Stung

1936 Words

ALLISON Her words stung like the stung of a bee. I couldn't get it off my head. when I mean get it off my head, I mean get it off my head. All day I was in some sort of trance of my own. Ashley, literally had to do everything because I ended up adding too much sugar for a customer who asked for none and made black coffee for a customer that asked for a latte. In pure annoyance, Ashley had shrugged me out of the way and took charge of everything while I remained at the corner and tried getting myself together. Ruby's words didn't just sting because it came from her or because it was venomous. It stung because it was the truth I was hiding from myself, it was the truth I was hiding from the world. The truth I refused to accept was out there for Ruby to see. I was attracted to Matthew.
