Dead Souls

Dead Souls At those words, Coles smirked grimly but menacingly, and slowly took off its sunglasses. There was not a single person in the room who dared to look at Coles directly in the eyes. Even the three old men were somewhat apprehensive, and looked away. "What an intimidating dead soul…" Jarrett muttered to himself. Hearing Coles' footsteps, he could not help but swallow nervously. He could clearly feel the death energy oozing from Coles' entire being. That was the power of a curse, a force that could make anyone shudder in fear and horror. Jarrett seemed to know what Coles intended to do. Joining forces with Elias and Chasworth, the three of them erected a shielding energy field around Coles. Coles placed the boxes together and took out two red threads from his space ring to connect all the strands of hairs in the boxes together. Then Coles cut its own finger, and let the dark blood flow over the red threads to stain them black. A black fog began to rise from the threads that had been dyed black. "With the power of the curse blessing me, I command you, all whose minds I have invaded! Carry with you the will to live and die, and with these lives you have, rejoice!" As Coles' chant came to an end, the two strands of hair began to dissolve, turning into two red orbs that floated in mid-air. By the time Coles had used up all the strands of hair in the boxes, there were hundreds of orbs floating around the room. "S-sir, what on earth is Coles doing? What are those hairs for?" Chasworth asked Ron. He was getting more and more fearful of Coles' mysterious power. "You will find out tomorrow," Ron said with a faint smile. Now that it had advanced to Rank-9, Coles' skill in wielding curses was getting more and more seasoned! [Dead Soul] Cursed Undead [Level] 91 [Skills] Scarecrow; Cursed Nail; Luck Deprivation; Cursed Mark of Misfortune; Engraving of Disaster; Balance of Death; End of Life; Eye of Existence Wipeout; Mind Invasion Spell; Grudge on Calamities Coles had used the [Scarecrow] skill to be able to use a part of the cursed person's body as a medium to cast a curse on them, as well as the [Spiritual Breakthrough Spell] to allow Coles to gain control of and manipulate the minds of others. When Ron arrived at Victory Academy, the guard on duty was still the same man, but he was no longer the sleepyhead that he was before. This time, he was wide awake with vigilant eyes. "Hello, you are in high spirits today!" Ron greeted the man with a smile. "It's you, the ones staying outside the academy." It seemed that the man remembered Ron and his company after his first meeting with them yesterday. With a frown, he said, "There are no lessons in the academy today, so it's better that you all head back home for now! Since you don't stay within the premises of the academy, what happened last night has nothing to do with you." This man actually was of decent character. It seemed like he had not heard the news about Ron's identity, and did not know that Ron was the Son of God. He was also totally clueless about everything that Ron had done yesterday. Ron smiled and said, "Why are there no lessons today? We did not receive any notice of this yesterday." "Notice? What is there to notify you about? Last night, a bunch of troublemakers went crazy and started a fight within the academy!" With extreme contempt written all over his face, the guard said, "Yesterday, some brat called 'Ron, or something like that, killed someone in the academy. I heard he is supposed to be a 'Son of God.' That night, dozens of people were murdered. This whole thing is just so strange!" When Ron heard what he said, he smiled awkwardly. When Leah and Ken heard the guard calling Ron a "brat," they could not help but snicker. The brat the guard was referring to was right in front of him! "Young man, you'd better not go to class today. Just go home. The academy is in the midst of an investigation to find out the truth. Dozens of people died, and they were all heads of the clubs at this academy. It's just soo bizarre!" The guard frowned, continuously tapping his finger on his other arm. "Ron! I've been waiting for you for a long time. Quickly, come in with me!" Cruz came out of the academy, anxiously running toward Ron. He seemed a little disoriented, as he did not even think of using his space spell. "The good-for-nothing Cruz?!" The guard saw Cruz approaching and his frown deepened. He turned to Ron and said, "Young man, it seems like you are quite close to this b*stard! I'd advise you to stay away from him. He might suck the life out of you!" Ron's response was just a bitter smile. Cruz must have done something really horrible if everyone was this furious with him. "Got it! Thanks for your advice, Sir." The guard waved dismissively to show that there was no need for the gratitude. He steered clear of Cruz, pretending that he could not see him at all. Cruz ran over, glaring daggers at Ron. "Ron, have you done something without consulting me?" Ron nodded indifferently and said, "I didn't want to wait. I might have been a little too anxious." "You-!" An angry Cruz pointed at Ron. Then, all of a sudden, his anger dissipated and he sighed in dismay. "Forget it. I've already sold my life to you. What could I say? Come with me to the research lab. I have developed a new potion with a formula that I previously concocted." Before his agreement with Ron, Cruz was always short of funds, so there was no way for him to carry out his research work without inhibition, but now, with the large amount of financial support that Ron provided him, he was able to realize his ideas. A new potion? Ron's eyes sparkled with anticipation. Cruz was undoubtedly a genius at potions. Ron had been getting the Hall of Wealth to buy him strength-enhancing potions from all over the world, but that was still not as much as what Cruz alone provided to him. Ron willingly followed him to his research lab. Along the way, everyone who saw Ron and Cruz averted their gazes elsewhere. Word about Ron's identity had spread like wildfire, and thanks to that, everyone viewed Cruz in a different light. They no longer felt that Cruz was bound to lose in the dispute between the deans. If Cruz was Ron's teacher, he would most likely be receiving help from the Hall of Wealth. The pantheons were not allowed to interfere with the matters of the major academies, but there was no rule that prohibited students from helping their teachers. There were always loopholes to be found in any situation; the key was still to look at one's strengths. Ron could see that the students around them were somewhat flustered. The students from the Law Enforcement Troop were also kept busy all day long. Victory Academy was in complete chaos. In his office, Harrington was busy as hell. Frantically, he made a record on a magic crystal, then handed it to some teachers to deliver it. It was a student's death report. A student's death was a something that the academy had to account for with the student's family. Wealthy parents would never take the deaths of their children easily. This was also an extreme blow to him, the Deputy Dean of the academy.
