Chapter 4. The King of Demons After the pair had exchanged a few sentences, Cruz wheeled Ron into the thatched hut for a longer discussion. After an hour or so, both of them left the thatched hut with creepy smiles on their faces, making the people outside tremble with fear. Lofe and the three old men waiting outside all shivered uncontrollably. The servants also felt their hair stand on end. Even as dead souls, they could feel their blood burning. What exactly had Ron and Cruz talked about? "Lofe, go and prepare 500 million gold coins for Mr. Cruz." Ron was still smiling widely as he spoketo Lofe. 500 million gold coins?! Lofe was shocked. What exactly had they talked about? How had this resulted in their Son of God spending 500 million gold coins in such a short period of time?! "Son of God! Cruz, this old fellow is a rotten guy! Don't be deceived by him!" Jarrett seemed to have recalled his miserable experience and dissuaded Ron loudly Ron shook his head. "I know how to weigh the pros and cons of a situation. These 500 million gold coins will not go to waste; they will ultimately create something that is worth more than 500 million gold coins. Don't worry, I have it all planned out." Seeing that Ron's eyes were filled with seriousness and confidence, the old men stared at each other blankly, and then decided to trust Ron. He was the Son of God, after all! Moreover, if the Son of God was cheated, Cruz would not be able to escape unscathed! Cruz returned to the thatched hut and when he came out, Jarrett was immediately enraged. It was all fraud! Where was Cruz's plain clothing? He had changed into a set of high-quality magic robes! Cruz said with an arrogant tone, "Alright, just deduct the seven million from the 500 million gold coins that I have borrowed. I do not owe your Hall of Wealth money anymore. Oh! Right, the interest too! You guys are blood-suckers who deserve to die. You'd actually charge me two million gold coins worth of interest! But forget it, I have money now, so I shall just pay it all in one go!" After he said that, he turned his palm towards the thatched hut, which was instantly engulfed by a black void. "Cruz! You godd*mn fraud! I knew you were pretending to be poor the whole time!" Jarrett's voice almost cracked from shouting so loudly. "What fraud? I was merely delaying the payment! I delayed it using my own capability, so what can you do to me? Didn't I repay you already?" Ron looked at the gloating old man felt like giving him a beating. This stinky old man was really annoying after revealing his true personality. "You!" Jarrett's eyes were bloodshot as he furiously pointed at Cruz. After a long while, he breathed out heavily and said, "Well, it's great that you have returned it." Ron shook his head and laughed. The two old men really had quite a good relationship. A magic staff appeared in Cruz's hand, and another space appeared beside him. With that, he was gone. Ron and the rest also left the forest, soon arriving at the residence that Lofe had arranged. "This… this is the run-down accommodation that Master Lofe described?" When Kieran saw that even the entrance had an 8-meter wide garden, he was taken aback. This was considered run-down. Then again, he did not know what the followers of the Goddess of Wealth, who practically slept in a pile of gold coins, considered to be run-down. Lofe sighed guiltily. "There really aren't good accommodations nearby. Fortunately, this mansion marginally reaches the luxury standards of the Goddess. Even though it is simple, we will stay here. I have already hired a few top-grade architects from the Vast Sea Empire to make renovations, and they should arrive tomorrow!" Leah could not stop herself from choking on her saliva. "The Goddess really has unimaginable standard for luxury!" Even Ron was speechless. The Hall of Wealth had even hired architects to fix an already-elaborate mansion. They were indeed meticulous. After familiarizing themselves with their new environment, Ron and the rest settled down. Ron came to his own master bedroom. It was so large that it was even tiring to go to the toilet. Ron released all his dead souls that were Rank-6 and above from the space ring. After recently killing two family clans of people, he had a fresh supply of souls. [Rank] 14 [Experience] 1500/12000 [Skill] Soul conversion, Soul strengthening, Flesh absorption [Souls] 11.35 million [Soul capacity] 17658/260000 Ron's level had immediately risen because of the gift that Cruz had given him when they were discussing their collaboration! The flesh of high-ranked powerhouses had not provided him with much soul capacity, but now that Cruz had given him a 260 thousand soul capacity, Ron was extremely delighted. With more than 10 million souls, he could create many high-ranking dead souls. Without any hesitation, Ron levelled up Dracula to Rank-9. Around 5 million souls were instantly depleted. In Ron's room, the aura and vigor of death became very energetic, alarming the three old men and Lofe. "Oh no! There are dead souls breaking into the Son of God's room! We cannot let the aura be released, otherwise it will lead to much trouble if those fools from Pantheon of Brightness find out!" Jarrett exclaimed. "Elias! Chasworth! Quickly coordinate with me and seal out all auras from within the mansion!" After he said that, the energy within Ellie and Chasworth immediately rose. In the next moment, countless forms that resembled gold coins surrounded the entire mansion. Viewed from the outside, it would seem like the entire mansion was shielded by gold coins. The mansion glowed brightly, even in the daytime. "D*mn it! Look in the direction of the Victory Academy! So… so many coins!" "You are too ignorant. That is the legendary 'Shield of Gold Coins!"" "Oh my goodness, am I so broke that I have started hallucinating?" Within moments, people in the precinct started to admire this magical sight.
