Hearing my mothers voice made me overwhelmed with a whole mix of different emotions. I was so happy but so sad at the same time. All this was my fault. If I hadn’t of run away then none of this would have happened and I wouldn’t be in this situation. I missed her so very much and I hated myself for putting her through all this hurt and stress.
“I am so glad that you are coming home.” Mum exclaimed with sheer happiness. I couldn’t wait to hug my mother again.
I heard a horrible loud beep sound in the background as I was saying goodbye to my mother.
“What is that?“ I shrieked, panic set in.
“Oh honey it’s the alarm. I need to get to the safe room. Stay safe.” My mother explained on the other end of the phone.
