Vanessa had fought countless monsters over the years and many of those encounters had left permanent scars on her body. She never feared the evil made of flesh and bone, but malevolent spirits always made her uneasy and afraid. Killing monsters was easy, but performing an exorcism was an extremely difficult task. One mistake and the host would either be killed or lose sanity forever.
She cut the call and turned to David. “I need your help. I know this doesn’t concern you, but I cannot do this alone.”
“I am in,” he replied, without even asking her what she needed.
“Don’t take this lightly. This is going to be much more complicated than killing a monster or destroying lesser demons.”
