The Encounter with Former Classmate
THIRD PERSON'S POINT OF VIEW
There was a time in Seth's life that he would pretend he was a millionaire, he would snap his fingers and his servants would come running in his direction waiting for his orders.
Ah, he remembers he was 12 when he does that. He would hope he sleeps in a bed made of money. What he wanted he would get. That was what he would dream about. But as grew older and realized just how unfair society could get, those dreams faded into the background and became a delusion. Forget sleeping a bed of money, he learned he first has to survive. Life was, is harsh.
But then, with what is happening in front of him, that childish dream of his seemed to have come to life through Sun.
Seth looked down unable to look at them, there are too many eyes looking at him with a wide grin on their faces. It was frightening.
"Sir, please tell me if you need anything else!" That was one of the maids.
"Sir, is the food to your liking?" One of the chefs.
"Sir, I've prepared your bath."
"Sir, the car is..."
"Sir,"
"Sir,"
"Sir,"
Uwaaaaa!! Scary! Scary!
Seth locked himself in his room. The people in Sun's mansion are too kind, too attentive and it's scary. It feels like there are people always watching his back ready to appear behind him if ever he trips, ready to hand him the TV's remote, ready to do every single thing for him. Scary!
Sun is on his work that's why Seth is left in the mansion, he rejected Sun's offer of going to work with him. Seth thinks they're not in that type of relationship yet. Yes, they're married but that's the paper talking, not the feelings. Although he does feel better with Sun around, especially because of how persistent his employees in the mansion are.
With nothing else to do, Seth opened his luggage and pulled out his laptop to check his social media accounts and his blog where he publishes his book.
His readers and supporters are asking when the live is. 'Ah right, it got rescheduled because of this,'
Seth checked his calendar but he couldn't decide. He has to consider the factor that he's in Sun's mansion. He has to decorate a room that will look more simple as a studio.
'The mask and the give-aways!'
Seth bit his lower lip thinking of what to do. He considered buying a mask online but he's doubtful if it will fit properly. The giveaways can be bought online but the mask...
Does he need to go out?
Seth fidgets the phone in his hand before he calls Sun. After three rings, he picked up the phone. "Hi!" He sounded cheerful as always.
"Uh, yeah, hi," Seth cleared his throat because his voice sounded raspy from all the nerves he's feeling. "I, I have to go out to buy some masks," he informed Sun after a few sighs.
"That so? Okay, I'm almost done here. Wait for me."
Seth bit Sun goodbye then ended the call. After what happened, Seth can no longer go out without Sun. Since it was Sun who helped him that time and probably because he himself knows Sun is his lawfully wedded husband, he chose to trust him. Sun promised him to always accompany him outside until his trauma disappears, when? They don't know. Seth doesn't know. His fears and anxiety of the alphas and now the outside world is... unexplainable.
A good thirty minutes passed by when someone knocked on his door. "Yes?"
"Master Seth, Master Sun is home." One of the maids informed.
Seth took a final look at himself in the mirror before he went down.
He found Sun typing something on his phone while Clark is serving him some juice.
"Master Seth," Clark acknowledged with a curt bow before he offered him some juice.
Sun ended the call afterward then stood up, "hi," he greeted happily but meekly like a shy highschooler.
Seth nodded his head.
"So, where should we go? Do you have anything in mind?"
He shakes his head. He doesn't know where to buy his mask or his giveaways because he's not familiar with other places except those near his apartment.
"How about this, I know a shop that makes masks, how about we go there?" Sun offered.
Seth contemplated before he agreed. He doesn't know how and why Sun knows a shop that makes masks but he hit a jackpot.
Seth unconsciously runs his eyes on Sun's body, he's a corporate suit down with leather shoes. The suit fits his body just right that Seth can see the outline of his biceps, his broad shoulders, and his back look as reliable as ever.
"Uh, should I change into more casual clothes?" Asks Sun.
Seth did not notice he's staring at Sun too much that Sun caught him checking him. Seth cleared his throat before answering. "I, that's up to you."
He glanced at Sun, the latter has a small smile playing on his lips while watching him. Seth looked away.
"Well? I want to know what you think,"
What does he think? Can Seth tell him that he'd look much better without the suit and only leave his white polo on then open up at least two buttons down while the sleeves are slightly rolled up? Can Seth even suggest that?
He can't.
"You look okay," Seth mumbled fidgeting on the hem of the shirt.
"I am?" Sun inquired, "should I remove my suit?"
"Yeah," Seth did not mean to answer as quickly as he did but it was too late.
Sun chuckles. Feeling more embarrassed than ever, Seth lowered his head with his cheeks burning. He's feeling all fidgety and nervous but it doesn't feel bad. If anything, he can feel a tinge of excitement and he doesn't know why.
"There, all done," Sun announced. When Seth looked up to him, he almost dropped his jaw. Sun is still wearing the same pants but... He looked better than he imagines he would with two buttons down as if teasing those who see him to wonder what physique lies beneath the polo, his sleeves rolled up to his elbow.
Sun smiled at him then offered him his hand, "let's go?"
With a small nod, Seth took his offered hand.
Sun took him to the shop he was telling him and Seth was in awe upon seeing the personalized masks displayed in the shop. It was a tattoo and masks personalization shop by the owner himself. Sun mentioned that the shop owner is his friend since college. The entire time the shop owner whose name is Dylan measured him for the mask, Seth is at ease not only because Sun is with him, but because Dylan is an omega like him. Seth wonders why they're friends since they are the opposites of their hierarchy and also personality, it made him think that they had a past but he was quick to disregard the idea. He doesn't know why that crossed his mind but he dismissed it.
"Are you sure you got everything you need?" Sun asks him while driving while he simply nodded his head as a reply. "Okay, we're almost there," Sun added.
Seth vaguely remembered agreeing to Sun's request of eating outside. He suggested the newly opened restaurant.
"Good evening, welcome to The Turband, do you have a reservation?" The hostess asked. Seth couldn't help but notice that the woman is beautiful. Seth detected the scent of an alpha that's why he unconsciously grab Sun's arms and got close to him. The woman's smile slightly widens with a knowing smile before she guided them to their seat. It was placed in the corner and has a wooden wall that divides their table from the others. Seth appreciates the effort Sun put in so he would feel comfortable.
Sun's phone suddenly rang, with a heavy sigh, Sun picked it up the excused himself. While waiting, Seth felt the need to pee so he went to the men's comfort room, once done, he hurriedly left worrying that Sun might look for him and accidentally bumped into someone.
"I'm sorry..!" Seth apologized bowing furiously while his eyes are closed. When he realized that the person he bumped with has neither the scent of an alpha, he raised his head only to meet a gaping man.
"Seth Lucero, I knew it was you,"
Seth's eyes widen. "Y... You are Axel? From high school," Seth mumbled in surprise.
Axel was his classmate back in high school. They were classmates for three years in high school before Seth transferred to another school.
"Yes, how have you been?" Axel casually asks him, Seth meekly answered with 'fine' while looking behind Axel wondering if Sun is looking for him.
"So, are you coming?" Axel's voice returned him from his reverie.
Seth curiously looked at the smiling man, "coming? Where?"
Axel laughs, "come on, man. I was asking if you're coming to the class reunion this Saturday. You haven't attended our class' reunion man, not even once." Seth can hear the complaint in his voice.
Reunion? He wants him to join their class reunion? The reunion of that class?
Seth gulped, he couldn't answer, no, he couldn't talk, He's reminded of the alphas on that class, and just remembering their faces gives him shivers.
"And you see, Sir Ethan will attend to with Mrs. Reyes, I'm sure they'll love to see you!"
Ah, Mrs. Reyes and Mr. Ethan, they were his homeroom and art teacher. They were kindest to him the most especially because of his background, especially Mrs. Reyes.
"Ah, I, I think I'll go." Seth breathed. It's been several years since he last talked to his teachers, he wanted to see them too. He'll be okay, that's what Seth kept telling himself until Axel bid him goodbye after giving him the location of the reunion at the same time Sun found him.
"You okay? I've been looking for you," Sun said while looking at him worriedly. Ah, he made him worried. Sun knows his trauma and his fears, he felt bad for making him worry.
"Yes, yes, I'm okay. Let's go back."
He wanted to tell him about what happened but he knows Sun will offer to go with him to that reunion but Seth doesn't know if it's possible to bring a friend along. Maybe he should ask Axel on messenger since he left his account to him to contact him if there are any changes. From his memory in high school, Axel is your average beta-guy but he was kind and cheerful although he's often bullied by alphas because of his status, nonetheless, Axel remained kind and calm. He actually once admired that guy for being strong and it seemed like he's still the same.
'Good for him...'
"Let's order?" Sun offered him the menu which awoke Seth from thinking, with a small nod, he convinced himself to think about the matter later.
