Annalynn’s pov
I walked out of my room to go meet Jakob when I heard Colette’s voice and Jakob’s voice. I went to the stairs and walked up a step and sat there listening to her telling him they needed to talk and him saying she wasn’t supposed to be on our floor. Jakob finally made her leave because she wasn’t invited and she was disrespectful to him by calling him by his name instead of using his title. When she got to the stairs I stepped down and she cut her eyes at me and I said I could have sworn my brother told you not to come up here unless you were invited, she looked at me and said,
Jakob, invited me so we could talk about our son without anyone putting their nose in our business.” I laughed and said oh really?
She said, “yes he wanted to discuss some stuff that wasn’t in the agreement.” I laughed at her and said you are so full of it Colette.
You aren’t supposed to be on this floor without an invite so get your trashy as* off my floor. She huffed and said,
“I was invited. This is one reason I don’t want you around my son.”
I said you mean yours and Jakob’s son. He isn't just yours Colette and now that Jakob knows he has a son guess what? I will be part of Kellan’s life since Jakob and I are mates and he has no intention of rejecting me so get over it and get off my floor! Oh and by the way I heard the whole conversation and I suggest you know your place in our pack and show respect when speaking to my mate. Jakob is the Beta and that is how you will address him!
She stormed off and I laughed as she walked away. I went to Jakob's door and knocked. I could hear him yelling and when he opened the door and I said well hi there handsome. He smiled and said,
“I'm glad it is you and not anyone else.” I smirked and said no the trash took itself out and left the floor. He raised his brow and I said I had a chat with the trash on my way here.
He put his head down and said “I didn’t invite her up here Anna.” I said I know babe I heard everything. I said you know she isn’t going to stop trying to work her way into your bed babe.
He said “I know. I'm thinking about once I build a bond with Kellan getting joint custody and making it to where she has to move into a townhome or an apartment and we have to meet in public to get Kellan. I can’t take much more of her flirting and showing up where I am in the packhouse.” I said we will figure it all out, babe. He grabbed his key and we headed down to the dining hall for dinner.
Colette’s pov
I am sick of that little girl and her mouth. I am going to have to find a way to shut her up for good. She doesn’t know who she is messing with and I will find a way to get Jakob to reject her. I headed to get Kellan from the daycare and went to change for dinner. When I got to the dining hall my friend Illiana came up to me and said,
“we need to talk Colette.” I said ok what about? She said, “you ignoring the Alpha and trying to pursue the Beta.”
I rolled my eyes and said I told you I am not going to end up like that chick you mentioned before.
She said “Colette you don’t understand. She wasn’t just banished or put in a cell. She was put in a cell next to her brother and they were both starved and then both executed for messing with the Alpha and Luna. her brother even tried to get the Alpha’s little sister to sleep with him. Our Alpha isn’t someone to push to their limit.”
I rolled my eyes and said I'm fine nothing is going to happen to me. I walked past her and went and sat down with Kellan. I looked up at the ranked table and noticed four high chairs but only three of them were being used. I thought to myself for a minute and realized that the fourth one was for Kellan and it pi*sed me off because it was between Jakob and his mate. Illiana came up to me and said,
“I guess the Beta and Annalynn are expecting and they haven’t announced it yet.” I rolled my eyes at her and said why would they need a high chair right now if they were expecting? The pup would have to be old enough to sit in it.
She looked at me and said, “well there aren’t any other pups in the ranked circle so why would they have a high chair?”
I huffed and said it isn’t for a new pup Illiana it’s for Kellan.
She looked at me confused and I said Kellan is Jakob’s son. Her mouth dropped and she said “what?” I said yes the Beta is my son’s father. That’s why I am here. I just told him a few days ago.
She said, “so you and Annalynn are ok with each other?” I laughed and said nope I still can’t stand her but she will be out of my way soon. Illiana got up and said,
“Colette, I can’t be around you if you don’t stop your crap.” I said ok then go because I won’t stop until I have what I want. She walked off and everyone was staring at us. I rolled my eyes and started feeding Kellan.
Aspen’s pov
I saw that Omega walk away from Colette and it looked as if they were arguing. I asked Brie who the Omega was and she told me her name was Illiana. I asked her if she could get Illiana to come to my office tomorrow so I could talk to her and she said she would. I went back to feeding Juniper, Hardin mind-linked me and asked what was going on. I told him it was nothing that I was wanting to talk to the Omega that Colette was talking to and he said,
“as long as no crap gets started by her towards you I'm ok with it but the first sign of trouble coming from Colette towards you you know what is going to happen.” I nodded and once I finished feeding Juniper I ate.
