Chapter 3: He's Mine, Only Mine!

SLAP!!
Laura stopped making their dinner because of the sudden slap she received from Carol.
"How dare you make stories, Laura!" Carol angrily asked Laura.
"What do you mean, Mom? I don't know what you are saying," Laura was clueless about it.
Carol laughed, "I can't believe you, Laura! Are you trying to trick my son?" Carol asked.
"You are pregnant? Are you sure that Daniel is the father of that child? Or are you using your being a woman to hold my son? For him not to continue the divorce?" she asked more.
Laura didn't want to talk back to Carol. As long as she can, she will endure all the words that Carol will say.
"Don't ignore me, Laura! Talk to me!" Carol yelled.
"Tell me the truth!! You are not pregnant, aren't you?"
Laura closed her eyes and took a deep breath, "I am Pregnant, Mom," she replied.
Carol laughed hard, "What a joke!" she commented.
"If you insist on telling lies, I am sure you will suffer in the future. Don't fool us because we already know you! You are a woman who only wants to benefit from the Crooks Family's money!" Carol looked down on Laura.
"If that is your last plan to make Daniel stay with you and escape the divorce, I can tell you that will not be the reason for Daniel and Nancy to be happy!!" Carol said.
"There are no secrets, and the truth will always come out, Laura! So, if I were you, stop telling lies!" Carol was preaching to Laura.
Laura tilted her head. No matter what Carol said to her, it had no effect. She was used to Carol's words. All she had to do was keep quiet and don't hit her.
"Mrs Crook."
Laura and Carol looked at Nancy, who had just arrived.
Carol quickly approached Nancy, "Nancy, you are here! Can you believe what this woman said to Daniel?" she asked while looking at Laura.
"Why, Mrs. Crook? What did she say to Daniel?" Nancy asked back.
"She said she is pregnant!!" Carol replied, informing what Laura said to Daniel.
Nancy looked at Laura seriously.
"Daniel doesn't believe it! We all know this girl is a liar! She will do everything so that Daniel doesn't divorce her!" Carol continued.
"So don't worry, Nancy. Soon, Daniel will marry you, and you will be part of the Crook Family!" She assured.
"Laura, is it true that you are pregnant?" Nancy asked her.
Laura did not answer and continued preparing their dinner.
Nancy approached Laura, and she held her arm, which made Laura look at her.
Laura felt Nancy's firm grip on her arm.
"Answer my question, Laura!" Nancy said with emphasis.
"Yes, I'm pregnant, Nancy!" Laura answered.
Laura's confirmation made Nancy feel angry. She tightened his grip on Laura's arm.
"You're hurting me, Nancy!"
Laura quickly removed Nancy's hand from her arm.
"Ahhh!!" Nancy didn't maintain her balance. She sat on the floor.
"Nancy!!" Carol shouted.
Carol approached Nancy to help her stand.
"What's going on here!!" they heard shouts from Daniel.
"That shameless girl! She pushed Nancy!!" Carol answered.
Daniel looked at Laura evilly, "How could you do this to her, Laura!!" Daniel angrily asked his wife.
"I didn't push her, Daniel," Laura defended herself.
Daniel and Carol help Nancy stand.
"Look what she did, Daniel. She held my arm tightly, so I removed her hand," Laura showed the mark on her arm.
"Don't blame Laura, Daniel. It's my fault too because I came here even though I know Laura hates me," Nancy told him.
Laura frowned because of what Nancy said.
Nancy looked at Laura, "Laura, if you don't want to see me, just tell me. I won't hesitate to leave, and you don't have to hurt yourself," she said.
"Can you see, Daniel? Even though Laura hurt Nancy, she never lost her kindness!" Carol commented.
"I want her as your wife, as my daughter-in-law! Unlike Laura, who is useless, even hurtful!!" Carol added.
"I can't believe you did that to Nancy, Laura!" Daniel said in dismay.
"Yeah, you will believe what your mother and Nancy said," Laura uttered.
"What did you say?" Carol yelled.
"Are you saying we are liars, Laura?" she asked.
Carol approached Laura, she grabbed her hair and pulled.
"In my entire life, no one has ever called me a liar! Only you!" Carol growled to Laura.
"Mom, stop!!" Daniel yelled.
Carol looked at Daniel.
Carol pushed Laura, which caused her to hit her back on the table.
"Divorce this woman, Daniel! No matter what lies she tells, we know the truth!!" Carol demanded.
"Daniel," Nancy called Daniel.
Daniel looked at Nancy. She was holding her belly, and he could clearly see that she was in pain.
"What is happening to you, Nancy?" Daniel asked worriedly.
"I feel pain!" she answered.
"My baby, Daniel! Our baby!!"
Laura looked up because of what she heard.
'Nancy is pregnant, too!?' she couldn't believe what she found out.
"When something bad happens to the baby, Laura, I will never forgive you!!" Daniel threatened before lifting Nancy to take her to the hospital.
Laura looked at Carol, "If something bad happens to my grandchild, I will make sure I never see you again because I will kill you!!" Carol was also threatened before she left.
'They know Nancy is pregnant!' Laura realized.
'Nancy has only been back here in the City for a few months, and now, she is pregnant?'
'It means Daniel has been cheating on me for a long time!!' she concluded.
Laura closed her eyes when she felt a pain in her belly. The doctor said earlier that her pregnancy was delicate, so the doctor advised her to rest and not to be stressed for the baby.
Laura struggled to her feet and walked over to get her smartphone.
She couldn't even look at who to call because the important thing was to get her to the Hospital.
"Please, help me!" Laura pleaded.
Laura sat down. She closed her eyes to wait for the rescue.
When Laura opened her eyes, she was in a hospital room. She no longer felt any pain in her belly, so she sat on the bed.
She looked around the room, and she found a man sitting and sleeping.
'What is he doing here?' Laura asked herself while looking at the man.
Laura stood up from the bed and approached the man.
She tapped his shoulder, "Logan," she called his name.
Logan woke up. He stood up quickly to face Laura.
"Do you feel alright, Laura?" Logan asked.
"Yes. I didn't know it was you. I called last night. I know you are a busy man. Sorry for the trouble."
Logan smiled, "Don't mention it, Laura. You know you just call me, and I'll come to you quickly," he answered.
"Just a minute, and I'll call the doctor, Laura. Go back to bed and wait," Logan ordered before leaving the room, which she followed.
Laura waited a few minutes until Logan and a Doctor arrived.
"How are you feeling now?" The Doctor asked.
"There is no pain in my body, Doctor," she replied.
"We got the results of the tests on you last night," The Doctor informed her.
Laura looked at Logan, "Logan, will you please buy me some drinks?" she requested.
Logan looked at Laura, "Why? I need to know what is happening to you, Laura," he questioned her.
Laura smiled, "Please, Logan. I'll tell you when I'm ready, but not now," she said.
Logan sighed because of what Laura said to him. Although he wanted to stay to find out about Laura's condition, he had to respect Laura's wishes.
Logan looked at the Doctor, "Is it okay to discharge Laura, Doctor?" he asked.
"In her condition, yes, she can," the Doctor replied.
Logan looked back at Laura, "Okay. I will settle your bills, and after that, we will go home."
When Logan went out, the Doctor said how Laura was doing.
"I will give you medicine for you and your child, and please, always be careful!" the Doctor informed Laura.
Laura nodded. When the Doctor left her room, some nurses got in to care for her.
When Laura went out to look for Logan, she didn't expect to meet Daniel and Nancy.
"What are you doing here?" Daniel asked her.
"I am here to care for our child," she replied.
"You're really going to insist that you're pregnant, Laura? I'll believe you're pregnant if you show me some evidence, and I'll be sure that I'm the father of the child in your womb!" Daniel told.
"Why don't you ask the Doctor if I'm telling the truth or not?" Laura challenged him.
"I've been here twice, Daniel. Why don't you believe me?" she asked.
"Daniel," Nancy called Daniel.
"You know I need to rest. Please, let's go home!" she begged.
"We'll talk at home later, Laura. We need to clear all of this!!"
When Logan and Nancy walked, Laura saw Nancy's sharp eyes on her.
'He's mine, Laura. Only mine!' Nancy thought to herself while looking at Laura.
Laura closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
'Whatever you plan, I'll make sure I don't give up, Nancy!'
