Chapter 2.   Ability

Seven had considered the legendary level powerhouses and had rather, started to direct their energy toward the blood cocoon. Suddenly, an explosion rang out from where Sebastian was. The surrounding space was vibrating, and enormous rifts were forming.

"Is he dead?" A Chizierian warrior smiled.

Just then, a huge, round Shield of Bones appeared through the smoke.

There were lots of runes on the Shield of Bones, but it had already cracked. Sebastian was still alive!

The crimson lines were fluttering around Sebastian at the moment. It looked a little dispirited. It seemed like the blow had hurt it pretty badly, but there was another undead by it's side.

The undead was topless, muscles bulging. It was beside Sebastian, holding half of the Shield of Bones. Half of its face was gone. Blood was dripping onto the ground from the sky. It was Devande!

Devande was a level-91 protector spirit. He had skills like: Defense Booster, Death Support, Death Charge, Defend the Undead, Death Link, Death Disaster, Scapegoat, the Seal of Undead's Protector, and Absolute Defense.

When Sebastian was under attack from the 40 legendary level powerhouses, it had released Devande from the space ring. Devande used all of its power that it could draw in a split second to protect Sebastian.

Defense booster increased protection; Death Support, enhanced protection of the body using death energy; Defend the Undead formed a huge Shield of Bones; Death Link allowed the protector spirit to endure the attack along with his target; Absolute Defense multiplied the defense by ten times, and dissolved eighty percent of the force of the attack.

Sebastian was the most powerful undead in Seven's possession. Only it could endure the attack from forty legendary level powerhouses. However, even though itwas very powerful, it still suffered from severe injuries.

"Master Sebastian, it seems like I am still not stSeveng enough. Please help me take care of Ace in the following battles." Devande turned around and looked at Sebastian, more pieces of flesh falling from its face. Its shield shattered into pieces. "No! My shield is gone!"

One of Sebastian's arms was also gone, and it looked extremely wretched as well. It had even used the "Blood King"  skill just now! With the reinforcement from the "crimson Graveyard," its  strength was close to that of a legendary level warrior.

But even with Devande's protection and its own incredible strength and ability to recover, it still almost perished under the attack of forty legendary level powerhouses.

"You are indeed a member of the most powerful races in the Realm of Undead!" The middle-aged man grinned evilly. "You survived even when we attacked with all our might, but, will you be able to survive the next one?"

"Hahahaha!" Excitement suddenly gleamed in Sebastian's eyes, and it laughed frantically. "I told you, your greatest mistake was gathering together! You want to kill me? You are not stSeveng enough!"

The middle-aged man felt an ominous premonition. He shouted, "Hurry, kill the vampire!"

Obeying his order, everyone started to draw on their power again, but in the next moment, they looked up in horror.

"Only… death… can truly…. bring glory!"

A stone man of more than 30 feet in height appeared mid-air, moving very swiftly toward the legendary level powerhouses. It was Lava!

When Sebastian saw this, it smiled coldly. "Lava will taste death for the first time!" Then, it turned into millions of bats and left the area.

Sebastian had gathered all the legendary powerhouses together on purpose to cover for Lava's attack. It used [Blood King] to emit an extremely powerful death energy so that the legendary level powerhouses would be afraid of it and would attack him.

While all the powerhouses were focused on Sebastian him, Lava was using that opportunity to generate his power on the ground. Since it could not fly, it could only use as much power as possible to jump up into the sky.

"Rank… Rank-9? With an aura of death? What kind of undead is this?"

"I can feel the heart-palpitating energy coming from this undead!"

"Hurry, attack him! He is just a Rank-9 undead!"

The legendary level powerhouses started to generate their power again, but they were too late. Lava was already in fSevent of them. Lava's body started to inflate. A yellow light came out from in between the rocks on its body. Gradually, the rocks on Lava started to fall off.

Lava's lips, which were covered with rocks, quirked up in a strange way.

It laughed maniacally while holding a piece of rock that was giving out white light. "The wonderful… death energy! Death… glory… honor… destiny!" Lava emphasized on the word "destiny" by shouting it out.

"Sh*t! The energy in his body is getting more and more powerful by the second! It has already exceeded the legendary level! Run!" Amember of the Chiziere family stared at Lava in horror and shouted in a hoarse voice.

In the next second, all the legendary level powerhouses tried to get away as fast as they could, but they were out of time. The energy in Lava's body was at its pinnacle!

BOOM! Lava exploded.

A yellow light lit up the night sky. Spatial rifts appeared in all directions along with it. The flames of the explosion could be seen everywhere.

The energy slowly subsided from the area, propagated in every direction, forming smaller waves of energy. The humans and undead who were fighting on the ground were hit by the energy wave. They fell and could not get up. Even Seven and his followers could feel the energy wave from where they were standing.

"That… that was scary!" Elias stared at the flames that were still floating in the sky in horror.

"What kind of power was that? It seemed to be the Son of God's undead." There was a stabbing pain in Cruz's eyes because of the sudden brightness in the sky.

A subtle smile decorated Seven's lips. He knew that Lava had used Self-Destruct. Plus, to maximize the power of Lava's explosion, Seven had given it the philosopher's stone.

Lava was a level-91 Molten Lava Undead. He had skills like Recovery, Earth Spike, Giant Stone Shield, Forest of Stony Thorns, War Trample, Scatter of Death, Self-Destruct, Effect Multiply, Blow of Destruction, and Lava Hell.

Lava had used the Blow of Destruction to jump up into the sky. While it was up in the sky, the energy in its body started to condense, and it added the skill of Effect Multiply to its "Self-Destruct." On  top of that, Lava used the philosopher's stone to boost its power a few times.

That destructive blow was why Seven was confident in storming the Chiziere family with his few followers. He had not known if the epic level powerhouse could withstand Lava's [Self-Destruct], so he had lured him away.
