It’s Harry’s idea to talk in their dressing room. It’s private, and none of the audience members or stagehands milling about will interrupt. As Harry leads them through the brightly-lit corridor, he keeps Devon’s hand pinned tightly between his arm and side, as if afraid to let go. Devon sees a policeman interviewing the stage manager, and a policewoman holds back a German shepherd sniffing around the disappearing box. The kid isn’t in it, Devon knows.
