a sudden here this kid comes as soon as I went to check the woods. 

Hardin said, "you left Anna alone?" I said yeah but it was only a short period of time because she said she had a bad vibe and I went to make sure no one was out there hiding. 

Hardin said, " something isn't right. If you ran into Walker and it didn't bother him then why did it bother that kid so bad? If Anna's heat scent wasn't that strong that kid should not have come after her the way he did." I said I don't know what is going on man this is the first time I've dealt with a heat so I don't know much about it. Hardin said to get inside and keep an eye on Anna and that he was going to do a little investigating. When he left I went inside and locked the door.  Anna was laying on the bed staring up at the ceiling when I came into the room, I climbed up on the bed and climbed on top of her and said I know that is bothering you baby but don't let it, please. I'm not mad that we had to cut our walk short I'm just thankful you are ok and I didn't have to hurt that kid. It isn't your fault his wolf acted out and didn't listen to his Beta. I told her something wasn't right about that situation and Hardin is the one who brought it up to me.  She looked at me and asked what I meant and I told her about how it didn't affect Walker who could sense her heat and said it wasn't strong and who was actually next to her but it affected a kid who was nowhere near us. I told her Hardin was going to look into things and that she needed to try and get some rest before she needed me to cool her down again. She nodded and closed her eyes and I laid down next to her.
